As he moved off from her, the mute quickly grabbed his elbow. What in all the worlds was he doing? He must not have understood the need to keep a low profile. This was her fault. She should have left him behind or explained better. ‘This is not what we should do. We do not talk to the people in ANY world for risk of imbalance. You never know the way things work and if they may speak only through energy or if speaking is even against the laws here. You stay quiet and has as little interaction with others as possible.’
Her thoughts were scolding as she pulled him back from the person he had tried to move forward to. Hopefully no damage was done and her eyes went back to the map in her hand. The red dot moved as she tried to force them across the street.. but she froze. One yellow dot appeared on the far edges of the map. This seemed to send fear into the otherwise calm female. Then other yellow dots flashed and Allura quickly darted across the busy road. ‘An entire clan. I must find a hotel.’
Yanked back from his direct attempt at getting information, Kamus allowed himself a low huff in irritation. The magic he had channeled dispersed without a target, as he turned his attention back to the world for his own attempts at recon. Given how peaceful the world seemed, Kamus had to imagine it had a working system. Armed guards weren’t marching down the street, so either there was no system of government or it was a rather free system. A good sign, at the very least... What brought him back to concern was Allura’s dashing and desperate mental call.
‘Very well. We shall move faster. Arms up, if you please.’ The mage’s broomstick swiftly levelled out above the air on Kamus’ motion, before the entity let himself slide on board and taking off with a burst of air. With a slight amount of speed he angled himself to catch up with Allura, keeping his arm and body low so he could catch her mid-flight and take off for the sky. After all, if what they needed was to move faster, he could do that... And maybe they wouldn’t need to hide at all if they got the book fast enough.

“None own my life. I may do as I wish. I am simply the last of my kind and there are plenty who would wish me dead. That is why the doors came to me. Not because I was some astounding talent..but because I am the last…” she corrected quickly. It was not as if she were a slave or held against her will. She actually loved her job, and the school for the most part. It was just always a constant struggle to be the best at everything since she had been the best at nothing and still was allowed in the school.
The mute glanced around quickly, contact covered eyes darting this way and that. Well at least this place seemed stable. She had been to many worlds that were in war or full of the most vile creatures. The door vanished behind them the moment they had passed through clearly. Pulling the map from her backpack she started forward. The red dot on the map started moving with her motion as she worked her way toward the green dot. “My map lacks the magic to obtain names. It merely obtains directions. No street names, or town names, merely lines and two dots and water such as lakes.Where we are or what is acceptable in this world is as much a mystery to me as it is to you.“
“That can be rectified.” His response was remarkably frank and almost cheerful in tone, as he completely ignored the lady’s own subtle movements. Broomstick in hand, the young entity moved up to the nearest figure and gave a gentle smile. “Greetings. Could you tell me where we are? I seem to have gotten lost.” While saying this, the mage was channeling a gentle spell of his own, one for pacification and short-term memory alteration. A calm yellow hue began charging beneath his feet, ready to leap into his hand as he approached the figure.
Kamus had performed this spell several times before, one that he had created solely for the purpose of granting other individuals enhanced versions of their memories for a short time... Making them experience the kind of emotion or sensation Kamus believed they wanted. Or deserved, whichever. It also had the effect of overwriting the individual’s memory of the event, leaving a hole to be filled by whatever matching thoughts they could come up with. Of course, Kamus had never used more than one sigil for this at a time, and wasn’t about to now. All he wanted was information... And a way out if the person turned out hostile.
//I will openly admit… This blog is still a mystery to me.
I know I only have one thread with Kamus at this point, one connection that I know is still there.
The original reason I made this blog, the one responsible for his story, hasn’t been on for almost a year.
And in general… His story needs work.
