Slytherin Kandi Cuff Tutorial
This tutorial was requested by an anon! They asked for an easy Slytherin tutorial. I’m not too sure how easy this one is, but it if definitely Slytherin :)
1. You gotta have a perler pattern to put on here. I used one from google but I have lost the link to it ): I’m really sorry that I can’t link back to this. I didn’t find it on kandipatterns.com
2. You gotta iron it too.
3. These are the things you will need: string, beads, perler piece, and scissors.
4. Go ahead and make a single in this kind of pattern. It has to be a pattern of 2-1-2-1
5. String through one of the 1 beads. We will call these your connector beads from now on.
6. Add on three beads. They don’t have to be 1a-1b-1a (a = 1st color, b = 2nd color), but this will help you distinguish which one will be your connector bead and give it a nice look when it’s done. :)
7. String through the next connector bead to secure the new three beads.
8. Do the same thing all the way around. Tie it off and cut the extra string.
9. String through one of your new connector beads. This is the middle bead in your group of 3.
10. Add on three new beads. I am alternating the colors of my connector beads only because I know how it’ll look. You don’t have to do this.
11. Secure your new beads by stringing through the next connector.
12. Do this all the way around again. Tie it off and cut the extra string.
13. String through another connector bead.
14. Add on three new beads.
15. Secure them by stringing through the next connector.
16. Do this all the way around, tie it off, and cut the extra string.
17. String through another connector bead. We’re going for a triple x base which is 3 X’s you will be able to see when it’s done.
18. Add on three more beads.
19. Secure these beads through the next connector.
20. Do this all the way around again. Tie it off and cut the extra string.
21. String through another connector. There are only a few more layers left!
22. Add on three beads and secure them.
23. Do this all the way around again. Tie it off and cut the extra string.
24. String through another connector bead.
25. Add on three new beads.
26. Secure them through the next connector bead.
27. Do this all the way around. Tie it off and cut the extra string.
28. String through another connector bead.
29. This time only add on TWO beads and make sure they are the same color as you started in your single in step 4.
30. Secure these two beads by stringing through the next connector.
31. Do this all the way around , tie it off, and cut the extra string. Look at my picture for it. When you look at my white connector beads up and down, there are three X’s. If yours isn’t three X’s, you gotta go back and change it.
32. String through (on mine) a white connector bead.
33. Add on five beads. The pattern is all up to you!
34. Secure the new five beads by stringing through the next connector bead.
35. Do this all the way around, tie it off, and cut the extra string.
36. String through (on mine) the white connector bead under the one you started on the last row.
38. String through the middle bead from the five you just added on.
39. Add on two more beads.
40. String through the next connector bead, and this is what it should look like.
41. It’ll take a while, but do this all the way around your cuff. Tie it off and cut the extra string.
42. String through the same connector bead you were just using.
43. Add on five new beads.
44. Secure them through the next connector bead.
45. Do this all the way around your cuff. Tie it off and cut the extra string.
46. String through the last connector bead of the 3.
47. Add on two more beads and secure them through the middle bead from the five you added on in step 43.
48. Add on two more beads and secure them by stringing through the next connector bead.
49. Do this all the way around your cuff. Tie it off and cut the extra string.
50. String through the middle bead of the top row of five. (If that makes sense) Add on five beads and secure them through the next connector bead. I’m going to add on my perler piece right now. There are many ways to do it, but this is the way that I did it and maybe it’s helpful to you if you’ve never done it before.
51. I added on a bead after playing around with how my cuff will look with the perler on there without the bead. I decided I needed this bead here otherwise I would have live string showing and I personally hate live string. lol
52. I string through one spot I wanted to secure my perler.
53. I went through the hole right next to it. Sometimes you have to make your own hole.
54. I added another bead.
55. I secured the front of my perler through the next connector bead.
56. I then added three beads because without them I would have had live wire.
57. Then I secured them through the next connector.
58. I’m not too sure why I put this picture. But I did string through two more holes on the right side of my perler.
59. Then I added on one more bead.
60. I secured it. I needed to pull it really tight for it to sit right, and you might have to do the same thing.
61. I went all the way around doing the 5 bead thing, tied it off, and cut the extra string.
62. Now I’m ready to secure the bottom of my perler piece. So I strung through one connector on the bottom layer of my cuff.
63. I added on five beads again.
64. Here I am adding those random three beads so I don’t have live string.
65. I secured the three beads.
67. I strung through my perler piece.
68. I added one more bead and secured it. Again, I had to pull it tight to get it right.
69. I went all the way around my piece adding 5 beads, tied it off and cut the extra string.
70. I AM DONE! This is the finished result!
