Marvel I love I haven’t been into it as much recently but I still love it. I can not wait for the spiderman movie.

Watching the new Superman movie was actually life altering. You mean to tell me Krypto is in it and he’s GORGEOUS and AWFULLY BEHAVED?

Guy Gardner has his ugly asf bowl cut looking thing, Mr. Terrific’s mask is gorgeous, Lois Lane is a mf queen. Did I mention Mily Alcock as Supergirl yet? Because it’s good. It’s so good.

And then there’s also the message and the emotions. People in brightly colored costumes are saving the planet one little squirrel at a time while cussing and telling you it’s punk rock to be kind. Plus, Clark Kent is just a little farm boy whose daddy cries when the world mistreats him. If that isn’t film then I don’t know what is.

Nobody seems to be talking about the scene where Eudoria, Edith, and Enola beat up a bunch of cops in beautiful choreography to the soundtrack of the Hallelujah Chorus and I just really think that's a shame because I would happily watch that scene on repeat for the rest of my life.

One think I love about the Enola Holmes movies is how they link the plot to real life events of the Victorian era such as the Reform Acts, the matchmakers strike, Women’s vote…

Idk if it’s because I’m a little history nerd but truly it makes the movies 100x more precious to me

It's the way Sherlock kicking the sign outside the police station was marketed as him being frustrated about his case but in reality it was because he couldn't help his sister for me. This is Sherlock Holmes, notorious for having no emotions, who told his sister multiple times not to get emotional since it will not help them solve the case, who has been depicted as a heartless scarecrow for centuries, this same person is so overcome with frustration and anger and guilt that he couldn't take it and lashed out to kick an insignificant sign.

Sherlock has always placed his cases in a higher priority to everything else. But this time, this time his sister is arrested, bound for the noose so he squares up and asks the only person he believes can help - Edith. Sherlock hasn't met John yet. He's not a team player. But he reaches out for assistance because he has tried and he has failed and now his sister's life hangs in the balance.

And now for the real tearjerker: Sherlock figured out that Mira Troy/Moriaty's message leads to the match factoy, yet he doesn't arrive until Enola is out for prison and goes to investigate himself. Why? Why would he do that? He would've still had time after he went to Edith's for help yet he decided to go only after Enola escaped. The man finally realised that Human Lives are more important than Cases and then Enola sets up that appointment with Sherlock and John Watson

My point is that Sherlock is going to become more humane (and they're going to be sued by Arthur Conan Doyle's estate again)

In the first movie where Sherlock comes to visit Enola at the finishing school she says "I'm just a case to you, aren't I? A curiosity" and this second movie proves that to be inherently false.

Enola is more than just a case to him, she's family. When he deducts that she's working at a matchstick factory and realised that someone held a knife at Enola's neck you can see him visibly pause from deducing and blink.

"Don't turn into me" "Don't be emotional" "Are you involved in something dangerous (...) If you need my help the offer remains on the table" "Holmes and Holmes?" "Perhaps you can come to Baker Street from time to time to check on me" you can literally see the ice heart melting

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE POST CREDIT SCENE OF WAKANDA FOREVER.

In the first movie, King T’Chaka says “a man who has not prepared his children for his own death has failed as a father.”

Nakia saying “Your Baba prepared us for his death, didn’t he?” and Toussaint nodding with a smile absolutely broke me.

T’Challa might not have had a lot of time with his son, but both him and Nakia agree that he succeeded in being a father, even between being snapped by Thanos and serving as king of a country.

It’s also a great contrast to Killmonger, who was also left behind from the throne and left unprepared for his father‘s death and not accepted by Wakanda. 

Little Toussaint grows up in a country other than Wakanda yes, but he still has love and preparation and acceptance and the nobility to carry on his father’s name both literally and figuratively. Just like a new generation of black children were equally inspired by T’Challa in real life.

And that makes me sob.

The cops trying to be like "oh sir you can't come in here its a crime scene" and them getting exactly zero syllables of that phrase out before Sherlock just cuts them off with a "don't be ridiculous" and brushes past them without pause.... fabulous
