Well...were you not? It's not something you'd expect from most, especially a first year. She was what, twelve?

Has anyone seen my sweater? It seems to have gone missing…
Again.
No...do you need help looking for it?
I had the weirdest experience today. I was walking down the hall, minding my own business like usual and a first year comes up to me and puts her hand right on my erm - unmentionables. She then looks me dead and the eye and says “I can show you what a real women feels like. Come to the Hufflepuff dorm after dark. I’ll be waiting.” I still don’t know how I feel about any of this.
A first year did that?
God, yes. Your word is the only thing you really have, don’t yknow.
But people lie Tonks...
Forbidden Adventures ♛ Dirk and Kaeli
So, Dirk knew the rules very well and usually did his best to follow them. Until he got bored. Boredom was usually Dirk’s problem, its when he would break the rules to have an adventure. Currently he was cutting his prefect runs and heading off into the Forbidden Forest with Kaeli. He had been in the Forest many times despite the rules. There was something about the forest that always kind of gave Dirk the creeps, he honestly didn’t see the appeal in going into the forest. People often acted as if there was nothing bad in there. He felt his pockets to make sure that he had his wand with him just in case. He had a bit of a track record for forgetting his want several times. Dirk looked over at Kaeli sending her an excited grin.
The walk into the forest was quiet at the moment. He enjoyed the quiet of the evening but it could make things very creepy if he focused too much on how creepy it would get as it got darker. So he wasn’t the bravest person to go on an adventure with but he could be quite a bit of fun. He glanced back behind them quickly as they walked along the dense forest.
There was a slight breeze, blowing through the trees making it sound there was always rustling in the bushes. “Why do you like the forest?” He asked really curious. Dirk buried his hands in his pockets as they walked along the crunchy path. The leaved were starting to fall from the trees making the path, if there was one, hard to see. He was too worried, there is always a to way to find a way back, hopefully. Dirk could focus on the negative but he chose to focus ahead which brought him to a very climbable tree. It was fairly large tree considerably larger than the other trees they had passed already. ”I wonder how far you could see if you climbed to the top of that tree,” He pointed ahead of them. “I bet we could see pretty far. Wanna climb?” He asked as he started up the tree. Considering that it was a steady tree Dirk stopped on on of the branches to look down at the Forest ground below him. “Not too bad of a fall yet.”
Kaeli hadn't expected the Hufflepuff prefect of all people to be coming on this adventure with her, especially when she had thought he was going to stop her instead. Not that she objected. She always loved company when she decided to explore and the attractive boy beside her was no exception. And yes, she wasn't blind to his appearance, nor had she ignored what she had heard other girls whisper about him, but she wasn't going to let herself get caught up with impressing or focusing on Dirk instead of the adventure. Even if that "bad boy" look he had expressed earlier even had her stomach flipping a bit.
It was no question why the blonde had been sorted into Gryffindor, she demonstrated more fearlessness than most of the young adults her age, especially in the current times. Her father attributed it as hard-headedness and stubbornness, but he himself had instilled the sense of bravery in her with the many travels and trips he had brought her along with. Her gaze was drawn to the brunette beside her as he glanced back uneasily, sensing his slight anxiety which she did not feel herself.
It was admirable he had come even though there was rules being broken and potential danger. She realized soon that she had very foolish assumptions of the Hufflepuff and that she had been mistaken. "It's unfamiliar. I like exploring and finding new things....the forest has risk to it, so the rush of adrenaline makes it even more enjoyable." She caught sight of the tree at the same time he did and her eyes lit up. The question had barely left his mouth when she was already climbing the tree before them, stopping a couple branches above him as he mentioned the fall. "I bet the view is beautiful from the top." she exhaled, glancing up before making her way higher up the tree.
Well at least I tried, but off we e offered his elbow out to her}
The effort was appreciated. [she takes his arm and smiles] Lead the way.
Yeah it is! I’m good at it too aren’t I? Almost believable huh?
.....no. But I'm sure you've fooled quite a lot of girls here.
As this point, it felt like Elton was waiting for someone to knock on the door and say their time was up. As much as he wanted to resolve things with the girl, he felt like they were going in circles and he was only making things worse. It was what he always did but sometimes he tried so hard that messing it up so much became aggravating at times. He wanted to do the right thing and he didn’t want to fail anyone while doing it, this whole thing went against it completely. Turning his head to face her, he looked at her desolate expression. “I.. just I don’t want to say the wrong thing. I don’t want to offend or hurt anyone and that’s what I feel like I’m doing constantly. It doesn’t matter what I do.” He shook his head, looking down at his hands before she took them.