So I don’t know. Thinking I could either reboot or fold. So I just want to know…

The feeling of him this close made the mute uneasy. She didn’t fight with it however. Allura was very used to the sensation of awkwardness that came from closeness of any kind but especially with males. Allura took a long breath and moved to step into the door. She felt the energy he was putting off and glanced downward. Her body was very in tune with the worlds she passed through…usually. This allowed her to feel any chances rather quickly. What he was doing was none of her concern really. He wanted to figure things out but she knew all too well the magic that went into the door. “You cannot create a door. It appears to those chosen. Only the school headmaster may create a door. Your best bet would be to do something so fantastic that the door appears to you. That is how things work. A door will appear for those who show astounding promise in their chosen fields. Or..if you are like me..it comes because you will die without it and if you die..so does an entire ..” she was letting her thoughts get away from her. “ nevermind. You might feel dizzy for a moment but then it will pass.” she warned before leading him right through the doorway and into the back streets of what sounded light a bustling city.
“If your life is in the hands of another, you should seek to unbind yourself...” The mage mentally commented idly, before being pulled through the doorway with a sudden jerk from her movement. It wasn’t his business ultimately, but if her life was only permitted by the will of another, she deserved to be freed of that burden. Such was his own fate for a long while, until fate allowed him to walk a different path. Though, Kamus himself would simply muse that he made his own fate. As should everyone be able to.
More to the point. The sigil did indeed maintain it’s integrity as he left, before releasing with a pool of cleansing water to nourish the life underfoot. Kamus had no more need for it... He was satisfied with the end result. Indeed, it seemed akin to a one-to-one transfer, like a hole in reality from one place to the next. Kamus himself preferred to do so far above the clouds, so as to ensure he wouldn’t disturb or harm anyone in the worlds he visited, but doing so with this precision had to take practice, knowledge, the right tools... Or more likely, all three.
“Please, what world is this that we have entered?” His eyes now turned skyward, then about to the people and buildings, trying to recognize it at first and failing that, understanding what he had to expect. Evidently these people wore clothes, that much was useful... And the buildings weren’t on fire or being built out of solid gold, always a plus for stability.

Allura did not know his attention to her had nothing to do with what beauty she might have, but rather the energy that seemed to work at her will. She could merely base her actions on her warnings. On her fears. On her worries and concerns for not just her safety but those around her. She had to be on her guard all the time for every reason. Her powers held control over so many if they were only let free for a breath. ‘Your assurance is not needed nor did I ask for it. I see what you have done and I am sure that would be…useful in gaining books I am not allowed to buy.’ She had resorted to theift many times now, always leaving behind money for the book she took but taking it even if told they were not for sale. Allura struggled many times, using all options to gain the contents of a boo, but if all were turned aside…yes. Yes she would be a book thief and proud of her stealth. But this …male could copy books with a mere touch. That seemed useful to her on a higher level and she would not deny that. ‘I do not want your company, however it does seem to have a use so for now…till you prove otherwise unworthy, I will allow you to follow.’
The mute held out her elbow. ‘Hold to the folds of my cloak…Do not touch me.’ she warned with an edge in her thoughts. She wanted nothing to do with human touch, nothing and everything all at once. ‘I will allow you to come with me to the next destination, but not to my school. My school requires far more trust and paperwork to gain access too. That ..or you must gain a door of your own.’
Gentle fingers untouched by martial combat reached out, grasping onto the fabric as had been directed and holding firm. He had no reason to attempt physical contact, though he chose not to question Allura’s choice of commands. Instead, he merely held firm, staying steady alongside her and allowing his eyes to peer about with a quiet curiosity. After all, this would be his first time travelling between dimensions under someone else’s power... it would be a unique experience, to say the least.
And one he would not be taking lightly. His breath halted for just a moment, as his foot began to glow a gentle blue hue beneath his robe... Tracing a circle beneath him while he waited for Allura to move forward. This would serve as a link for him, allowing him to have some semblance of context for the travel if it worked at all how he predicted. Whether or not it worked would be another matter altogether... Still.
