They’re both equally serious forms of oppression and they exist today.

3. What the fuck LGBT resources are you talking about? No one is asking to divert funds away from the Trevor Project to build a gray black and purple temple in the sky. The main resource that any oppressed group needs is a community of their peers that share similar struggles and recognize them as valid. Respect and attention are not zero-sum. If you see an ace flag at Pride you’re not diverting attention away from the ten million rainbow flags. If you type LGBTQIA instead of LGBT the only resource “the aces” are taking up is .05 milliseconds of your time. “Oh no, I had to think about seven different kinds of people instead of four. 4. Why do people need to identify as LGBT to fight for LGBT rights? Why can’t people ally with a community without demanding support from it? Why is ace support of the LGBT community conditional? Pride is about pride in the LGBTQIA community. So yeah, when you're excluding people from that, it is fucking relevant.

1. The point of your post was to trigger ace people and remind them that they're "not special" so basically fuck off. Obviously people have different definitions of what being ace means just like they do with being queer. Why bother policing what people choose to label themselves? This goes into resources so check out (3)

2. Yes, everyone is hurt by blatant sexism in the media. That doesn't mean some people aren't hurt more. This includes the people you mentioned, POC and especially WOC, etc. but also includes ace people.

3. You're conflating "LGBT community" with LGBTQIA activism. A community is a group of people with something in common who choose to congregate for their own wellbeing as well as to create safety in numbers. Not every LGBTQIA person is an activist and not every LGBTQIA activist identifies within the community like you pointed out in regards to allies. "The LGBT community" you're referring to is a historical activist movement that originally centered on white cis gay men. Those individuals still dominate LGBTQIA activism but the history of their advocacy has fuck-all to do with the community as it exists today as a space for marginalized people who identify as LGBTQIA.

On resources: it would be fucking wonderful if being in the acronym meant you get a slice of advocacy. Again, that doesn't happen. There are no resources that suffer from being spread to more people especially when the resources I'm talking about, being recognized by a community of your peers and having a space to be yourself without oppression, are again, not zero-sum. And the reason aces don't create their own movement is because they are INVISIBLE. Even people who might be objectively defined as ace can be reluctant to label themselves that way because of aphobes and sexual politics - basically everything you bring up attacking asexuals. Why don't all the letters in LGBTQIA have their own groups? is basically what you're asking and if you don't realize why that's a ridiculous as fuck question I don't know what to tell you. It should be noted, however (for those of you who might go ‘Hey let’s try this at home!’), that if you don’t train them exactly right* they might think ‘This is the spot where I dig now’ and then dig up the plants. Everyone, please note the fence. It’s taller than the dachshund and they aren’t made for jumping.

(They’re made for digging, though, so this is an EXCELLENT way to channel their bred-for burrowing behaviors. Again, as long as you do so correctly–dogs will be dogs, please don’t expect dachshunds to not dig.)

*Telling them to dig in a specific area will sometimes help, but like… You cannot always get what you want. They were bred for chasing badgers and rabbits. Be reasonable.
