Playing games with Hange

Everyday when you wake up to the soft morning light casting over the equally soft body of your girlfriend, you can always expect to see them playing some game on their phone. You inch closer to them, leaning your head on their shoulder as you find them playing the day’s Nerdle. You know you’re not great at it, but watching them is always fun. They smile at you with great gentleness as you inspect the problem. 

“Try putting a 4 there and dividing it by the 3,” you suggest.

“Okay.”

They input the numbers. A black 4, a green division sign, and a green 3. 

“Good job,” they praise you.

You smile and dig yourself further into their shoulder.

During these moments, even though you’re just playing some nerdy game, you can’t help but feel soft and tender all over. Lying there with Hange is the greatest peace the world has to offer; nothing else matters but the game and the closeness between you two. 

You continue to work through the problem, each of you making suggestions and trying things out. You propose one more combination and smile when it comes back fully green. Hange turns their head to reward you with a sweet kiss that lingers. Happiness comes easily as they discard their phone to fully turn towards you and press their lips into yours. Their lips are soft and moisturized from aquaphor they applied the night before. Your lips slide together and Hange is so gentle and so tender you can’t think. 

The rest of the morning continues this way, as every morning does with them. More games on Hange’s phone and more kisses until eventually the day calls and you’re forced to get out of bed. 

The feeling of Hange’s lips from the morning never goes away, though.