“I will create my own door in all likelihood, I need merely understand it. But, I vastly appreciate your co-operation in this thus far as you are willing to have me. I am at your service.” Whether or not he could was irrelevant, he believed he could regardless. A slight tilt of the head with the smile, before Kamus turned his attention back to the door. He had to focus for this, after all. It would be a unique experience... And that was something he rarely got to do anymore. Once more, into the breach and all that.
//For those who may not care to wrack yourself through Kamus’ backstory, allow me to place an abridged version here for you.
Once upon a time, there was a land of fungi not unlike the Mushroom Kingdom... But fractured just slightly. For you see, the matriarch of this land was not allied with the Toads... But the Koopas instead.
This lady of the night was more effective than her kinder, just self. This Queen Durian had taken it upon herself to crush her kingdom under her heel... And any who would threaten her. To this end, she began investigating all sorts of magic in her world... From the alchemical, to the spiritual, to the divine, to the arcane... Until, eventually, she stumbled upon a potent source of power she could, somewhat, control. Chaos Magic... Wielded by a force of nature beyond her control, but strangely willing to obey her.
Over time, her requests to the ether came back with results, and she became familial with the force before her. Eventually giving it the physical form of her own troop, the Magikoopa, the Queen tore forth from the void a mass of power she could control and shape more easily... And she named this form Kamus.
Kamus began life anonymous and without identity, but after watching his Queen’s interactions with others, grew in turn. With his natural abilities in Chaos Magic and being of an unnatural but malleable form, Kamus quickly became an integral part of Queen Durian’s force, granting her new and more impressive powers and tools... Eventually being asked to create powers instead.
Though he did not argue with this, Kamus did feel as though the Queen’s methods were eventually becoming unneeded. Force seemed so impractical to him... And eventually, with testing his powers he came to meet another version of his lady, a fairer and kinder spirit... Princess Peach, the original.
Peach befriended the young being, teaching him some of the more basics of morality and granting him the chance to learn new perspectives. Though he had been given form by Durian and took power from himself, it was Peach who gave him soul.
Which came to a crashing halt when Durian finally found and declared war on her alternate-world self.
Although it was Kamus’ tools at the front of the war, the mage himself did all he could to prevent a crushing defeat of the Mushroom Kingdom, finding himself torn. He did not want either his Queen or his Princess friend to suffer or perish, which only made him begin to act more and more rashly trying in desperation to maintain some semblance of balance.
In the end, this was for naught but a sacrifice. Surrounded and struck down for his insubordination, Kamus learned of his Queen’s drive for conquest not being formed of her own will, but that of the elder mage Kamek from their alternate world. His mortal form being overwhelmed, Kamus was forced to use Chaos Magic on a far higher level to defy what seemed to be fate... But, as he shortly learned, this came at a cost.
In a flash, it was over. Kamek was defeated, Durian was freed, Peach was safe, and Kamus had lost his arm in the final spell. Using such a powerful, reality warping spell had caused him to use part of his own form to do so... Of which he had a limited amount. Though his arm was replaced, and glamour magic made it appear natural, it serves as a reminder. Though Kamus has the potential for such powerful acts, to do so without limit would cast him back into the void... Destroying his mortal form. And though he could be theoretically reformed as before... His memories, his soul, the things that made him more than a mass of power, would be gone forever.
Now Kamus wanders, from world to world, dispensing with his magic and learning the stories of others... Seeking to improve the lives of those around him in exchange for what knowledge they can provide. No matter where, when, or what it takes.
//I will openly admit... This blog is still a mystery to me.

With the book safely in her backpack the energy flow behind her shifted. Something was stirring, changing the fabric of the air and creating something new, yet old at the same time. Allura either did not notice or simply did not question what it was. She was more concerned about how his eyes drifted over her just once. The mute seemed to sink further into the cloak, hunching her back a bit and trying to make herself as unattractive as she could in the moment. “I will take you to my apartment…once I find one.” The statement might seem odd, but she already knew it was time to leave this world. Not only was the door forming behind her, the map she had completely changed in its appearance. Now it showed vast lakes and marking for large cities and many thousands of streets. On top of it all were two dots, one green and one red.
