I managed to get this girl secondhand last week!!!
Leopard wave was the last one from the epets s1 common designs that I wanted. Once she arrives I’ll have four of the common designs and I think that’ll be it for my epets collection. I’m super excited for her to arrive!!! I’ve been trying to find her secondhand for a decent price for agesss. I could have bought her from kika but I wasn’t too interested since the price they gave me was kinda high (apparently their stock is low and that’s why it was so high). I originally wanted lace cat paradise as well but I’ve since changed my mind about her. She’s a pretty doll but sadly I’m not 100% in love with her so I can’t justify getting her.
I’ve also seen some of the stuff for epets s2 but I haven’t been too interested in them tbh. After seeing the art and early sculpting stages the main one I wanted was the sea bunny girl and I also was interested in the wolf girl. But after seeing pictures of their prototypes I just haven’t been too impressed. I’m hoping that maybe I’ll feel different after I see more photos. Especially because I was extremely excited for the sea bunny girl (I have an obsession with aquatic themed designs). But I wasn’t super pleased with her face or the way her hair piece looked. I loved her outfit though! I did kinda wish that her top was a bit more fitted but that would be an easy fix. Her face and hair just put me off. And when it comes to the wolf girl I wasn’t super pleased with her outfit. To me it looked a bit cheap and there’s something about it that’s throwing me off. I can’t tell if it’s the shape of it or the way it fits on her, but either way I’m not interested in it. I do really like the wolf girls face and hair though, so far she’s super pretty!! The other designs were pretty interesting in the art and early sculpting phase, but their prototypes haven’t interested me at all lol
I’m hoping that with better pictures I’ll feel differently but if not I’ll be skipping s2. Either way I’m still super happy with my s1 dolls and I’m happy for everyone who’s enjoying the s2 stuff we’ve been shown so far! From what I’ve seen a lot of people are showing love for the new designs and that’s been nice to see!
I love love love this series!!! In general i love a lot of the older penny’s box series, especially the fantasy ones! I got this girl as a Christmas gift last year and I have been utterly obsessed with her since then! I absolutely adore mermaid dolls (and anything aquatic themed tbh). I went into this series blind (but I was hoping for the green mermaid🥲) and I managed to get jellyfish on my first pull! Out of all the common designs she was my second favorite so I was super happy about getting her.
From my perspective jellyfish has a very ditsy and sweet personality. She’s very friendly and curious, but she often tends to space out and get lost in her own thoughts. She’s a bit air-headed as well and easily becomes distracted, but she makes up for it with her sweet personality and gentle nature. I think she’s generally also pretty calm and easygoing. This girl is one of the few dolls that I named immediately after I opened her!!! I ended up naming her Serena! I’ve always loved the name and it gives me a mermaid vibe. I think I was also partially influenced by Serena Von Boo from monster high😭 In a weird way jellyfish sorta reminded me of her. I think it’s mainly just because the personality that I envisioned for jellyfish sorta reminded me of Serena (but I was also rewatching all the g1 mh webisodes and movies around the time that I got her so maybe it was a subconscious thing?😭).
I have no real issues with this doll at all. Everything from her stringing, to how she poses, and the overall quality has been perfect!!! She holds poses really well, and her faceplate and hairpieces stay together really well too. I actually had a hard time taking it apart the first time I tried to😭 Posing her is also super fun!! She’s super poseable and her tail is pretty easy to work with. She’s one of those dolls that was just perfect straight out of the box. Which I definitely appreciate! But I do sorta wish that her jellyfish theme was embraced more. Aside from her jellyfish hair decoration (and maybe her dress?) nothing about her really screams jellyfish to me. It would’ve been so cool to see a more obvious jellyfish theme for her! I’ve seen a handful of jellyfish bjd’s and they’re always so cool looking. I loveee jellyfish dolls, I wish we would see them more often. Especially from more affordable options like penny’s box!
Overall I really love this girl! I have her displayed on an old mh doll stand and every single time I see her on my shelf I have to take a moment to just stare at her! She’s truly such a gorgeous doll and she’s brought me a huge amount of joy in the time that I’ve had her!!!
