Karen awoke with a start her dog was pawing at the door and she could hear his whining through it. She lifted her head off of what she thought was her pillow and it wasn’t it was Kit, she smiled remembering last night and how she couldn’t erase that fluttering feeling in her heart. The racing from both admiration but also the activities that followed. She knew that they kept playing will they won’t they and last night cleared the air about it completely. She traced his chest with her fingertips kissing his neck “Morning” she said softly “I’ll be right back, old poochy needs the loo” she said with a snort before she slipped on what was his shirt and her underwear to open the door and pick up her dog. “Shh honey, just wait I’ll get you outside.” She said before heading to a set of French doors and letting him out. She went back down the corridor and opened the door slowly not to wake Kit. She crawled back into bed and said “ did you miss me?” In a whisper.

Kit had been in a blissful sleep when he heard the scratches at the door. It didn’t annoy him not when he caught the flash of red hair beside him, a sleepy smile plastered across his face. Things with Karen had been so undetermined but they’d finally taken a step in the right direction last night. Truth was, he was crazy about her and he had been for a while now. “Morning,” he grinned, sitting up and stretching for a brief moment while he watched her get dressed and head out. His head hit the pillow again, a hand laying on his chest as he thought back to the events of last night. “Sorry, who are you again?” He joked, pulling her back into him. “I might have missed you. The bed is cold without you even if you weren’t gone long.”
