Readi wins Creativity Award at Dream It, Code It, Win It
Elushika Weerakoon, David Al-Ibrahim and Kohzy Koh’s Physical Computing project Readi has won the Creativity Award at Dream It, Code It, Win It.
Dream It, Code It, Win It is a competition that celebrates and rewards computer science education among high school, college students, and young women and was held at the Cooper Union last week. More than $70,000 is awarded to projects within the theme of “Engineering Solutions from Social Good to Entertainment.” Elushika, David and Kohzy’s Readi project won this year’s Creativity Award.
Readi is a smart home device that ensures you are prepared in times of lost power, extreme weather, or inaccessible cellular service. This bluetooth speaker, clock, lamp, and forecast system combines routine home technologies into a sleek device that uses wireless data to express daily information. In an emergency, you can flip Readi over to access an FM radio, built-in walkie talkie, and a pre-programed radio service that plays weather updates with the press of a button.
