Decided to make a pinned post since I’ll be posting here regularly!

You can call me Kandi! I use they/he pronouns. This account is dedicated to the variety of stuff I collect! I’ll try to post consistently on here but I may take occasional breaks as needed.

I collect playline dolls, porcelain dolls, bjds & mjds, action figures, figurines, and plushies!

My dms are always open! I’m always down to talk about dolls and stuff. I’m also looking to have more mutuals and friends on here!

THIS IS A STRICTLY SFW BLOG!!! I’ve seen some people on here do nsfw stuff with their doll accounts and that’s not content I have any interest in posting or engaging with. So please keep that stuff away from me. I will block if necessary.

To get a bit personal, I’ve always had an interest in toys and collectibles. But I didn’t start consistently collecting until I was around 15. Before that most of what I had was just things from my childhood. But that changed due to a bunch of stuff that was happening in my life at the time. For me collecting is about reconnecting with my inner child and bringing joy into my life. Most of the stuff I collect I have some sort of an emotional attachment to, especially my dolls. I also enjoy making up personalities and stuff for my dolls. It’s something that I’ve always done (I blame it on the fact that I’m an artist and I enjoy making ocs lol). I don’t really bother doing that for my playline dolls since they normally have their own personalities and stuff already set up. But I do that with basically all of my other dolls.

I mostly only purchase items that I have a deep connection to or interest in (to save both my wallet and shelf space😭). I do occasionally make some impulsive purchases but I’m careful to keep those to a minimum.

I plan to mainly post photos of my dolls along with my thoughts on them and stuff like that. But occasionally I may post other stuff in my collection that I wanna talk about (I’ll try to keep those sorts of posts to a minimum tho🙂‍↕️).

I FINALLY GOT THIS GIRL SECONDHAND!!!

So in my last post I mentioned how I was going crazy trying to buy Leaf for a decent price. I ended up finding another collector who was selling theirs for $35 and I was super excited about it. Then they disappeared for awhile and it was looking super hopeless. UNTIL I MESSAGED THEM ONE LAST TIME AND THEY RESPONDED!!! They apologized, said they were busy and it was all good. SO I BOUGHT HERRR!!! IM SO EXCITED FOR HER TO ARRIVE!!!!!! Leaf was my fav out of all the pb mermaids and I’ve been looking for her since they first came out. WHICH WAS LITERALLY THREE YEARS AGO😭 I decided to go into the series blind and got Jellyfish instead (which is alright cuz I adore her!). But I still was hoping to get Leaf before they discontinued the series. AND I DID!!! I’m so beyond excited about her. I’ve already been thinking of how I want to pose her for my display!

I do like some of the other designs in this series like cang coral and dawn, but I don’t think I’ll be able to get them anytime soon if at all. The prices secondhand are a bit much in my opinion, and from what I’ve seen there aren’t really any places that you can buy them brand new anymore. I also heard that pb is discontinuing this series so it’ll be even harder to find them, especially for a decent price. So unless I find them for a good price I won’t bother. I’m super happy to have jellyfish and leaf tho! I’m also hoping to be able to get one of the dragons at some point because I wanted the purple one ever since they came out. Hopefully I’ll find it soon!

I’m also so excited for the new pb mermaid dolls!!!! I have yet to see any concept art or even any ideas for what direction they’ll be taking the new series. All I saw was the prototype body and the fact that the scale is supposed to be much larger. So far they look pretty cool! I’ll have to see their finalized prototypes before I let myself get too excited about them. But from the pictures it’s looking promising so far! As long as one is cute I’ll be happy (I have an obsession with aquatic themed dolls and I NEED MORE OF THEM).

It's been a minute! Making myself work through our backlog of half-finished projects before we let ourselves start any new ones so here's our little satyr with her wig finally styled and the base layer on her antlers painted.

Still not sure what to name her, I'm leaning toward something woodsy that would match or at least sound good with Nutmeg.

found this head & a pair of wings in my box of misprints & unused doll parts -> put them together and gave her a faceup as a chill little project.

it's not quite spring yet where i live, but it's getting there. hence i made some seasonal lil buds. they're about 12cm tall, the head sprout included, so very tiny very precious.

another teapot animal head variant, because this sculpt is comforting to revisit. i find the speculative biological implications of the tea cup babies disturbing, but have willed them into existence regardless.

most of the paints i used on this doll glow in the dark, which also makes her look ultra saturated in regular light. she turned out mega cute & i love her.

art allows us to ask important questions, such as "what if an apple core was a small girl?"

i'll hopefully be printing a green apple version soon, because there are some styling & faceup choices i want to try with this sculpt. also i couldn't decide what to do with her mouth, so version 1.0 is mouthless, but i want to give the next one a cute grin.
