Yo our pals in the U.K are having a hard time for the populace choosing a posh overgrown child with a Churchill fetish instead of a possibly fairer path because Corbo sometimes looked a bit grumpy. Maybe there’s more to it who knows who cares right now, there are a few labels based in Uk that work really really hard to keep our bubble commmunity strong and I want to share them in case you have been living under a rock or needed a reminder. As we all know it’s a tough time to operate and it’s no fee to Bandcamp day so I thought I’d share my favourite places to check in with when only music can save me. Brand new Powerplant and Cold Meat plus a wildly eclectic mix of the best across the spectrum of punk, diy, hardcore, power pop and weirdo. Static Shock just finished giving us the last fest before quarantine living and the quality of bands, and the sense of community from all they have built over these past years was overwhelmingly special. Static Shock always releases what we want to hear. Unconcerned with how many spikes are on your jacket you are presented with the tunes you know you want to pogo to at 2am with your best mates after moshing like an over excited 15 year old with too many red bulls in you all night. Pour some menthol eye drops in your sockets, hug your best mate and hit the tiles. Including Chubby and the Gang, Warthog, Uranium Club, Sheer Mag, Geld, Blazing Eye, Idiota Civilazzato, The Number Ones, Krimewatch, Career Suicide, Sievehead, Impalers, State Funeral, Shitty Limits and more and more and more.

Preorders are up for the new Permission, Sial and Rat Cage and there are very few physical copies of the Muro/Orden Mundial record left by the looks of things. There is so much great punk on this Bandcamp I don’t even know where to start. I don’t actually even know how Paco has time to even listen to this much music, that prolific are the releases. What’s unique however is that unlike the 8,000000 Agathocles splits, every single thing LVEUM release is pure gold. If you are a lazy millennial punk and are too busy discussing the challenges of fitting meditation into your freelance graphic design gig and would rather hire a taste maker this would be how to stay cool through your mid life crisis. You probably need to change gears a little at this point unless you stashed way more glue than me for the lock down. It’s now late after the show and we all are hanging out on cushions on google hangout and even the internet smells like weed. This is my other favourite go to for new tunes to expand my mind to. At Blackest ever Black you can find Diat’s Positive Disintigration which they wrote plausibly as the soundtrack for our upcoming dystopian hell of modern life where we live like sardines in isolation, Carla Dal Forno’s gorgeous honey for the ears, raime, Tropic of Cancer, f ingers, Rasberry bulbs, prurient, lustmord, Vatican shadow, Dalhous, pessimist, and one of my current rotations Silvia Kastel. On the sister label Low Company you can find the excellent company of Itchy Bugger, Bobby Would and I can’t find it on Bandcamp but also the excellent Brannten Shnure.
