ć»Being married to Aragorn would include...being loved until death and then beyond.
ć»The love you share for each other is eternal. Unending. Unyielding.
ć»There is no such thing as disloyalty with Aragorn, not even the slightest worry of it. In his mind, he belongs utterly and completely to you.
ć»You have his heart.
ć»And when you first met, your heart was beating so fast you were worried he could hear it.
ć»But his heart was mirroring yours.
ć»Aragorn is a man who does not do things lightly. He always lives up to his promises.
ć»And when he says, "I love you," you know the truth of it in your bones.
ć»Being married to Aragorn also means you hold a lot of responsibility in your own hands.
ć»People look to both of you for guidance, advice and most of all, hope.
ć»You've also become close with those from the Fellowship as Aragorn invites them to Minas Tirith and AnnĆŗminas.
ć»Merry and Pippin have taken a particular like to you...with Pippin forming a slight crush...
ć»Legolas does like to visit more often. And Gimli is never far behind.
ć»With your husband as the first High King of the Reunited Kingdom of Gondor and Arnor, he is often doing very important Kingly duties.
ć»What you didn't expect, was that Aragorn wanted your opinion in these matters. And not just behind closed doors, but in the moment.
ć»You are present during the meetings, your ideas and solutions are listened to and revered. (Not just by Aragorn, but the people as well.) You are loved throughout the kingdoms.
ć»When it is night and you are alone with your husband, you've noticed that he hums. And sometimes, without realising it, he'll sing.
ć»It always puts a smile on your face.
ć»When it's time for bed, you've both started this tradition when you tell each other the highlight of the day.
ć»And even though he doesn't snore, Aragorn does have very vivid dreams & nightmares.
ć»Some nights you've found him staring out over the land. His arms leaning against the railing. His hair moving with the wind.
ć»It's those times that you get out of bed and wrap your arms around him. Helping the nightmares to shed from his mind.

Can we please talk about the fandoms mistreatment of the House Of Godric Gryffindor? because Im so sick of the way people portray gryffindors as impulsive loud meat heads who have no thoughts.
The House of Godric Gryffindor Values the following traits
Integrity
Courage
Conviction
Vitality
Nerve
Chivalry
These Traits, I feel jk rowling being the abhorrant writer that she is, failed to expound on. Currently the harry potter fandom is taking all of gryffindors positive traits and fishing it off to Hufflepuff or Slytherin for the sole reason of some twisted revenge, you can go ahead and say its 'not that deep' and youre right, its not, but shallow waters need to be stepped into in order to determine their depth.
All houses-- in order to compensate for the depth jk rowling failed to give them-- have resorted to stripping away gryffindors depth and stealing it for themselves in a desperate attempt to add nuance into their house values.
First off lets address the fact that hogwarts houses arent sorted on the basis of your personality but on your values. That means even snape, who most people in this fandom stupidly believe is a gryffindor could be sorted into slytherin if he so chooses to prioritise his ambitions over his integrity, you fools.
Gryffindors are sorted into their houses not on the basis of their impulsivity but the strength of their integrity and conviction. when one has a motive strong enough to defend, they will become impulsive. This is why slytherins aren't impulsive people because ambition requires calculation. Hufflepuffs are steady because loyalty and community requires diligence. Ravenclaws are Avoidant because intelligence requires analysis which fuels individualism(one of their house values) and this is why most people think gryffindors are 'impulsive meatheads', because gryffindors value something that can only be defended by impulsivity. gryffindors value strong conviction and courage meaning they are so incredibly self sacrificing for their values (which every house is, as nymphadora sacrificed herself for loyalty, Helena sacrificed her life just to not hand over her intellectual autonomy, Voldemort sacrificed his soul for his ambition) that in the face of danger they would rather march head on and than sit back and wait.
Gryffindors legit HAVE to be impulsive in some way to protect their values because chivalry requires it just as ambition requires calculation. they arent meat heads, infact minerva mcgonagal and hermione granger were the most intelligent people in the books and were constantly showed as people who used their intellect as a tool to do whats right but in the end their hearts had the final vote over their heads.
