Toddler Art! My 2yr old loves to paint. Recently, I bought a pre-drawn canvas from Michaels and a pack of Crayola’s washable paints. Today morning, my kiddo had a great time channeling his inner artist.
This was our very FIRST attempt at handcrafting party supplies for a themed party! We had immense fun creating Nautical themed banners, menu labels, favor bags, paper flowers and thank you cards.
Banners: I found the free nautical themed banner printables on Pinterest, printed them, punched two holes at top corners of each piece, and ran the ribbon through them. Repeated this process for all the banners in blue, white and red colors.
Handmade Paper flowers: Using colored paper, we created numerous paper flowers to grace each mason jar. Mason jars were purchased from Michaels.
Handmade favor bags: Free nautical themed “Thank you so much” printables were procured from Pinterest. I printed these on letter sized papers. Using my 2″ circle punch, I cut them into perfect circles and stuck them onto plain white paper bags. Later, I strung bows using blue ribbon.
Handmade Backdrop – We purchased table cloths of three colors: blue, red and white from dollar store. Having stuck each table cloth on the wall, one atop another, we cut vertical slits of equal width; and braided them all together.
Hope you enjoyed learning these DIY techniques! 🙂
Nautical Party – DIY This was our very FIRST attempt at handcrafting party supplies for a themed party! We had immense fun creating Nautical themed banners, menu labels, favor bags, paper flowers and thank you cards.
Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Baby A, my husband hosted “Nautical” themed baby shower party! This was our first attempt at hosting a ‘themed‘ party.
Having derived our inspiration and free nautical themed printable from Pinterest, we decided on three main colors: blue, red and white to depict the nautical theme. We handcrafted the party banners, menu labels, paper flowers, backdrop and gift bags at home.

I had a joyous time, handcrafting the ‘Krishna‘ themed invitation cards. Here’s how I made them. Materials used: 12″ x 12″ glitter card-stocks in gold, blue, green and purple colors. Hobby Lobby had 50% off on each. I ended up paying $1/ea. Peacock feather ribbon. These are seasonal ribbons found at Hobby Lobby. They had 50% off on these too. DIY Journal Covers
I started full-fledged journaling in 2016, maintaining a book each, for Baby A and me. After scribbling my thoughts throughout 2016, it was time to re-package the journal covers and store them in my memory box. Materials used: Decorative scrapbook paper – cut to the journal sizes. (front and back) Heart and circle shaped doilies. Washi tapes – camera, hearts, random designs. Alphabet stickers.…

During our visit to India this January, we decided to throw ‘Krishna‘ themed birthday party to celebrate Baby A’s First Birthday. It was his first visit to India too.
Keeping the peacock feather in mind, we zeroed in on the four colors: purple, green, blue and gold to emulate ‘Krishna’ theme. We carried all the party decor supplies : backdrop, main table decor, guests tables/chairs decor, and the handcrafted cookies from the US.
Party was an absolute blast! Everyone adored our choice of theme and our successful execution!

Cakes and cookies:
Cake: ‘Just Bake’ bakers at Orion mall did a splendid job at crafting the edible ‘Matka’ shaped cake embellished with flute and peacock feathers. They created the cake within just one day of ordering! Great job!
Cookies: I got the cookies crafted by lady in the US, and carried them carefully to India. She did a stupendous job at it. Everyone at the party loved her creations.
Favor Bags : MIL found adorable peacock feather handbags blended perfectly with our ‘Krishna’ theme.
