The facts were these… Pushing Daisies: a summary
Review of Soulless by Gail Carriger
If I could have rated this -2 stars I would have. You know how it is always nice to have a nice glass of wine when you reading? Well just to get through the first chapter I needed two glasses of wine. And that still didn't make it any better. Now I know what you are thinking, "Gosh that is such a harsh review, what ever caused this?" Well my dear GoodReader I will tell you. I had to force myself to finish the first chapter and I had the greatest urge to shut it and throw it out the window. First the character, Alexia Tarabotti, that I suspect the author was going for was a lady with a bit of a wonderful side of humor and assertiveness. She failed, epically. I know this type of character she was reaching for, in fact I have played that character in numerous role plays on online forums. The character she had written was vain, annoying and just plain dumb. Not to mention she brought fact the point she was Italian about five times in the first chapter (Why? I have no clue. It reminded me of that annoying kid in school that just so happened to be related to a famous person in some way and they would bring attention to it all the time), and she was more concerned about food then the vampire she "accidentally" killed, and she had a parasol with her in a ball that she was attending . For your information for a book that is supposed to be set in the 1800s you would only have your fan and your dance card on your person, your parasol would be left at the door. But I think that this woman would never have her dance card even scarcely looked at for she brought attention to the fact that she was a spinster numerous times and she didn't even want to go. Then why the hell did you?! Oh and to top that, she said that the attack by the vampire she just killed "rudely attacked" her. And she could only comment on his looks and how cheap his shirt was. Geez this author only liked the fashion and the manners of this time period for she didn't bother to look up anything else. Did I mention that was also born without a soul? No? Well she doesn't posses one and I can almost guarantee that without a doubt that Carriger does not have any science behind it. And *cue trumpets* Lord Maccon arrives and he is the obvious love interest. Oh and here is the kicker *makes annoyingly high voice* he is very well dressed but "His dark hair a bit too long and shaggy to be de mode, and his face was not entirely clean shaven, but he possessed enough hauteur to carry this lower-class roughness off without seeming scruffy." <---That is a direct line from the first chapter and the whole book is written in this horrid writing. And just to say that I have technically completed this pile of dribble I read a spoiler ridden (which I already technically predicted in the first place) synopsis and I am so glad I did so I didn't proceed to kill more brain cells with trying to finish this. Now the only thing I want to do is go to the nearest book exchange shop, get this book as far as I can away from me and get something that can actually have the credibility of being a GoodRead.

Gorgeous book but only if it wasn't Jane Austen, I don't know she is the Lifetime channel of Classic Literature. XP
DEAR GOD I’VE BEEN FEATURED ON A BUZZFEED LIST
That's how I followed you!
apparently e.l. james called former child star mara wilson (matilda) a “sad fuck” for critiquing the 50shades books a while ago and now there’s a feud. i love it.
MATILDA’S SHADE GAME IS SO STRONG I LOVE IT
I also recommend lady chatterly's if the Shades of Gray fans are soo destitute for an erotica that is, may I say, cheesy?
