Thor (2011): Director’s Commentary

KENNETH BRANAGH: Jaimie Alexander as Sif, an absolute comic geek, she knows more about the comics than most of the people involved with the project. I think she’s from a family of many brothers, and she has also that tomboyish quality that makes her unafraid to be involved with the physical stuff. So, she did a great job of conveying the warrior princess, but she also, as you can see, is quite stunningly beautiful, and brings to Sif’s inner life, as we go through the movie, really quite a complex quality, particularly in relation to what she feels about Thor. It was a very fine, very subtle piece of acting.

TRUE STORY.

So once upon a time when I was like 6 or 7 me and my best friend were going to play one of the Barbie PlayStation games on the PS1. (I don't remember which game). BUT the game froze on the load screen. But for some reason we didn't restart the PlayStation, we just kind of sat there for a few minutes and were talking and stuff. So after a little while a FARTING SOUND comes from the TV and Barbie's voice goes, "Oops, was that ME?!" And then there was like sounds of production people in the background laughing and I heard it, my BFF heard it, and my mom even was there and remembers this! But I CANNOT find for the life of me any evidence that this happened to anyone else but we all remember this happening and 23 year old me is so confused.

Invisible Girl

So I was going through some documents on my computer and I came across this poem I wrote.  I don’t remember writing it, but I know I did. Holy shit.  Apparently I wrote it May 4, 2014.

(Also the fact that I don’t remember writing this kind of affirms the fact that I think I have a type of bipolar disorder but I don’t want to go see anybody about it FML)

“Invisible Girl”

She took a step for all the kids

In classes at her school,

Who never gave the girl a thought

Or bothered ask her name.

 Another step for her mother,

Disgusted by her presence.

Moving forward for her father,

Pushing her away.

 Standing on the edge,

She watches the rapids beneath her.

Crying out a plea for help,

But overwhelmed by silence.

 Another step for a lonely heart,

Wanting to feel loved.

A heart that should be racing,

But has never beat so slow.

 Getting over it seemed impossible

As her only friend suggested.

Another step for her she cried,

The last step would be down.

 Strangers never noticed her,

As they carried on their way.

Hoping for a helping hand,

Hesitating as she trembled.

 None reached out to pull her back,

No one could even see.

The last step seemed so easy,

Finally she was free.

Eliot's eyes in general. Ever noticed he does this thing when he'll look super serious and then he'll blink and his expression has changed completely? He does that a lot. And I love it.