“As for being my aid, I am not sure that is the wisest thing. I do not keep company well. And if I am honest it is frowned on for me to keep company with men. No matter what their intentions might be.“ Sometimes the truth was helpful in saving the girl from being social. “The school would also have to approve and new students. I am not sure they would allow you to enter. I would have to find a good cause for me to need an aid yet I am doing well gaining the books on my list on my own.”
For whatever it was worth, Kamus had little earthly concept of beauty outside of what his former creator looked like... And she was far from a fair soul. Regardless, Allura’s efforts to become less attractive had less of an effect than she may have hoped with the mage... not that much did have an effect. Still. His attention was now as rapt as could be with the lady’s map and door. The source of this effect, the limitations, the potential all swirling around in his mind and leaving him... Pleased. Satisfied, even.
“I assure you my assistance would scarcely be considered unhelpful... Nor your company anything less than pleasant.” His tone was as controlled as it could be for his mental form, though he took pains to avoid coming off as soulless... A touch of vigour in the last statement, for instance, though restrained to avoid issue. Such frustrations when dealing with people, saying what you meant seemed so much more... Effective. Ah well.
Taking his place aside her and nearer to the door, he allowed his two hands to curl up slow, smiling the same warm grin. “Please, do not fear for my sake, let us be off. And know that I will not allow harm to come to you while I travel alongside you, Miss.” One final bow to the blonde lady, sweeping a hand to the door. If she refused, he would likely just follow her to the source of this door regardless... It had his peaked interest. But if she did accept, he would abide by his honour and follow her suit. Although... the notion of being denied entry was rather new to the mage. Normally few people tried.
Hey you remember that huge ass log Ash ran with and tossed in that one episode? Well I calculated how much the log weighs, if you're interested.
You have my attention
I decided to start from the scene where the Bagon originally landed on the log.
Okay, was about to land on it. Point is, it’s the same log Ash threw. Now, Bagon is about 2 ft tall, and since he’s directly above the log, I can get an accurate measurement.
(That was as good as I could get on iPhone Photoshop.) Okay, so the log is 6.5 Bagons long. Multiplying that by two, it’s 13 feet. Now, the calculator I was using required diameter on both ends. I’d say the log’s diameter is fairly consistent all the way around, so I only needed to find one end. For that, I used this image.
The Bagon is a bit far away, but I think the log has roughly the diameter of the height of a Bagon. Two feet, which translates to 24 inches.
Now if you have looked at the top, there was only one thing left I needed to input. Doing some further episode watching, I found the trees in the area looked similar to cottonwood trees. (No image available because I was a tired shit from doing all of that math and bad Photoshopping, so I didn’t take a picture. The episode is called Pinch Healing if you are a tree expert and want to see for yourself. Also, keep in mind that I am anything but a tree expert. All I did were a few Google searches.) So I put in that the tree was cottonwood, and here is the result:
Satoshi/Ash Ketchum, a ten year old boy, almost effortlessly picked up, ran with, and tossed a log that weighed an astounding 1,385 pounds (or about 628.23 kilograms)!
1,385 pounds
The strongest Pokemon we never knew
((You know what this means? If Ash had wanted to, he could’ve THROWN the Snorlax blocking the river in the first series…It only weighs up to around a thousand pounds.
In fact he could lift any pokemon aside from the heaviest legendaries. He could even left Regigigas and Kyogre. The only pokemon he couldn’t lift are
Giratina in both forms, Dialga, Mega-Metagross, Mega-steelix, and Groudon in both forms. EVERYTHING ELSE IS LIGHT ENOUGH FOR HIM.
