I was browsing my Instagram feed when I came across this guy from somewhere in the Middle East who takes wonderful photographs of random knick knacks when I've come to the realization that I hardly ever take photos for my blog anymore since I've become a second shooter for my friend(not that I'm complaining because wedding photography is fun).

Well, to tell you the truth, not being able to shoot what I want when I want frustrates me a lot more than you think especially since I'm still so new and uncertain with my style.

So here I am in the middle of the night trying to find something to photograph for practice and to test my new speedlight that my other half gave me for our anniversary. It's actually unbelievable, the obnoxious amount I spend just to get the new toys and yet I still make excuses for not being able to shoot since a) I don't like to shoot inanimate objects that much and b) I don't like taking street photography because I'm mostly leaning towards portraits.

So after I browsed some of my favorite portrait photographers, I decided that what better practice than to actually try out other things outside my comfort zone, right? and hopefully, when our schedule permits, I can shoot with my friend this week and put these newly acquired knowledge to test.