A Ravenclaw uses their intellect as a way to avoid danger whereas a gryffindor uses their intellect as a contingency plan before stepping into danger. Hermione wasnt in gryffindor just because she was small minded but also because she relied on her intelligence to get her out of trouble, not to avoid it entirely.
One thing people often say is that Gryffs are Glory seekers. have.. we read the same book???? Because yes some gryffindors are glory seekers and that is their houses common flaw just like any other house has their flaws (slytherin for selfishness/cruelty, Hufflepuffs for being Compliant/dependent, Ravenclaws for being Pretentious/Withdrawn) yet i dont see other houses having their flaws as highlighted as gryffindors' in mainstream media?
Neville longbottom is the best example of a true gryffindor. people take nevilles characteristics and plaster them on hufflepuffs claiming that hufflepuffs are more righteous and better versions of gryffs because.. they are humble?.. there are countless characters in gryffindor who were incredibly humble starting off with Lily potter who was defined as 'uncommonly kind'.
The House of Helga Hufflepuff Values the following Traits
Diligence
Community
Modesty
Fairness
Patience
Loyalty
these are all passive, communal, external traits, and by that I mean these traits dont value inner principles and integrity but rather fairness on the basis of societal principles. hufflepuffs dont value fairness the way gryffindors value integrity because integrity is an internal moral code and Fairness is an externally based value.
a hufflepuff values fairness because that is what creates a fair community and ensures equality so that everyone may have an opportunity. Gryffindors value their Morality because anything otherwise is simply wrong and unjust, they judge on the basis of their individual morals not taking into consideration what affect that may have on the community but rather the affects it may have on the individual. (thats not to say that hufflepuffs are dependent as a group or that they dont have individualism and integrity, they do, its just not what they VALUEEE PEOPLE *gosh personality and values are different*)
a hufflepuff would prefer peace and so they wouldnt take part in war unless its out of loyalty because they view war as something that is unfair and they would much rather remain passive then fall prey to an unfair system. But a Gryffindor would know that war is something that is inevitable to achieve peace and if you dont correct the system yourself then you are just as bad because to a gryffindor being a bystander is a fate as good as death for them.
Gryffindor isnt the loud stupid impulsive house nor is it the hero house, its the house of conviction and you cant be brave if you wait around for a green light saying yup this is the safest way for you. We gryffindors would be reckless and put OUR lives in danger but we would ensure with everything we've got that the heat is only directed towards us and no one takes the damage but us. when faced with the choice of doing what you think is right our bodies move like a machine before a thought is made up and yes thats reckless we admit it, but every house falls into a bad trait when faced with the fear of failure
Slytherins fall into cruelty or selfishness when faced with failure
Gryffindors fall into Recklessness and Self righteousness when faced with injustice
Ravenclaws fall into Pretentiousness or Apathy when facing belittlement
Hufflepuff fall into stagnation or compliance when faced with Discord
The stereotype that gryffindors aren't humble-- when integrity is literally their core value and most people view modesty as a part of their moral code-- is simply insaneeeee.
Also can we pleaseeee change the aesthetic for gryffindors as we have for the other houses because the whole cozy kitschy weasley aesthetic is so tasteless and ew, thank you very much.
Gryffindors should be portrayed as lions in silk rather than wool and hot chocolate just as slytherins have branded themselves with champagne and elegance.
also ykw while we're at it lemme just remind you of the other houses core values
The House of Salazar Slytherin Values the following traits
Fraternity
Ambition
Shrewdness
Calculation
Resourcefulness
Strategy
The House of Rowena Ravenclaw Values the following traits
Individualism
Wit
Knowledge
Observation
Creativity
Intelligence
there. now stick to these.
All Houses are equal. the sorting hat never makes mistake only jkr does. Stop comparing the houses. There can be,
a bitchy Hufflepuff
a snooty elitist Gryffindor
an awkward and kind Slytherin
a punkish loud Ravenclaw
Because values and personalities are very very very different and none is greater than the other.
also fuck those bitches making them hogwarts party tiktoks because why is there so much house racism towards gryffindors
NO WE WOULDNT SNITCH AND WE LEGIT HAVE NERVE AS OUR VALUE WE'D OUT PARTY ALL YOU BITCHES šš¼
Iāve been thinking about this a bit, and Iād love to hear your opinion on it. I find it kind of strange when people act as if (most) Slytherin kids didnāt grow up in seriously messed-up circumstances. Like, sure, from what weāve seen they werenāt necessarily directly abused, but they were basically raised in a cult. Or at least raised by a cult?
