Hiyori could almost see his look of surprise. But it wasnât all that surprising. After all, her biggest trigger for her reactions had been due to Aizen. Now that he was in Muken, the world was not⊠so frightening. There was no real reason for her to be so hateful towards every shinigami. Especially not Toushiro, who she had never known in her previous life. Therefore, he didnât warrant any of her ire. He seemed⊠an earnest sort of soul. Someone⊠too young for the life of a captain. But Soul Society got what they wanted no matter what. They always liked some form of control over peopleâs abilities. And this young shinigami was no exception.
Whilst Hiyori still didnât trust anyone in Soul Society, she wasnât about to shun everyone from there altogether. She was⊠bonded through her friends.
âHnnâŠâ she is still looking at him thoughtfully. âYer⊠rather honest for a shinigami.â
It was a relief. Hiyori preferred Toushiroâs candidness over the deception that others tried to use against her. She was too old and too tired to pick apart other peopleâs agendas.
âWhy not ask the shinigami like Rukia or⊠MashiroâŠâ but even Hiyori realised that their answers may not be too helpful. Rukia had spent time with only one person. Kurosaki Ichigo, and he wasnât exactly a regular human. Also⊠Mashiro wasnât the most trustworthy storyteller when it came to her life in the living world.
âWhy have ya had difficulty?â Hiyori was momentarily distracted now. âI meanââ her eyes stay towards the coiffed hair and the stormy eyes. âHonestly⊠yer not exactly threateninâ in a gigai.â
But it was the second line that had her defenses raised up. She was not exactly a private person. She didnât need to be so secretive about her own experiences in the world of the living, but she was⊠surprised. She did not think anyone would be interested in what she did. Aside from being a fighter⊠what did anyone from Soul Society want with her? Either see her as a threat or a potential ally.
Not someone interesting to get to knowâŠ
âHa⊠dâya have a crush on me?â Sheâs teasing him with a large, obnoxious smirk on her face. He was such a proper young shinigami. She supposed this is the kick that Shinji got out of teasing Ichigo and flirting outrageously with Orihime.
âMy experiences⊠huh? Dâya even have the time? Iâve lived here longer than most humans.â
"Would you rather I not be? I should certainly hope members of the Gotei aren't in the habit of going around lying to people." He noted frankly, his brows knitting slightly at the implication presented.
"Your time in the world of the living is considerably more extensive than Miss Kuchiki's. And as for Miss Kuna. Hisagi is already attempting to get her to contribute. " He noted simply, folding his arms into his sleeves.
The ....Assessment caused him to knit his brows together, clearing his throat for a few seconds before he responded. "N....No. I didn't have any issues with being threatening." He grumbled, before blinking in surprise at that little theory of hers.
A crush?
"I wouldn't be conducting the interview. As I said, I just thought you'd make an interesting contributor to the article. Think about it." He promptly turned to take his leave.
"Even if you don't plan on offering an Interview. I'm fairly sure Hisagi wouldn't mind sending a copy of the Communications to you in the World of the living. If you were interested in keeping up to date on things going on in soul Society." He added over his shoulder.
Before promptly taking his leave of the woman and leaving her to the rest of her evening.