Arceus, is only HALF the weight of that log. ASH COULD SUPLEX GOD))
Suddenly this makes so much more sense

Allura watched, even her thoughts were quiet as he pressed the book between his palms. He was a source of magic she had not come across before. This alone made him and the magic very rare. “If you wish then I will allow for you to make copies of my journals. I write down all the information in the books I have collected before turning them in to my school headmaster. As for how I came to be here and there and everywhere you have been; it is a simple magic door which comes and goes at my will and is linked to the books I must find. “ If this was all he was going to ask for then she was set to leave him be. Unless he did with to copy her journals which could take days. It had been a slip she should not have made, but the mute had thought getting this book a bit too easy for her normal life luck. Taking the book and placing it carefully into her backpack, only after flipping carefully through a few pages to be sure, Allura turned to him once again. “You have made this fairly easy for me and if you wish to copy my journals I will allow it but I ask only that you do it quickly and in my guard. Some of the information I have stored might very well be dangerous in the wrong hands. I can only hope, at this point, that you do not have those hands.”
“You have my word. My hands only seek to find what knowledge these many worlds have to offer.” With the book out of his hands, Kamus let the broom drift back to his hand, twirling and planting it aside him as his red eyes glanced over Allura’s robed form. “Such is my place, such is all I have ever been since my creation.”
Even still, the words alone she had spoken stirred thoughts in the chaos mage’s mind. How did she come into possession of this door? Why seek this knowledge herself for this school? Why did she not speak with such an eloquent mental voice? All thoughts bouncing about his head as he gazed her over... Then finally let his eyes close, having come to something resembling a conclusion. A plan. A method he would use to find what he sought so much.
“In that case. I would request the opportunity to accompany you on your travels for these books, in exchange for the chance to copy the journals you so carefully write. To further earn my place, you will have my services in accomplishing what tasks you have. This would allow me to study your magical door, and perhaps one day this school you speak of.” Nothing in magic was truly simple. Energy flow, energy manipulation, conjuration, abjuration, summoning of spirits, of living creatures, projection, destruction... All aspects of the craft that interlocked in a seamless web, if one knew where to look. And Kamus was looking close. There was something resembling joy spread across his face, at the mere prospect of so much knowledge he had yet to find. “Is this acceptable?”

The finger to her forehead started her rather easily. The siren pulled back and stared at him, though the message was clear before the contact was broken. Still his words continued even after said contact was broken, causing the monster female to rub the spot he had tapped.
She assumed that if she could hear him this way, then he could hear her thoughts as well and quickly the siren mentally locked away her demons even further back into the darkness of her mind. “I am not sure I have any information you could not find on your own. It is clear you can cross dimensions as I can so the information should be easy enough for you to find.”
As for his formal introduction, the siren fell into a role she knew too well. Acting formal in even the most awkward situation was part of her elven world job. The girl gave a gentle nod of her head, angling her chin just a bit as she did, causing a few golden strands to break free from their ponytail. “I am the book collector known as Allura. I also am not from this place nor any of the other five worlds I have chased you through. “
“Then we are both strangers of this land... A delightful occurrence. But still... I imagine you will be wishing for this.” With a slight smile across his face, his hands travelled to the mage’s bag, pulling free the book on dragons in question... before laying it flat upon one palm, and pressed on top by the other.
“Although I could attempt to learn what knowledge I seek through my own methods, such techniques are not always fruitful. Or efficient. As such, I would like to request to know how you came to travel dimensions... In exchange for this.” His palm descended, as the pages of the book seemed to compress, or vanish into each other... until the covers of the book met in the flat of his grip. Then, with a slight breath from the mage, the covers duplicated, and like air into a balloon both were filled with the same breadth of pages as before. The original... And a duplicate.
“You may keep the original, intact, and still likely connected to what magic you had used to track myself. The other... I will keep. If that is fair.” Another slight bow. Kamus had long since learned to make deals using his powers, especially ones that benefitted both parties at as little expense as possible. Such was the upbringing of a court mage... Even one in as odd circumstances as he.