In Dracoās year, literally every boy except Blaise Zabini had a Death Eater father. So all of them grew up with at least one parent who was a mass murderer? (Thatās my assumption, anyway we never get a clear breakdown of what being a Death Eater entails, but itās definitely not harmless.)
And on top of that, theyāre not allowed to leave that cult-like environment. Andromeda being burned off the family tree makes a kind of sense, since she married a muggleborn. But Sirius was disowned just for rejecting pureblood ideology and running off to the Potters, who are purebloods themselves.
And that threat will always loom over their head even if they donāt actually have anyone in the family das did get disgraced or not.
I get that Draco was a mean kid. And yes, he had two loving parents, and heāll never have to work a day in his life. But I still think itās somewhat flawed to claim he had a āgoodā childhood. His father could love him more than anything, but if that father is also a mass murderer who tortures people, thatās still incredibly damaging. No amount of money can make that okay for a child.
Also if the threat of getting kicked out of your family for not being prejudice is constantly in the back of your mind isnāt really the best thing for child development.
I've seen a lot of people say that Slytherins "got what they deserved" either because they were bigots or children of bigots (which I honestly find terrible), and I think these are people who are completely disconnected from the reality of how individuals act or how the idiosyncrasy works in environments deeply affected by ideologies or beliefs that border on the sectarian. As I've said many times, I went to a Catholic school where a lot of kids were from Opus Dei families, and Opus Dei is an ultra-Catholic, highly sectarian group whose families are forbidden from having relationships with former members. If you watch any documentary on the subject, you might be horrified by the mechanisms they use not only to recruit new generations but also to create in children and teenagers an absolute emotional and psychological dependence on that environment and to provoke in them a need to be part of the community. Also, they become extremely vulnerable because their families belong to that community, and all of their support networks are tied to it.
People love to bring up Andromeda and Sirius, but they donāt like to mention that Andromeda and Sirius had somewhere to go. Andromeda married Ted Tonks and was disowned by her family because of it. But she had Ted, and probably Tedās family too. She had somewhere to go, she had a future, she had emotional support. Sirius not only distanced himself from that sectarian environment thanks to ending up in Gryffindor āmeaning he had the privilege of making friends completely disconnected from that worldā but also had the enormous privilege of his best friend being just as wealthy as him and able to take him in. He had social and economic support, he had resources. Most teenagers or young people who are in tightly closed, highly sectarian communities donāt have those kinds of options, itās not as easy as just leaving because it means giving up your whole life: your parents, your friends, your home, everything. One of my friends attempted suicide several times after leaving the cult because her family cut ties with her. I've known people who ended up with severe psychiatric issues because of the pressure they felt from wanting to leave but not knowing how. Then I have another friend who left and to this day has a toxic relationship with her family because she can't be with them but also canāt be without them, and not even years of therapy have helped her fix this. Itās not something you can just do easily, itās not as simple as packing your bags and leaving because the emotional implications are huge, especially when it literally means cutting yourself off from your entire environment.
Slytherin feels like that to me. Parents indoctrinate their kids because they were previously indoctrinated by their own parents. They stick together and operate in the same social circles, everything they know is Slytherin people, and all their emotional anchors and safe attachments are within that circle. So what are they supposed to do? They can't even find relief at school because they literally live with those people. Leaving their family would also mean leaving the house they belong to in school, because they wouldnāt be able to handle the stigma and ostracism of living with people who despise them. We're talking about children and teenagers. And Sirius is a terribly convenient case because he didn't have to face rejection at his Hogwarts house, nothing changed for him there. He had a different house, his own safe space. No Slytherin kid would be that lucky. You canāt make moral judgments by pointing to characters who not only had opportunities that others didnāt, but also had tools, resources, and escape routes, things others simply didnāt have. We know Draco didnāt really want to be a Death Eater and didnāt want to kill or torture people either. He was forced to do it because otherwise the cult would punish his parents. Thatās exactly how these groups operate: if they see youāre not on board or want to back out, they threaten your family as coercion. What was Draco supposed to do? Ask his aunt for help, who happened to be Voldemortās right hand? His parentsā friends, who were just as deep in the cult as they were? His housemates and friends, whose families were involved too? Weāre talking about a 16-year-old boy who suddenly finds himself alone and forced to kill someone or watch his family die. And itās not like he joined that world by choice, not even before knowing how awful it was. His parents got him into it long before he was old enough to decide anything for himself.
