I've heard from some of the older people in the main camp that the islands were created when they were dragged out of a painting long ago by one of the first Kairos. It's a bit fantastical even despite all the crazy shit that's happened and that's been happening around the kairos. Still I wouldn't say it's completely impossible, given what some kairos can do. It kind of amazes me how the island's lived for so long though. There are ancient ruins at the base of canyons and cliffs dating back to who-knows-when. Some of them seem to still be intact. Still seem to be functioning. Living.