This is what you’ve sunk to, Tumblr. Framing ads in giant posts on my dash for nonsense like this. Fraudulent nonsense, no less. Is it worth it? Is it really? Because I don’t know about you but I don’t like those ads. They disturb me and irritate me. Now you’re not just letting them pop up around the border, you’re framing them and putting them front and centre on my blog.
GREAT.

Instincts made her flinch and she was quick to move out of the way as the …thing…made a nosedive for her. Allura stared at the man in the cloak who sat so casually on a broom. Maybe he expected her to be shocked…but the way he stared at her seemed odd. Allura turned away for a moment to look at her map. Sure enough…he had the book. The siren gave a quick nod and sat down her backpack. She riffled through it and took out a small bag of gold, a pen and a tablet to write on. The hooded figure turned back to the man and wrote on the fresh page..”I am in need of a book on the dragon wars. It is in your possession and I am willing to pay handsomely for it.”
Her method of communication was odd, to say the least. Did she lack vocal chords? She didn’t appear to, but the mage decided against testing her on such matters. The only question was how to respond to her demand, and that was reasonable enough. The gold was effectively useless to him, but the magic she held, and potentially the knowledge she had, could be useful to the travelling chaos mage.
Hovering down just so, his fingertip slipped down and tapped upon her forehead, hopefully before she could react, connecting their minds to a simple magical link. As such, to avoid complications with the written language slowing down conversation, and the distinct possibility she couldn’t hear him verbally, he instead spoke mentally. “I do not seek your money, though a trade in wisdom would be suitable. However, introductions first.”
Slipping up onto the broom’s handle, one of his robed arms crossed in front of his torso, the other behind, before bowing deep. “Kamus Magik., of another dimension than this. I am a chaos mage seeking knowledge and purpose. And you are?”

Allura moved around the alleyway, searching the walls and dumpsters. She would scream in frustration, if she could. Still the mute only clicked her tongue again. Great. Now I smell like trash and still do not have the book. The siren looked up on the off chance there was some ladder she was missing. She needed to find this book about the dragon wars. It was something the headmaster had demanded of her. She could not fail on this book out of any of the ones on her list. Still…As she looked above…she could have sworn she spotted something…odd. Was that a bird way up there? Just flying in one spot? No…what was it?
Down.
And keep going down.
That was the best instinct he could have... The thread of magic was thin, but strong. And it seemed to tug at the book in his bag with a force that could be felt whichever dimension he went to. As it turned out, it’s source was... Down.
So down he flew, casually lying back as the broom nosedived toward the ground, screaming through the air faster and faster... Until he could see a robed figure and a flash of blonde at the ground... Coming to an almost screeching halt in the air above her. Red eyes that had gazed into oblivion and creation stared down at her, still leaning back casually and waiting for her reason to seek him. ...Or the book, as it were.

Allura stared at the moving arrow on the map she held out in front of herself. This was starting to become a little more than irritating. She had closed in on the location of the book in question many times, but she could never seem to find it. The…it would vanish completely and appear in another world or dimension all together. This time she would going to find the damn thing. Clicking her tongue against her teeth, she moved forward, map out and hood covering her face. She was not going to loose it this time….she thought to herself as she turned the corner and looked around at the dead end alleyway. She glanced back to the map. the arrow clearly said she was right on top of the book, but where?
Once again? Once again the mage was left blinking, almost confused, as he felt the sensor’s magic over him. Where it was coming from, he wasn’t sure, but his divination were hardly ever wrong. Kamus was sure of it... Someone was tracking him. Which was frustrating to say the least.
One leg curled casually over the other, soaring through the cloud line on the back of his broom, his bag of books and assorted goods tied to the back of the magical transportation. Out of patience for such tricks, he slowed to a halt... Concentrating and searching for that thread of magic that was connected to somewhere around him... ...That book?
