I recently got my liscence and I have driving anxiety, any advice to help me out? Thanks
Go for drives late at night when the streets are desolate. Â Throw on some low volume tunes that help you feel relaxed and just drive around aimlessly practicing. Â Do this as many nights as you need to until driving starts to feel more comfortable for you, and you become more confident in your skills. Â Then start moving that time earlier and earlier into the night so that youâre slowly increasing the amount of other drivers on the road. Â
When I first got my license I used to drive around all night solely just for the enjoyment. Â What I didnât realize was that doing this made me such a confident driver at such an early age!! I would even sometime take the highway over to the next town just to listen to my favourite new music or to think about the challenging perplexes of a teenage gal. Â Â
hey kalyn! idk if this is a stupid question and it's probably obvious to everyone else but is bentley vegan?
Hey!!Â
No Bentley is not vegan. Â I know this may not be a popular opinion, but while I believe we as humans aren't meant to eat meat based on our physiological make up, I do believe dogs are. Â Their claws, teeth and even digestive systems are made for things like meat, so while I do feed him vegan sometimes (sweet potatoes, bananas, peanut butter), I would never put him to a full vegan diet because I donât think thatâs what dogs are meant to be on.Â
Hi, Kalyn. I just love the way you live your life, the way you are so cool and stunning. I am 19, and I study chemistry, but prob is that I have still 7 final exams and only 4 weeks to study. I feel so unorganised, so overwhelmed, so much material and so less time, and if I don't pass them, I'll fail a year. Please, can you give me some advice and furthermore motivation to prepare that and slay it? I'd be so thankful. Kisses from Serbia <3
Okay step one, try to stop freaking out. Â This does us no good when weâre facing a huge task. Â This overwhelm will take over causing you to feel anxious, which will then create actions like procrastination and giving up. Â BREATHE.Â
Step two - tell yourself youâve got this. Â Youâre going to come up with a plan, execute that plan accordingly, and do the best you can because thatâs all you can do. ---- anytime you feel yourself freaking out read this part again.Â
Step three - come up with a plan. Â Break down each larger tasks into smaller ones. Â Example: So you have 7 exams;Â -what subjects within each exam do you need to cover-what books do you need to read-what notes do you need to make. Â Break these tasks down into things that take roughly 1-2 hours. Â
Step four - grab a planner or use the agenda on your phone to actually plan what day and time youâre going to do each of these tasks.  This may require a few late nights but thatâs okay, you know itâs only temporary.  As you schedule these things in, try to also schedule breaks (I like to break 15-20 minutes every 2 hours of doing something), also things like âoff timeâ where you donât study for an hour or two and exercise time (even if itâs just 30 minute walk, getting exercise during any times of stress will help clear your mind, sharpen you up and give you a sense of accomplishment and stress relief).
TIPS TO KEEP IN MIND.
1. Whenever youâre about to begin a task, put your phone on airplane mode, set a phone timer for the length of time you plan to work on this task and then honker down and focus on ONLY THAT TASK. Â Do not think about everything else you still have to do, only this. Â Do your best at this task right here right now and forget anything else until that timer beeps.Â
2. Find little things that bring a sense of joy during these tasks. Â For me itâs going to a cafe, getting a decaf latte, using colourful highlighters, listening to chill music in the background, lighting candles if I'm working from home.Â
3. You can only do your very best, there is nothing else you or anyone else can expect from you.  If you plan and work hard to do your best than you shouldn't put any guilt or shame on yourself on the outcome.  Throw your standards or expectations to the wind and just try your best.  Everything in life is either a blessing or a lesson.  These few weeks may be stressful, but they are teaching you how to time manage, how to kick ass when you need to, how to get organized and how to focus.  Even if it doesnât go the way you hope; the sun will come up, you will be okay, life will go on and it will lead you to exactly where you need to be.  Trust in that, and then get to it girl.Â
I BELIEVE IN YOU. Â GOOD LUCK. Â LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES!Â
Hey Kalyn! I've recently started going to the gym again but I lose motivation quickly, any tips on how to stay motivated and keep away from the lack of it? Love you â¤ď¸
I find itâs easy to lose motivation when doing workouts that we donât actually enjoy. Â Maybe instead of going to the gym try running, yoga, swimming, biking, strength training in the park. Â Even if you want to keep the gym as part of your routine, switch it up by alternating days with going to the gym and doing another form of exercise. Â This will keep it fresh and fun making you more prone to look forward to your workouts. Â
Another idea is to set goals for yourself. Â Whether you want to shred down the time on your 5km, or increase the weight of your dumbbells as you do strength, or be able to do 100 pushups simultaneously by the end of August. Â Setting goals and watching yourself progress closer to them is what makes it all worth it. Â When we do things with no real reason or goal in sight itâs easy to lose motivation!Â
Hi Kalyn, I first of want to say that I love you very much, and your videos. Some days when I'm down or just in a bad mood, I go straight to one of your videos and my mood is 100 percent better :-) So I have watched ALOT of your coffee talks even on your vlog channel. I'm going into high school this year and I just feel like it's going to be a big slap in the face, and I'm not sure how to stop having this fear. Any ideas?
Imagine yourself 5 -10 - even 20 years from now looking back on your high school years. Â Youâll appreciate the growth that took place, the challenges you faced and the person it made you. Â This includes overcoming the initial fear of going in the first place. Â The thing about high school is these are going to be some of the best years of your life and some of the most eye opening. Â Youâre about to learn so much about yourself, create so much more character within yourself and create memories youâll look back on for a lifetime. Â You have absolutely nothing to fear and everything to look forward to. Â These are some of your only selfish years. Â To be in that sweet spot of freedom without too much responsibility. Â Look at this as a new beginning or chapter in your life. Â A chance to reinvent yourself and start becoming more of the person you aspire to be. Â An opportunity to make new lifetime friends and set new goals and ultimately move into the chapter that takes you to the rest of your life. Â Soak it all up, there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Â
Hey Kalyn, when will your planner pages be out? :) Im really looking forward to it (especially since my student agenda is running out August 31st o.O) Love you and your content on social media! sending lots of love your way :D

Hey, where are You from?
Technically Kingston, Ontario. Physically from my mother and father. Â Metaphorically from the Universe or stardust.Â
Hey! If you don't mind me asking, how's Dreamcatcher going? From what you've said in your videos, it sounds like a really good story. I can't wait to read it!
Dreamcatcher is finished, God Bless. Â Itâs currently on the back burner as I set out to publish my ebook #feels and await some information on getting Dreamcatcher physically published. Â I feel like itâs one of those things that I wouldnât want to just release as an ebook, I worked on it for so long and itâs my baby and dream to have it in physical form or even in bookstores (I would lose my shit). Â Hopefully Iâll have more updates for you guys soon!!
