a lot of fans have a problem with the gundam game having you fight big alien monsters due to that really not being what gundam is about, and the main argument against this sentiment I'm seeing is that gundam both already has aliens in multiple stories and that, should the alien be replaced with a mobile armor, the end result wouldn't be very different

now, I can't speak on the former, because in the more or less 12 gundam shows I've watched, aliens don't really come up (unless you stretch the definition of alien in some certain ways that I think would be appropriate for a franchise about social conflict and communication, but that I think is unnecessary for this point). but if you've ever played a gundam third person action game before, you would actually know that fighting mobile armors is consistently the worst part of those
