It's the Care Bones! ⭐🌈
I think the aspect of Descole I enjoy the most is the jealousy. The deeply rooted indescribable feeling of not being able to STAND someone and knowing that it's not for any reasonable fault of theirs but just because of how poisonously bitter their success or happiness makes you feel to the point you can't be near them without the urge to tear them down from their pedestal. And having to suppress it until it boils over so badly that it briefly consumes the entirety of who you are. Just his wrath in general. That feeling of being so angry that in the moment, you don't possibly care how much of your life you destroy as long as you can destroy everything else. Even the pettiness of absolutely rubbing the sharpest most ruthless comments you've been holding back in someone's face.
I love the idea of a character throwing caution to the wind and being the absolute biggest asshole no matter the price they will have to pay for it, because their anger is more important to them than their life.
This is also arguably the aspect I like most about Clive and Randall, and I like how anger is portrayed as addictive to all three of them. Because I've found that it often is in real life. It feels good to be angry and lash out and get to say your piece, and shut everyone up who tries to get a word in edgewise, it feels powerful, it feels in control.
The regret only comes afterwards, when you're all out of rage, when you've said things you can't take back, when the people around you don't look at you the same anymore, when there's nothing left to destroy.
And that reinforces the addiction, you have to stay angry, keep the rage burning, keep finding things to burn because you know deep down that when the flame dies and there is nothing but ash you will still feel hollow.
It's brilliant. I think it's very cathartic to me because I had (and honestly a lot of the time still have) major anger issues as a child. Anger and frustration has maybe always been the emotion that came the easiest to me. But I also could not ever vent that frustration because many adults and other kids acted like my frustration was their worst burden. So I started pushing it deep deep down until I eventually inevitably lashed out, all because it was for the Greater Good.
I think that's what makes it cathartic for me, it's endlessly satisfying to see a character who has been forcing themselves to shut up and say nothing Ever in the past let go of caring about even the greater good and just unapologetically be mad. Especially when they're not fully in the right, because that makes the situation much more interesting. A character rightfully getting mad at people who wronged them is satisfying but has an obvious conclusion, a character taking that much too far has you wondering what's next.
On the flipside this is what causes me to want to watch most very patient and polite restrained characters flip their shit, because I can visualize the pressure that's building up in the back of their minds and oh dude you would feel so good if you just broke the nearest vase.
All characters should get more angry now speedy out

Good news: if you’re currently laying around and not producing anything, you are a credit to your species.
It’s recently been found that even hive insects rest. Bees will play with colorful toys. Ants sleep for about 1 minute but they do it so frequently it amounts to a few hours per day. Even trees take breaks.
The only things that work without rest are machines; literally everything that lives requires rest.
EVERYTHING THAT LIVES REQUIRES REST. STOP JUDGING YOURSELF FOR NOT BEING A ROBOT.
robots require very frequent breaks! welding machines generally have it programmed in that they can’t run so long they melt themselves. ive overseen two different manufacturing robots now and each of them were fragile, finicky idiots that require constant maintenance and repair. they pause in between moves, in between jobs. you’re always keeping an eye on programming errors, on coolant levels, on heat. you’re always pulling bits of scrap out of joints, sweeping up debris, washing off nozzles and untangling hoses. and even then it snaps a chain and takes a whole morning’s vacation.
even robots need downtime.

It is, in fact, normal for you to just want to lay around not producing anything. You’re a mammal. Stop judging yourself for not being a hive insect. /End ID]
Plain text: Everything that lives requires rest. Stop judging yourself for not being a robot.
The only thing — not man, animal, insect, plant, or machine — that demands no rest is capitalism
Me: "Damn people are REALLY BAD at knowing when to tag their eyestrain art/images...either that or they just don't care about photosenitive epileptic people like me. I feel really sad now." Person: "But Allison, what if they just don't know or understand what qualifies as eyestrain and what doesn't?" Me: "You know what? That could be a factor...While it is always better to be safe rather than sorry (so YES people should always tag eyestrain even if they're unsure if it "counts" or not) maybe you've got a point?"
Anyways! HERE'S YOUR HANDY GUIDE TO WHAT CAN COUNT AS EYESTRAIN! I'm pulling this straight from the Artfight rules page about what needs to be labeled and filtered as eyestrain because it's VERY helpful and VERY accurate! I also know not everybody has an AF account and might not always have access to this handy guide, and this is an important resource; That's why I'm sharing it here! (under the cut)
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OTHERS!!!
Okay so I've been sitting on this idea I've had