I’ve also been trying to get the other girl I wanted from this series, the green mermaid, Leaf. But I’ve had a hard time finding her complete for a decent price secondhand. I was going to get her from Kika a while back but I had the same issue that I had when I was trying to get Leopard wave from them. Which was that they had low stock and were therefore trying to charge me an insane amount to get her. AND WHEN I SAY INSANE I MEAN IT!!! A single doll from this series goes for $30-$35 (brand new). But kika was trying to charge me over $100 for her!!!💀 As much as I want Leaf and adore her design she is nowhere near being worth over $100😭 I actually managed to find another collector who was selling their Leaf for $35 and I was so excited about it! I thought I got lucky. Until they basically ghosted me💀 I’ve reached out several times, hoping to get a response. But it’s been about 3 weeks since they’ve replied to me so it’s looking pretty hopeless right now. Hopefully I’ll get lucky and they’ll respond or maybe I’ll find Leaf for sale elsewhere for a decent price. Either way I just wanna get her!!!😔💔 Wish me luck y’all🥲
Leaf finally arrived last Thursday!!! I am so in love with her design!!! I’ve wanted her since the mermaids first came out like three years ago! (I think😭) it’s so crazy to finally have her but I’m super happy about it! I don’t have any complaints about her so far. I did notice that the color of her dress is a bit more dull than it looked in the stock pics, and that kinda sucked. In the pictures it looked so much more vibrant and even in some of the reviews I’ve seen it looks more colorful. After thinking about it I’m guessing it’s the lighting or maybe editing that makes it look so much more vibrant than it is irl. I’m not mad about it tho! I was just surprised about the difference in color. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that she has a yellow shimmery effect on her hair! I’ve never seen anyone talk about it and it wasn’t shown off in any pictures I’ve seen so I wasn’t aware of it. It honestly looks so pretty under the light! After I got her out of the box I spent a minute just tilting her head around to see the effect. From what I saw it’s mostly on the top of her head, but it’s still cute! I already have another girl from this line so I already knew what to expect quality wise, but once again I was so happy about the quality and poseability. I did notice that she holds her head up a bit better than my other mermaid, and leaf’s dress has a bunch of loose threads that I’ll have to snip but so far those are the only differences that I spotted. I’m so happy to have her!!! I immediately set her up on a doll stand and put her on my shelf. I wanna switch my display around to better pose her and my other mermaid together!
With all that being said getting her was honestly such a headache tho😭 I got her from a fellow collector because I refused to pay the insane price kika was trying to charge. But that was a whole experience💀. I talked with the seller about buying her and then they disappeared for like 2 or 3 weeks (something like that lol). So I thought I wasn’t going to be able to get her, but then I messaged one last time and they responded. I was so excited about it. So I paid the price and shipping and was told that they’d give me an estimated shipping date soon. They already had Leaf on hand so I figured it would be like 3 or 4 days, at most a week, before she would be sent out. A whole week went by without a word from them. I was a bit nervous about it so I messaged them and was told they’d be sending her out over the weekend, which was fine with me. THEN A WHOLE OTHER WEEK WENT BY WITHOUT ANY WORD FROM THEM😭. At that point they hadn’t sent me a tracking number, nor given me any sort of excuse as to why it was taking so long. I’ve bought from other collectors before and haven’t had any issues like this. I started to think i was like scammed or something😭. Especially since I had to hound them for any updates on shipping. I was also getting a bit frustrated tbh. I get that people are busy and that life can be really hectic, but I also feel that if there are delays or anything like that it should be communicated. Especially since I had already paid for everything. The whole radio silence thing was just really annoying and a bit rude in my opinion. I had to send another message checking in since it had already been two weeks since I paid for Leaf and when that went unanswered I had to send ANOTHER message expressing my nervousness and my frustration before they sent me tracking info AND I had to wait almost ANOTHER week just for leaf to be dropped off at the post office. In total I waited a little over three weeks just for her to be sent out.
The long wait time wasn’t even really an issue for me, it was more so the lack of communication that bothered me. I don’t mind waiting a bit for things to be shipped, for the most part I’m very understanding about that sort of thing. But lack of communication is a huge pet peeve of mine😭 Especially when I’m paying for something. I feel that when someone is buying something from you the LEAST that you could do is communicate with them about any issues regarding the item. The whole thing was just so annoying and frustrating, at one point i even considered asking for a refund because the lack of communication was just becoming such a headache. But luckily she arrived safe. She was packed up pretty well and has all of her accessories, so at least I don’t have to deal with that. Overall it was a pretty frustrating experience. I was also pretty anxious about the whole thing, like for a moment there I seriously thought I had been scammed or something💀 It was probably one of the most annoying experiences I’ve had buying secondhand.
