Spotify delisted the podcast because it's too much music, not enough podcast, and they basically told us to "get a real job" and post music to the actual music platform like a big grownup adult (via a music partner). -- This actually does make sense since the content does indeed break that talk/music ratio rule. We might work on publishing a legit music-format version soon, and there is a way to create hosted playlists - maybe a project for when we have time.
YouTube marked 4 songs as "copyrighted," but it did not affect our video. It's a pretty funny list since I'm pretty sure (though I have done zero research) that some of them are basically public domain. Oh well, it could have been worse I suppose!

Hey Victor, thanks for checking out my old write up on it!
Iām not totally sure, but it seems to be a type of microphone connector that was popular for radio applications. Mine is branded Amphenol but otherwise no ID marks. I canāt find part numbers in the documents and schematics I have, and I canāt find exactly the same cable or plugs, but doing a quick search I was able to dig up these (below) that are awfully close, and you might be able to build your own cable with them even if itās not exactly the same (you may need to swap out the jacks on the guitar and pedal since it seems like the plugs I can find are the opposite gender).
The cable itself doesnāt appear to be completely shielded (I canāt open mine easily right now to check), but I imagine there is a shielded, maybe even twisted pair for the signal wires and maybe shielding for the power wires. I believe thatās why itās such a short cable stock, something like 8 feet. There is a lot of shielding for the guitar circuitry in particular inside the guitar itself, since there is a lot going on between the organ, power, and guitar circuitry.

Hey man, Recently I have acquired a harmony H400 guitar amp, like the one you have that you modded, to be repaired and made safe for a friend of mine. I talked to him about your mods, and i would like to do the same thing. I have a few questions if you wouldn't mind asking them. 1.What size fuse did you put in your amp, 1A, 2A, etc? 2.What power drop resistor did you use, for the filaments after you modded the power supply? 3.How did you isolate the speaker out jack from the rest of the chassis?
Hi anon, apologies for not responding to these questions for a while! 1. I used a 1A fuse but it might be good to use a lower one. This little amp doesnāt draw much power at all so the safety margin could be lower. I might rebuild this again and if so Iāll run more test like current consumption and such. 2. For the power drop, I used...something I had lying around...I wish I knew! It was a beefy power resistor, that I can say. 3. I used the chassis for the speaker jack ground, though maybe it is better practice to control that current path. If I did, Iād use plastic washers to isolate the jack and run a twisted pair from the output transformer, grounding to chassis at the transformer.
Hello, I made the mistake of leaving my amp powered on for several days, when I came back to it I noticed it had burnt one of the tubes so bad the heat broke the glass! I replaced the tube and tried to power it up but nothing doing. Do you know if this amp (Harmony H400) has a fuse? I am hoping for something simple but with my luck it won't be. Any ideas?
Hi anon, sorry if this has gone unanswered for years. Nope, the original design didnāt come with a fuse, not even an isolation transformer! Adding both is a good idea. If you blew a tube, chances are good that other components got fried in the process, unfortunately. Tubes are usually very tough components and donāt normally break from heat, but stuff happens. Might be best to do a full rebuild or get the help from a qualified tech. Hi anon, sorry, no, I had either used original parts that came with the amp or some that were lying around, so I never specād them out. The amp did die a few weeks ago and so Iāve been considering doing another rebuild. My original layout was lousy! I was learning at the time and spent more time on making the schematic look nice than the actual circuit ; ) . If I have time, I may provide a more complete update to the project. It would be great to have a list of parts for this little amp, as Iāve gotten a lot of inquiries about it lately.
I can say I used a Triad N-68X for the isolation transformer. Itās 1:1 and you wire the primaries in parallel for 120v mains or in series for 240v.

Iām thinking about reviving this so I can have a place to put some weblog posts that may or may not have anything to do with music. Just thought it would be nice to put this out there. Read on if you care to learn more. But first, hereās a picture of one of my cats.
I recently joined a part-time technical program and am working full time at the same public radio job. Sometimes I feel like posting something techy, but I donāt want to start an all-out tech blog. While Iām thinking about it, I sometimes want to post music things or random thoughts, but I donāt feel like posting it to, well, um, letās say somewhere that will get too much unhelpful input. Tumblr has seemed very, uh, ābroadcastyā and ephemeral, but itās really just a blog thing at its core, and with its flexible page functions it serves as a free (clunky-ass) website of sorts. It hasnāt changed too much since I first joined years ago, so itās nice in that itās familiar. I havenāt read the TOS details lately, so maybe Oath Automattic or whatever (wow, that fast?) has some conditions that I donāt feel comfortable with. But for now, I donāt have anything āseriousā planned. So, I feel like using this as a platform to ājust put stuffā is fine. Itās easier than setting up a Wordpress or Squarespace or what have you, and I donāt care about having a domain. So there!
So yeah, if you want to unfollow or whatever the terminology is these days, I wonāt be offended.
Sorry I never responded to those direct messages that I kind of solicited in my pages years ago. Iām going to turn that function off here soon. And Iāll probably go through and remove those things from years ago that were cool at the time but were maybe misplaced. Or were they? Theyāre definitely out of date.
Itās funny how Iām kind of in the same place that I was in, like, 2012-2013, where I really wasnāt sure what I wanted to do with my life. I think whatās changed is that that aspect of life is kind of more interesting and positive now with where Iām at with things, rather than a consistent feeling of dread and regret.Ā
Itās nice to get random crap off you chest, even (especially?) if itās small things that no one cares about, so thatās why Iām putting all this here. Have you ever read something that points out that no one will probably read the very thing youāre reading? Itās like the writer presumed too much about the reader, because obviously the reader is reading those very words that the writer probably never wanted anyone to read but, for whatever reason, went ahead and wrote it and made it available for reading.
I probably wonāt post things like this going forward. Thanks for the e-hang in my head for a bit.
