Indulging in internet bullying is something I've consciously avoided. It's one thing to engage in light-hearted teasing with friends online over sports rivalries or whether they're fans of DC or Marvel – that's just friendly banter where everyone's in on the joke. I'll even admit to taking some pleasure in trolling a troll from time to time, turning their own game against them without causing harm. But there is a profound difference between such interactions and the act of directing hostility towards complete strangers across the web.
I've often found myself perplexed by the motivations of those who seem to derive satisfaction from spewing negativity at others they've never met. It appears that some individuals are so ensnared in their own misery or frustration that they choose to project it onto others, using anonymity as a shield. While it's tempting to brush off such behavior with a 'who cares?' attitude because the target is just another faceless internet user, this perspective is dismissive of the human experience.
Every person you encounter online has a life outside of the digital world, replete with their own struggles and triumphs. When someone is on the receiving end of online vitriol, the impact can be deeply felt, regardless of the physical distance between the bully and the victim. The internet, after all, is a conduit for real human interaction, even if it is through a digital medium.
Before one considers engaging in harmful behavior such as slandering or threatening an online stranger, it's crucial to reflect on the potential consequences of those actions. Not only are such actions unlikely to result in any positive outcome for the perpetrator, but they also have the potential to inflict unnecessary pain and suffering on someone who is already potentially vulnerable.
Besides, the way we conduct ourselves online is a reflection of our character. By choosing to harm others, we define ourselves as someone willing to cause pain, perhaps as a way to cope with our own issues. This is a moment for introspection. Why choose to be a source of negativity in someone else's life when you could strive to be neutral or, better yet, a positive influence? Engaging in cruelty doesn't showcase strength; rather, it often betrays an inner weakness or insecurity.
It's important to remember that kindness and empathy are choices that we can make in every interaction, online or offline. By choosing to be considerate and compassionate, we contribute to a more positive online environment and set an example for others to follow. And in doing so, we not only help others but we also enrich our own character, fostering a sense of self-respect and decency that is its own reward.
Attention all fan bases,
While it's natural to be enthusiastic and proud of your team's success, it's important to remember that sportsmanship and respect for other fan bases are crucial. Getting too cocky or tearing down other teams' fan bases can have negative consequences and can come back to haunt you.
Remember that every team experiences ups and downs, and no victory is guaranteed. It's important to show humility in victory and grace in defeat. By showing respect for other fan bases, you contribute to a positive and inclusive sports culture.
Celebrate your team's successes with enthusiasm, but also remember to be gracious and respectful to fans of other teams. After all, the spirit of sportsmanship is what makes sports so special.
So, as we continue to support our teams, let's do so with pride, but also with respect for others. Let's make our fan bases known for their sportsmanship and positivity.
Sincerely,
Bams
Slay bells ring, are you listening?
In the dark, fear is glistening
A chilling sight, you'll be afraid tonight
Stalking in a Ghostface Wonderland
When you're alone, he'll give you a scare
He loves to haunt, so beware,
He'll bring a chill, give you a thrill
In a Ghostface Wonderland
Gone away is the spirit of grace
Here to stay is a haunting face
He'll appear when you're unaware
Stalking in a Ghostface Wonderland
In the realm, he's a frightful fiend
He'll make sure your fear will never end
He'll have you scream and then you'll see
You're in a Ghostface Wonderland
In the meadow he can build a fright
And pretend that he's some ghastly wight
He'll say, 'What's your favorite scary movie?'
You'll try to run, but there's no need
When you're caught, he only wants to make you bleed
Stalking in a Ghostface Wonderland
The thighs on him, man.

So many Halloween Timelines it might as well be the Haddonfield-verse
What's your favorite scary movie?
Oh my God I love these so much...
Also, I am not turning into a shoe girl 😆
There are moments in life that become etched into our memories, moments that we remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when they occurred. Eighteen years ago, I experienced such a moment that brought my world to a standstill. It was a night spent at a friend's house when I received a phone call from my first love's mother, delivering news that would forever change my life. As I reflect on this day and the years that followed, I find myself grappling with the weight of loss once again, as my first love's mother recently passed away.
Beware of the ghosts tonight 🎃