I’ll be honest and say that the whole situation sorta soured some of my excitement about Leaf😭 i was honestly pretty anxious and frustrated during most of the wait time so by the time she got here I was just relieved that it was over💀 But once I opened her up my excitement returned so it’s all good. I think I’ll just be a bit more careful with who I buy from and I’m definitely not buying from that seller again. Out of all of my recent dolls she was the first I ordered (I think) and the last I actually received. Which is kinda crazy to me, but I’m just happy to have her.
Anyways, that’s enough yapping for today. I’m still waiting on a riser for my display so sadly it’ll be a bit longer before I have any posts ready. But it should arrive sometime this week so hopefully I’ll have some posts ready for next week!
These girls just arrived on Tuesday!!! I joined a split for them a little over a week ago and it was such a pleasant experience! It was technically my second split (my first was for the mint choco neo Eden girl that I’m still waiting on) but I’m considering this one my first just because it’s already here and it was technically the first one I received lol The host of the split sent it out so fast and was so communicative, it was such a nice experience! I’m so happy about the whole thing. I got three girls that I’ve been wanting for a long time now, and the prices were perfect!
I already have two other girls from this line of neo Eden girls, so I already knew what to expect quality wise. But once again I was so blown away with the quality, and with how pretty both of these girls were. I am so in love with both of their designs. I currently have my neo Eden girls towards the back of my display, just because of their height (and because of how many dolls I have in my bid/mjd cabinet😭). But after getting these two I’m definitely switching my display around to show them off more!! Since these are the last girls I want from this lineup and s2 isn’t interesting me just yet I’m considering getting a few of the Eve Lynna girls soon. I’ve been eyeing treatment from s1 for ages now, and I really really really want Rhythm and Flutteria from s2. I’ve put off getting them since I had other dolls that I was prioritizing more, but I’ve gotten almost all of my most wanted dolls this past year (except for the pb purple dragon that I still desperately want😔💔). So I’ll most likely begin to slowly pick up the other girls that I was putting off sometime in the fall (I want to spend some time enjoying the girls I already have and also get back into some other hobbies that I’ve been neglecting).
I was also blown away by Pella!! She is so incredibly stunning, and her quality is insane! I have a Bonnie girl from the starry night series, and while she is very precious to me she isn’t the highest quality doll in my collection😭 But whether that’s just due to age and wear and tear, or because I got her secondhand is anyone’s guess. She’s my only Bonnie girl so I can’t really speak about the quality of the girls from the other series, but I’ve heard from other collectors that they aren’t the best. Especially compared to the other lines that share their scale. I had heard that the third gen Bonnie’s were pretty good. But I was just so surprised with the jump in quality! From what I was able to look up and what I can recall the starry night series came out in like 2023 and the meteorological series came out in like 2025. But it feels like there’s a much larger gap between them😭 Pella is so different from Moka! From both the style and quality they feel like they could have been made by two separate doll companies, Pella hardly feels like Bonnie doll to me tbh. I don’t mean that in a bad way tho! The change in style was a bit jarring at first, I wasn’t expecting them to completely change the style of the Bonnie girls when they did. But I’ve come to appreciate it! Everything from the quality of the clothes, to the dolls stringing, and even the feel of her is so different from my other Bonnie girl. But I absolutely adore Pella! She was my favorite girl in this lineup so i’m super excited to have her. I’m still eyeing Froge, Lazer, and Selene. I’ve been considering getting them for awhile, but I didn’t wanna go all out and get all of them until I was able to see and handle one irl to decide how I felt about them. But Pella has definitely made up my mind. All three of them have really cute designs and ideally I would like to get at least one or two of them before the line is discontinued. I’m also curious about their newest minty lineup and some leaks I’ve seen for some of their upcoming series. But so far nothing has caught my attention just yet. I’m still considering getting one or two of the older Bonnie girls, but ultimately I’m not entirely sure just because of both pricing and the fact that I feel like there are other lines that I’m currently drawn to more. But I definitely want at least one more girl from the meteorological lineup.
