Hrishi Hirway: This is such an incredibly well-acted scene. For me, one of the most powerful that we’ve seen so far. The president breaking down like that… Josh Malina: I know! And you see him fighting it. At first I couldn’t quite tell what was going on, he won’t quite look at Leo. Hrishi Hirway: The whole exchange is really- I think it’s the most tender scene that there’s been so far on the show. Josh Malina: I don’t know whether John Spencer and Martin Sheen knew each other before working here, but I believe that these guys have known each other for a long time, and really been through it together. That’s just great acting. They just have a history, there’s a weight to their relationship that you feel in this scene. The magnitude of President Bartlet’s decision not to share this huge piece of information with Leo is significant, and it’s real. He’s also admitting in a way that it was his weakness, and maybe even ego, or the dark side of ambition. He didn’t tell him because “I wanted to be president.” Then John Spencer has that sweet response, essentially, “I would have still gotten you here. You can tell me anything, it would not have been a deal breaker for us. I would have still made it happen.” Hrishi Hirway: I think what’s especially telling of that depth and history between them is that moment where Leo calls him Jed. Leo isn’t addressing the office in that moment. He isn’t addressing the president, he’s addressing the man, his friend. This is a situation that transcends that kind of formality.

How did you feel about Alex wondering if he only gets one true love and it was Izzie? I didn't like that at all. Yes he's hurt because Jo said no to his proposal but there is still a 4 year history there in which she was there for him whenever he needed her. That talk made him sound like after those 4 years the 1 year with Izzie still meant more to him and as an Alex fan I just can't get behind that. :( I feel like the writing is so weird sometimes.

First to be completely honest I didn't watch the finale.... Because tvline (fuck them tbh) posted that Sara was leaving the show less than an hour after it aired (right before I was about to watch) and I refuse to accept it so I decided I'm not watching it lol (at least until after hiatus) But to answer ur question: yeah I heard that he was contemplating whether Izz*e was his one true love and was like gag me. It sucks that back then it took 4 seasons to get through one year of their lives (or something like that) and now we get a time jump every few eps (I have absolutely no understanding of time in the grey's world). So it would seem like Alex/Izz*e had this long relationship when really they were only together for like a millisecond before she got sick. The fact that Alex/izz*e were married is probably the only reason he felt like they might have had a more significant relationship/she might have been the one since his relationship with Jo is so laid back. The writers definitely don't help anyone ship jolex. Like tbh I've lost so much interest in them this season just because we get nothing and when we do it's stupid drama. I guess they're trying to set something up for next season based on what happened in the finale but we'll see. I'm hoping we get something good so I can be jolex trash again 💕💕💕
