Yet again another Seimei rant you people should all read

Let's start off with a question; Where the fuck are the rest of the Abe clan?

Now there's almost ZERO reference, mention or even the slightest implied presence of any other Abe members. It's always just Seimei, and he's more associated with Kamo than with his own actual clan. Deadass, as if his lore isn't already so confusing and incredibly not even talked about in game, they just have to neglect mentioning about his own clan

Now i do lowky have an idea as to why there's no mention of the Abe clan; and its rooted in the actual myth of Seimei's parents. According to sources I've found; during the reign of Emperor Murakami (which takes place in the year 946 to 967 CE), the onmyōji Abe no Yasuna wanted to rebuild his family house. The Abe family had once been a rich and powerful one, but their land and status were lost years before by Yasuna’s father, who had been tricked by con men. While rebuilding his house, Yasuna also regularly traveled to the Inari shrine in Shinoda, Izumi Province, to pray for the god’s blessings. Which is the same place where he soon stumbled upon a fox being chased by hunters whom he saved but ended up injured; and of course that's why Kuzunoha appeared to rescue and treat his wounds in a small house.

So, I suspect that if NE is purposefully avoiding mentions of the Abe clan it's presumably because there's no one left besides Seimei anyways. Applying this myth to the game, Masuki is probably all on his own before meeting Kuzunoha and conceiving Seimei — of course with the tweaking ass confusing timeline there's a possibility that Seimei doesn't have any clansmen left in the world as of present time; He's literally the only Abe by this point.

And God isn't that so fucked up, he's always going through so much shit (being abandoned by his parents, being forced to hide his heritage, witnessing Kidomaru kill those classmates, then watching Tadayuki fucking banish Kido not long after like sure go do that in front of another HANYŌ, and then it just gets worse as he grows up). Seimei, alone and completely forces to rely on himself, unable to even confide on anyone else....like damn.

Until NE gives an actual explaination or reason as why the fuck is there no other Abe aside from Seimei and Masuki, then I'll consider this myth to be the reason why

i feel like onmyoji fell off when it started going insane with the story's powercreep, specifically the whole ungaikyo gets shattered and orochi becomes more evil plotline. for all the fun and interesting things that happened, it ultimately turned the story into a generic avengers assemble plot that went on for way too long.