But that’s enough yapping for today! Overall I’m super happy with my girls!!! I plan to sit with them a bit to gather my thoughts on them and enjoy them. I have one more doll currently in transit but after she gets here I’ll have to reorganize my display so unfortunately it’ll likely be a bit before I make a dedicated post to any of my new girls😭
I absolutely adore this series! Fierce puppy is definitely one of my favorite designs from the series. Currently I have three of the six common designs. Which aside from fierce puppy includes snail gear and scarred violence bunny. I’m very fond of almost all of the common designs of this series, I think they’re pretty adorable! I’m still trying to get leopard wave, and I’m thinking of getting Lace cat paradise. Funnily enough despite her name I don’t think fierce puppy comes across as very fierce. From my perspective she has a more subdued and almost sleepy vibe. I think it’s mostly just her expression, with the eye bags and sorta blank face she doesn’t read as fierce or even moody to me. I still really love her and her whole vibe. But I do wish they made her match her design name and made her look more fierce or moody, especially since scarred violence bunny has pretty much the same expression. Sadly this girl is another doll that I don’t have an official name for.(╥﹏╥) I plan on officially naming all of my girls soon though!!! This series is another series that has such cute art! I adore the style and colors so much!!! I wish they would’ve made merch or something with the art, the character cards are cute and I definitely appreciate them, but there isn’t much you can do with them.

I love love love this series!!! Snail gear is my favorite out of all the common designs! That’s mainly just due to her color palette and snail theme though😭 From my perspective she gives off a very ditsy and sweet vibe. Like she’s very air-headed and lost in her own head most of the time but also friendly and kind. This girl is one of the few dolls that I’ve actually named. Her name came to me pretty quickly just because of her colors and vibe. I ended up naming her Peony. I think it suits her, especially since I wanted to name her something nature based because of her colors and snail theme. She reminds me a lot of Mitsuri from demon slayer, I think it’s mainly because of the pink and green hair though. I will say that I had a really hard time dressing her when I first got her. Her shorts were a bit annoying to get on and her belt was a headache. It kept loosening and not wanting to stay in place no matter what I did. It was so irritating that I ended up just hot-gluing her belt to her shorts just so that I didn’t have to keep adjusting it😭 That was the only issue I had with her though. I do really wish that she had some more snail motifs, or even nature themed ones. As it is it isn’t super obvious that she’s snail themed. Overall though she’s one of my favorite dolls in my collection and i’m super happy to have her! I love just seeing her on my shelf, she always brings me joy.
I loveee this girl so much!!! I bought her second hand right at the beginning of the year and I’ve been obsessed with her ever since. I was a huge fan of her design when this series first came out, but I just didn’t have a chance to get her at that time. I feel super lucky and happy that I found her when I did, she was one that I wanted for ages! From my perspective she has a very bubbly, playful, mischievous, and energetic personality. I liked her original name so I kept it and I just call her Moka. I absolutely adore the style of this doll, and the style of the older Bonnie girls in general! I especially loveee the proportions of the doll and the way that her face is stylized. I have no real complaints about the doll. Since I bought mine secondhand there’s a few paint chips on her hair pieces and her stringing isn’t the best, but that doesn’t make me love her any less! She was clearly well loved in her previous home and that makes me happy! I have thought about redressing her, but sadly I haven’t found a clothing set that I think suits her. I’m still looking for the purple girl from this series and one girl from the sweet heart party line, but I doubt I’ll find them since I’ve barely spotted any listings for them😭
I got this girl back in march but I waited awhile to take pictures of her since I wanted to mess around with her and gather my thoughts on her. But now that I’ve had her for a while now I can say that I absolutely adore her! I was a huge fan of her design the second that I saw her but after having her in person that feeling has just skyrocketed. From my perspective she has a reserved personality, i don’t think she’s shy though more so just quiet and observant. Her design reminds me a lot of Homura from Madoka Magica. That was actually what initially drew my interest! I will say that despite how fond I am of her I do have some minor complaints😭 Firstly I’m not a fan of how there was no guide on how to style her bangs to look like the promotional pictures, I just eyeballed it and hoped for the best. But any guidance at all would’ve been helpful, I think that mine look’s alright but it was such a headache to do. Secondly I have noticed some quality issues. Her hat came with a ton of loose threads and came way too tight to fit on her head. When I first dressed her I tried to gently push it onto her head and it actually broke at the back so now it’s super loose, and I don’t even bother trying to have her wear it. I was initially pretty bummed out about it but I don’t mind too much now. Her dress also had a bunch of loose threads that I had to trim down and it doesn’t feel super high quality either, but I like her design a lot so I don’t plan to redress her just yet. Lastly the dolls stringing is a bit iffy, her arms don’t hold poses well and her legs are super tight so she’s a bit kicky. OMG AND I HATEEE THE MATERIAL HER GLASSES ARE MADE OF!!!😭 Despite all that though i love her a lot! She’s pretty unique compared to my other dolls and I just adore the way her face is stylized, I hope that we get more from this studio!! I actually originally bought her as an early birthday gift to myself, funnily enough though she arrived way before my birthday!😭