I just received an email from my building management company which opens
On Monday, from 1:30 PM to 1:37 PM, several residents have volunteered to host a brief tutorial in the laundry room for anyone interested in learning more about proper use of the equipment.
That is a leviathan passing beneath the ice of my peaceful fishing hut if ever I saw one.
The passive-aggressive nature of declaring it will take only seven minutes, but precisely seven minutes, for people to actually learn how to use the laundry room is amazing (I'm figuring five minutes to present and two minutes for questions).
The sad thing is, I've lived here long enough to know this informative presentation is absolutely necessary.
… can someone give a breakdown, actually? i’ve never used a dryer before i moved to this apartment, and none of us really know what proper laundry room etiquette is. thank you so much!!
It's pretty simple if you know but I can see how it would be bewildering if you don't!
1. Good laundry room etiquette: when you put your laundry in the washer, set a timer for the length of the wash cycle. It's good manners to move your laundry from washer to dryer within 15 minutes of the wash cycle ending. Don't be anxious though. It's not truly rude until you delay more than 30-60 minutes. This depends on how many machines there are -- the fewer machines, the better it is to remove the laundry sooner.
1a. Rather than sort by color, sort by type -- undies and soft shirts in one pot, trousers and heavy shirts in another. Most clothes are colorfast these days so washing the type rather then the color is more important.
2. When putting your laundry in the dryer, check the lint trap. This is a space between the inner area and outer area of the dryer at the bottom of it. Sometimes it's a tray you have to pull out and sometimes it's just a gap that looks like it's covered in felt. If it looks "felt-y", scrape it out with your fingertips and toss the felt. If you're feeling confused, Google "dryer lint trap" and look at photos, this will help.
3. If the lint trap is empty, awesome! When you take your clothes out after they're dry, check the lower front of the dryer and remove any felt or wool you see.
4. Some hot tips: if you can avoid it, don't machine-dry "delicates" (bras, some tank tops, flimsy shirts) or t-shirts that are 100% cotton. It's not that vital, don't get nuts about it, just be aware. Hang dry that stuff on hangers if you can. Don't use fabric softener, it's expensive nonsense. Also don't do the "deep clean" shit you see on tiktok, that's also nonsense.
99% of all laundry can be machine washed and dried these days. Don't freak out if you put something in the drier that shouldn't be. One cycle won't ruin things, most of the time.
And if you still feel uncertain, ask an authority figure or do a goog! Just don't listen to AI. It is the devil. The laundry devil.
You’ve heard of “you don’t even have a dog” and now for the Marissa fans out there might I suggest people saying to her post-launch:
“You weren’t even together.”
Marissa being legitimately heartbroken and everyone seeing her grieving and unless they happen to know both her and Ryland the FIRST thing they ask is almost always “Were the two of you an item?”
And when she says no then it becomes “did you want to be?” “did you see him as a brother instead?”
Marissa feeling hurt and frustrated because isn’t it enough that they were friends? Is twenty years of late night conversations, inside jokes, tears, laughter, Thursday dinners like clockwork—is that not enough to say she loved him, plain and simple? Is she not allowed to grieve this way, like a piece of her was torn out without anyone even telling her?
But star-crossed love isn’t for friends, they say. It just doesn’t make a good story.
Saw this twitter post and instantly started looking for pictures of Stratt to use it with
What if I told you that “aromantic people, by and large, are not inherently incapable of feeling love” and “feeling the emotion of love is not required to be a good person” and “it’s an individual person’s choice whether to call something love or not” and “broadening the definition of love is inherently a resistance against amatonormative systems which seek to control the contexts in which love can be expressed” and “both loving differently and not loving at all are valid and vital methods of resistance against those systems” are all compatible statements that can coexist
you’re right and you should say it
in-fucking-deed

whenever the conversation about difficulty and accessibility in games come up i want to slam my head into a wall because noone thats speaking has anything more than a surface level understanding of what "difficulty" even is
your game should have accessibility options, but if your only accessibility options are "turn off central game mechanics" then you have made shit accessibility options.
you know what accessibility option doesnt completely fucking butcher your game while allowing almost everyone to play it? an option that is not available in 99.99% of all games ever made? easy:
bonus points: if you put a game speed slider in your game you can also allow Absolute Fucking Freaks to turn it higher than 100%