"But.. I No..” He stumbled on his words, turning to look away from her. His hands slipped out of hers and he ran his hands shakily through his hair. He then buried his head into his hands, finding himself feeling worse when he didn’t know it was possible. “Kaeli I don’t understand, just why this now? No one I’ve known you for how long? Why now?”
"Elton, you can't worry so much about that....you can't say the right thing all the time, it's impossible. You'll stress yourself worrying about everything you say if you do." She replied, withdrawing her hands to herself and watching him pull away from her. She sighed, standing up from the bed and pacing the bedroom floor for a bit, not knowing how to salvage this situation anymore. This night had gone downhill quickly, much like a snowball.
"Because....I like you El. I like you, but every time I try to talk to you about something, I never get to hear what you want to say and I get frustrated because I could easily have the conversation with myself if I wanted to. I know you don't want to offend anyone, but I just want one real conversation or topic where you don't feel like you have to filter yourself around me for once. Now I'm rambling again..." She finished, running her hands through her hair before crossing her arms across her chest.
He could tell Kaeli was beginning to get frustrated but he didn’t know how to make her calm again. If he tried to lighten things up with a joke, he knew it would probably just make her more annoyed. It was clear to him then why he never tried with girls because they always ended up in situations just like that one. By agreeing to the do-over he thought he had done the right thing by it but clearly he had done the wrong thing and he wasn’t sure what he was meant to say instead. Maybe he shouldn’t have gone into the room in the first place then they would have never been in this mess.
Shrugging his shoulders, he started to fidget with his hands, feeling like he was sick in his stomach “I don’t know why I do what I do Kaeli. I was just trying to do the say the right thing like I thought you wanted me to. When I say something it’s always wrong and I was trying to fix that.”
Kaeli's expression turned thoughtful as she listened to him, trying to get her frustration under control so she didn't snap at him again. It wasn't like he was doing this on purpose. "El...I don't care what you say as long as you say what you want to say. Hell, say something to offend me if that's what's on your mind." she replied, pushing herself up on her elbows and looking at the back of him. She studied his hands for a moment before sitting up and taking hold of them with her own to calm them down.
She turned to look at him, wether he would look at her or not. "Elton, you try to fix what you say before you even say it. You don't have to do that. If you didn't want me to kiss you or didn't like it or want me to stop talking, say it. You apologize before you even say something to apologize for. I want to know what you're thinking, not what you think I want you to think." she said quietly, but with a serious tone.
Cal took a photo of it. I’m tellin’ ya, Kaeli, it’s real!
Say you're right...what did you call this thing again?
You can see glowing eyes in the dark!
That doesn't mean that's what it was. There's plenty of things that gave glowing eyes.
Normally in a situation where Elton felt uncomfortable, he would have tried to make a joke out of it but this was no situation where he could humor his way out of it. The kiss had definitely surprised him and now he wasn’t really sure what to do, all he had left was in trust in Kaeli with her idea. Maybe she had the right idea in a do over but he couldn’t understand why they needed to even if it was something they did often.
At her words, he sat frozen, waiting for her to finish speaking. “It’s not that I didn’t like it…” He paused, shaking his head at how silly that sounded. That definitely wasn’t what he wanted to say. Blinking, he scratched the back of his neck abruptly, still sitting uncomfortably. “..Nevermind..Let’s just do a do-over.”
Kaeli's thoughts were spinning and not in a good way. How did he manage to get her so confused and tripped up every time they were together? Even when she tried to take charge of the situation or try to get through the awkwardness with confidence, it always ended up with her rambling and getting lost with just a couple words and a confused look from him. She honestly didn't want the do-over, but she had suggested it because of how uncomfortable the room had become because of it.
She gave a loud sigh as he agreed to the do-over, laying back on the bed and staring up at the ceiling. Frustration was building up inside of her and she knew they still had a couple of minutes before the others let them out of the room. "Why do you do that? You say one thing and then stop. You never say what you want to say unless it has to do with Quidditch." The blonde knew there was frustration and some sharpness to her tone, but she wasn't going to take it back because there was nothing that could make this feeling worse.
No why would I make that up?
I don't know, but it can't be true...
It is not! I saw it with me own eyes!
You said it was dark outside!
Should I walk like a tough guy now?
If you really want to. Is that what the smouldering look is for too?
Huh, no. Why would I? I’m being really serious.
Because it doesn't sound true at all.
No, I’m serious. It’s believed that the pinky promise has Japanese origins! In Japan, they call it yubikiri, which originates from yakuza loyalty practices. If someone promised to do something and performed a yubikiri, and then broke their promise, their finger would be cut off.
So you take your pinky promises very seriously?
