Sunday. February 25, 2018. My first and only day ever spent in Europe: It was freezing. I hopped on this tour boat that navigated the man-made canals through the city of Amsterdam; taking in the architecture, learning some history. I started to dose off halfway through the tour because I hadn't slept the previous two nights. So, I decided to hop off at Central Station and explore by foot, making my way down through the heart of the city. I wound up in a bookstore where I became increasingly delirious. I began to look at some old photography books. Every image I looked at triggered repetitive moments of "deja vu" or familiarity. I kept thinking, I know these people or I've been to these places before. I've experienced this phenomenon many times, but this time felt unusually heavy - probably from lack of sleep. I passed out. I woke up in the bookstore to a text message from a stranger that read, "I just woke up." I replied, "same." Dinner was amazing. Finally slept a full eight hours that night. I took off on an airplane that morning, the same time I had landed the day before. Short and sweet. #amsterdam #netherlands #strommanl #travelblog #passionpassport #wanderlust #traveldeeper #urbanlandscape #blackandwhite #architecture #aov #artofvisuals #reflections #dejavu #quicktrip #travellight #exploringtheglobe #inspiring #bevisuallyinspired (at Amsterdam, Netherlands)
