i don’t know how to explain to you people that no matter what a country’s government is like i do not and will not support the US indiscriminately bombing that country’s civilians and i don’t know why that’s a controversial take tbh
“oh iran is a dictatorship!” “oh palestine is homophobic!” i don’t care like literally i don’t care that’s not a problem to be solved by other countries blowing innocent people up
Christians on social media fucking scare me like, what do you mean the only reason you’re not committing crimes is because you want to go to heaven? Without Heaven, you… would? Murder people? Rape people? What?????
Personally I don’t need a cosmic threat to understand what’s morally right but hey, maybe it’s just me
I don't know why people think The Chosen version of Judas would never accept Jesus grace, not even in the afterlife, no matter how remorseful he felt about his sin. In the foot washing scene, Judas, stunned, says "Rabbi, I-" then sincerely thanks Jesus for the foot washing. Contrast this with Peter's reaction to Jesus washing his feet, being defensive and only reluctantly and under pressure from the other disciples, submits under Jesus. Judas could have, due to feeling somewhat guilty about what he will do to Jesus, done what Peter did and refused to let Jesus wash his feet. Instead, he reacts the way christians say they should act when confronted with Jesus love. I think if both Judas and Peter died shortly after their failures in an accident, Judas would be slightly quicker in asking Jesus for forgiveness in the afterlife.
Hey so I stopped watching the chosen like years ago so I can’t really give my opinion on this 😂
& you know what it actually IS lifechanging to smile at strangers & say please & thank you & goodmorning & compliment someones outfit & help someone in need & be more accepting of loving other people just because they are other people!!!
You know what? It was maybe not life-changing but it definitely makes your life easier and I have the perfect exemple for that.
The other day I was getting some groceries and I went to the self checkout as usual because somehow, in my grocery store, there’s one regular cash register with a cashier and a shit ton of self-checkouts (an issue for another day…)
It’s my regular store so I recognize the workers, and even if I don’t I always smile and say hello because hey, human decency you know?
Next to me was an old lady that was already there when I arrived and I could hear that she was struggling to scan her items, so I point out VERY NICELY “oh missus, look, I think you already scanned this one ☺️” and the lady just SNAPPED and started shouting “you think I’m stupid?!” to what I reply “absolutely not, I apologize, I just wanted to help”. She shouted back “Mind your own business sir! or miss, with you youth you can’t know anymore!” (I’m a woman but I have short hair. I don’t really care if people misgender me sometimes, especially since I look kinda androgynous when I don’t have makeup and I’m wearing baggy clothes, but the tone she had? Oh it was full of disgust).
I leave her be, a bit startled but sure, okay, grumpy old lady. Not my circus not my monkey. Then an employee noticed her struggling again and approached her, offering some help and she shouted AGAIN “don’t touch my things! Get away from me!” Me and the employee exchange a WTF look. She grumbles about “a store full of assholes”.
My self-checkout freeze, I turned around and politely ask the employee for help. They help. I say thank you, I pay, i say goodbye, I leave.
Mind you, she had perhaps half the number of items I had, probably less. She was there way before me, she was still there when I left.
Being polite, smiling at people, makes life significantly easier.
(…But I hope the old hag stayed stuck for a long time after I left.)
So you’re telling me that it took so long to release all five seasons of Stranger Things that the main child character became a mother before the end of the show?
(MBB and Jake Bongiovi have just announced they have adopted a child)
Was really hoping Jack would get invited to the ball and invite Bridget but oh well
Rewatching the episode and girlie put makeup on (a bit of rouge on her cheeks and lips) AND earrings before going to see Jack
Love story redemption incoming, I’m calling it
Was really hoping Jack would get invited to the ball and invite Bridget but oh well
On one hand, I completely understand how George had had enough of Bertha’s schemes and how Larry is feeling betrayed by the fact that Marian did not trust him.
On the other, the Russell men need to get a grip 🙄
Bertha, girl, why are you so surprised to hear that something is going on between your son and Marian?
Ma’am, she’s at your house every goddamn episode, Larry takes her to the opera with the rest of the entire family, this isn’t exactly the plot twist of the century!
Girlies who grew up having a crush on Zuko now have a crush on Jinu
I don’t make the rules
Hate to say it because I love my girlie Gladys and I’m sad to see her getting Consuelo Vanderbilted, but thank god she didn’t elope with that Billy boy this kid is WEAK and when the novelty of young love would have faded away she would have been even more miserable than with the duke
Like would he have asked George for Gladys’ hand that afternoon he would have considered it. He would have fought for his daughter’s happiness and agency. But noooooo Billy ran away because he got scared of a bunch of middle aged men talking
I’m not saying Charles Fane should die a gruesome death, I’m just saying stairs can be slippery, horses can get nervous and stomp, people can fall from train platforms just as the train arrives… in conclusion, regrettable accidents can happen
THE GILDED AGE (2022-) SEASON 3 + ART HISTORY
Giovanni Boldini - Portrait of Emiliana Concha de Ossa, 1888 Gladys Russell in Episode 1: Who Is In Charge Here?
This might be the art history nerd in me speaking, but am I the only one bothered by the fact that the painting they’re recreating here was NOT painted by Sargent? Why would they do that when Sargent has done a shit tone of gorgeous portraits they could have taken inspiration from?
Carrie Coon and Louisa Jacobson as BERTHA RUSSELL & MARIAN BROOK
1.04 "A Long Ladder" | 1.06 "Heads Have Rolled for Less"
THE GILDED AGE (2022- )
I adore Marian and Bertha’s relationship and I’m hoping they have more moments together in season 3; as they barely interacted in season 2
FR Bertha better not go down the “she’s not good enough for my son, I want him to marry a princess” or something. Marian has been in her corner from DAY ONE
The fact that Taissa Farmiga has been playing teenagers for almost 15 years and still looks the same makes me seriously consider if she isn’t actually a vampire
Finished Ginny & Georgia season 3 (ik ik, it’s my guilty pleasure show ok), and GOD I really hope it’s not Paul’s baby. I don’t want this weak ass man crawling back in Georgia’s life just to do “the right thing”
