A few days ago I decided to make a masterpost about my girl Rose Wilson aka Ravager. This includes only her most important preboot appearances, because we pretend that the new 52 Ravager doesn’t exist :) Don’t let my ugly edit fool you, this character is awesome!

01. Origin [link]

Rose Wilson, the daughter of Slade Wilson and Lilian Worth (a badass Cambodian royalty turned high class prostitute), made her first appearance in Deathstroke #15 back in 1992. We don’t see her until Deathstroke #0 two years later. At the age of 14 she goes through a lot and she remains more badass than any of us will ever be. new 52/rebirth writers: take a note!

02. Joining the Titans/ Lian’s Nanny [link]

This era of her life is pretty uneventful. She’s a member of the Titans and Lian Harper’s babysitter. Their relationship is the cutest thing you’ll ever read. You can skip this part if you want to but i’m warning you, this is the only time you’ll ever see her happy for more than two seconds. Adorable moments, friendships never mentioned again. Roy is a healthy father figure. Also, she was the voice of reason at times. Geoff Johns is like ‘what?’.

03. Ravager is born/ Deathstroke’s Sidekick [link]

For whatever reason she’s not Lian’s nanny anymore and she lives with a foster family who love her very much. I don’t like to talk about Teen Titans #0.5 but shit happens. She becomes Deathstroke’s sidekick and she loses an eye. Just another day in the Wilson family.

04. One Year Later: Joining the Teen Titans [part 1, part 2]

Robin asks her and Kid Devil to join the Teen Titans. She’s an outcast, she smokes, she drinks and she’s a bad girl/ rebel. She’s also very very badass. Lots of ableist slurs thrown into the mix. In the 1st part you’ll find Geoff Johns’ issues which are actually really really good. She treats her like crap from time to time but he has his (plot) reasons and he understands her complexity, which is good. Then there’s the 2nd part where Johns got replaced and involves the rest of her time with Teen Titans.

05. Going Solo [link]

Well, she has her reasons for quitting the team. Which is mostly bad writing the fact that she felt like she didn’t belong in Teen Titans. This list includes the two part Blackest Night tie-in aka Black Lanterns aka zombies. I also included her cameo in Justice League: The Rise of Arsenal that you shouldn’t read unless you’ve read Cry for Justice which i don’t advise you to, unless you want your heart to be broken in many tiny little pieces. 06. Fresh Hell [link]

Includes her solo adventure (which is a second feature) and the issue that led up to it (Teen Titans #71). Fresh Hell is 100% the best story ever told about her and it’s one of my favorite comics of all time. I don’t want to spoil anything but please read it. It’s not the plot itself but rather the deep and a beautiful study of this complex character. Also, Yıldıray Cınar draws the best Rose.

07. Rejoining the Teen Titans [link]

After being MIA for several months she rejoins the Teen Titans. Surprisingly she’s kinda gets along with everybody and there’s no drama. Damian x Rose will be your newest BROTP. Unnecessary romantic subplot. Almost free of ableist slurs. TT #100 happens and new 52 follows. Stay away from new 52 Rose, don’t bother. Just pretend she went on vacation with the person you ship her with; she has earned it…

Update: 08. Deathstroke Rebirth [link]

So Rebirth happened and Rose Wilson is back! Well kinda, because reboots are confusing but finally she’s being written good and she’s no longer white. I won’t tell you anything related to the story line but trust me it’s totally worth the read. Christopher Priest is a genius and so is the plot! note: Rose first appears in #02 but i’d advise you to read the previous issues as well in order to keep up with the plot

Hi I just started with runaways series and I have downloaded the comics from the link you provided in your other post (& thank you for that!) Since I haven't read the comics yet & I guess you have, can you tell me if the series is faithful to the comics/storyline or are they diverging alot? I've seen posts that Alex from the comics is a mole in the runaway group, Gert x Chase romance will start much later in the comics. I know I'm asking alot & it's ok if u don't want to reply & thanks!

The show diverges a lot but I believe the show is true to the spirit of the comic. If you like one you’ll like the other, but don’t expect a one for one adaptation.

It’s a different take on the same premise, the show also does modernise a lot obviously and i feel you also have to take into account that the comic is set within the larger marvel 616 universe, while the mcu- which the runaways show doesn’t touch on much- is smaller!

The show tells you much more about their parents, some people are mad that they haven’t actually runaway yet in the show- but I personally think the biggest change that affects the show the most is that in the comics the parents are explicitly murderers, the kids witness them stabbing a teenager.

This is a ramble and my first post in ages but I really love the Runways comics and the Runways show and I think they’re both incredible in similar and different ways!

To the best of my knowledge, these are all the comics Silk showed up in. ASM v3 has more issues, but I only included up to the epilogue of the Spider-verse event (in which she showed up on most, if not all issues). She also showed up in Jessâ comics in issues 1, 2 and 4, but I figured Iâd add all available issues (at the time Iâm publishing this) because why not. I will update this post with new Silk issues as they come out.
