Creative workaround for those who haven’t seen it
Someone in the reddit comments made a similar dress inspired by it and posted a pattern with it!
* (Oh, these parentheses I keep opening?
* (I'm collecting them.
* (Right now, I'm 1,762 parentheses deep.
* (Oh, my precious parentheses... (I don't ever want to close them!
* Oh, these parentheses I keep closing?)
* There’s some guy who keeps opening them.)
* Right now, they think they’re 1,762 parentheses deep…)
* But really? They’re all closed.) Thanks to me.)
they're still terming random transfems as i type this i see which does make quite a statement doing this today specifically
watched three girls who reblogged its new blog mutual aidpost (made literally 15 minutes ago) already disappear from its notifs. transfems are not included in their pride :/
QUITE the statement to be nuking transfems at the current accelerated pace right at the start of pride month like this, isn't it
hi !!
i have a fountain pen question for you ! im not sure if you have answered before ,,,,,,, but
do you have any recommendations for hand pain / cramping ? ( aka ones that help you maintain a looser grip / flow nicely without having to press hard etc. ) ,,,
i am new to fountain pens so i donot really know where to start my researching ,,,,
thank you for your time !! have a great day !!! :3
yes yes! so, ideally, you should never be pressing hard with fountain pens at all. spreading the tines (the pronged tip) with pressure is something that is only safe to do with dip pens and special flex nibs. in this way fountain pens are already really great for folks with joint pain and other hand strain issues (like me yayy) since they only need to touch the page lightly to work. (if a fountain pen needs pressure to put down ink then something is wrong with the nib 100% of the time)
beyond that you're looking for pens with wider barrels & lightweight bodies - avoid heavier metal bodied pens & posting (putting the cap on the end) (unless it's one of those short pens that need the end on for a better grip, like the kaweco sport) since longer pens can hang uncomfortably heavy when counterweighted like that. more of a problem if the cap has any metal bits/is heavy.
jetpens has excellent filter searches for body material, diameter, weight, etc so it's really easy to find promising looking ones ^_^
in my experience the most comfortable-to-hold pens i've tried are the lamy nexx & the pelikan twist, and i'm not surprised since they're both wide, plastic bodied pens with rubberized grip sections. stuff like this will be a good place to start looking!
and thanks so much for asking!! always and forever i love talking about fountain pens and also how they feel so nice when hand strain is a concern <3
Hey, hey, look me in the eyes when I tell you this okay? The whole "do trans women or trans men have it worse?" debate going on right now is the most obvious CIA bullshit on earth cause honestly we've both got it pretty shitty and fighting each other isn't helping anyone

Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as “problematic” in class and our professor was like, “That’s cool, but ‘problematic’ doesn’t really mean anything. It means that the thing you’re describing has a problem, and in and of itself that’s not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else it’s not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like you’re trying to say that this is bad, but you don’t want to say ‘bad.’ Is that right?”
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the “bad” thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, “I’m uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.”
Once we stopped calling things “problematic” and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, “that’s racist” or “that’s misogynistic” or “ew capitalism gross” out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, “Uhhh... I’m not sure what’s so bad?” and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I can’t help but think of this professor being like, “Good starting point, now let’s get specific.” I think when we have to commit to saying “that’s ___” it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever we’re claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes it’s art, and it should be full of problems, because that’s what art is.
so funny to me when white american christians are like “ooh i incorporate my religious trauma into my art and thats why i draw these stained glass gothic church gold multi eyed reneissance sculpture angels agnus dei” like i know your protestant southern california ass didnt have any of that. go make some art about this
Damn way to read the assignment and go above and beyond.
the bleakness and sanitized feel of most American protestant churches really is an underused medium.
idk why tf the images were deemed to be ‘violating community guidelines’, but here’s what this post used to look like