A lot of people blame them for not taking sides in the war. What did you expect them to do? Kill their own parents, uncles, cousins, grandparents? It doesnāt make sense. Of course they didnāt do anything, the only thing they did was survive. We're talking about children and teenagers, a huge number of whom have families in the Death Eaters or are at least connected to them in some way. Are you seriously expecting them to start killing members of their own family? Teenagers? Are we insane? And why should they do that? To help people whoāve always judged and despised them? That doesnāt make sense either.
Itās also worth noting, for example, that Siriusās experience is not the norm. He was at odds with his mother, but that wasnāt the case for his brother Regulus. It also wasnāt the case for Draco, and from what we know, Dracoās friends didnāt have problems with their families either. Generally speaking, the children of Death Eaters or Slytherins come from wealthy families without major internal drama. The thing is, itās easy to start questioning your surroundings when thereās a rupture in your home life. But if your parents have always treated you well, if youāve been a happy child and everything around you has always seemed how itās "supposed" to be, why would you question anything? To you, your parents and family are the good guys, and the people who say otherwise are the same ones who shun you at school, who take the House Cup away from you, who label you as evil. This kind of apartheid-like behavior toward certain problematic groups is exactly what promotes their radicalization. Because thinking youāre doing social good by excluding them actually just reinforces their views and validates the āus versus themā narrative theyāve been taught since birth. If Dumbledore treats them like future criminals, then obviously theyāll become future criminals, itās a self-fulfilling prophecy. Because youāre not making an effort to educate them or give them the tools to see other options, and at the same time youāre not offering any kind of path or way out for those who might want to question their beliefs or their situation. Because if they try to leave, all they see is that outsiders are also turning their backs on them. So honestly, I think the whole way Slytherins are treated in the story is completely insane from a victimological, psychotherapeutic and educational point of view. It makes no sense, and it shows a terrible lack of sensitivity and empathy.
I think the people who so easily judge these kinds of environments based simply on the fact that certain ideologies are clearly wrong have no idea how cults actually work, or how they make the community the center of their membersā entire lives, or how they create the perception that this community is the whole world. And I think before people spout nonsense and start talking about Nazis or racists or whatever, they should at least watch a couple documentaries on the subject, but I guess itās easier to be a bunch of ignorant folks who think theyāre cool just for throwing around some modern buzzwords without doing any real soul-searching about how oppressive mechanisms actually work in this world. And no, sorry, but Iām not going to demonize 11- to 17-year-olds who end up caught in cults. Iāve known too many people who have ended up destroyed by this to disrespect them so terribly. In fact, if I feel sorry for Draco, itās precisely because he reminds me of those people Iāve known, people who, during their childhood, were fully convinced that where they were was where they were supposed to be, and that everyone else was wrong, but who later ended up in a psychiatric hospital.
Pureblood families raise their children in libraries, where books smell of dust and the blood of ancestors. They are taught that honor is more precious than life, and that a single mistake is a crime against the lineage. They learn Latin, yet never learn how to ask for help; they read of heroism, but how many are truly ready to become heroes themselves?
In the end, some turn into weapons, others into monsters, while a few find the courage to be neither... and they pay for it as their childhood homes shut their doors, as if they had never existed at all.
RIP everyone in hogwarts, no matter what house color ur in, you probably like the other houses more
imagine;
harry liking blue and hermione liking the ravenclaw colorsā and SPECIFICALLY those two colors
and then the slytherins oh my god
the day people find out that draco "100% slytherin" malfoy's favorite color is red or blue and not slytherin green would be the end of humanity
since im kind of a snape blog i gotta throw him in here so because he has a lot of feminine traits people point out i do think his favorite would be a deep ass shade of purple (not bc its my favorite color too but i mean its still a dark colorš)
