I personally think kid trinity had a fat crush on Ms. Frizzle from Magic School Bus (nerd). And when a drunk Trinity revealed this during a game of truth or dare with the Pittlings, they just knew that they had stumbled upon a gold mine of blackmail. Older woman? Curly hair? Super intelligent? Teacher? Caring? Attentive? Dare I say motherly? Possibly neurodivergent?
(Most Pitt staff agree that Al hashimi is most likely undiagnosed on the spectrum bc the patient passports, meticulous attention to detail and procedures, lack of awareness of personal space, intense bordering on uncomfortable eye contact that feels like a forced habit? Just saying….)
The next day, a hung over Trinity is awkwardly apologizing to Al Hashimi for being tired and unfocused. Her ears are red, she can’t hold eye contact with those piercing brown doe eyes that are peering into her soul and her snark has died down into a puppy’s whimper. Coincidentally Baran has her hair down that day and her curls are staticky due to the humidity in the air.
Behind them the Pittlings are donning ear to ear grins and when Dr. Al Hashimi walks away with a departing pat to Trinity’s shoulders, they pounce.
“Hmm Dr. Al Hashimi’s hair is really pretty today don’t you think Trinity? All frizzy?”
Victoria grins evilly her eyes glinting at Trinity. Dennis snorts in glee.
“Shut it Crash” Trinity grits out, turning around and marching away with as much dignity as she could manage. She was too hungover for this.
Baran frowned as she stared at the screen in front of her for a long moment before focusing her attention on the woman in front of her. "What exactly am I looking at?"
The woman shifted nervously in her chair, "well... there were a few alerts that popped off shortly after Dr. Santos was terminated, right before we revoked her access. Made absolutely no sense since she was in HR with Dr. Underwood and Dr. Robinavitch when the changes were flagged."
"There's absolutely no way she could have altered the records remotely?"
"Not with our current setup, no." She cleared her throat and took over the laptop, bringing Baran's attention to a specific set of lines. "I reviewed the logs here and spoke with Ahmad, he compared the footage to the times. It was definitely not Dr. Santos making the changes."
The muscles in Baran's jaw tightened as white, hot anger surged through her. "I see... and you have the footage saved?"
"Mmhm, and given recent evidence, it is our recommendation that an additional, comprehensive audit be completed before assigning any additional responsibility."
"Please forward this data to me. I will go speak with Dr. Underwood." Baran stood, "thank you..."
With a shrug, the woman grinned sheepishly. "Dr. Santos helped my son with a very embarrassing issue, I figured I owed her."
oooooh this immediately got my brain buzzing.
What if Trinity never ratted out Langdon in S1? Maybe the Pittfest shooting happened earlier and right as she was about to confide in Robby, chaos descended and she swallowed her tongue because Langdon despite being an asshole was needed. And after the day was done, Trinity just wanted to forget about the entire day and convinced herself she was imagining things. After all, with how many lives Langdon saved, surely he couldn't be an addict right?
Cut to months later, Langdon's addiction has steadily been worsening and Trinity finds herself as the only one seeing these alarming signs. And of course, now that she is sleeping with Garcia, who is Langdon's friend, she is even more frightened to come forward. So she keeps her mouth shut, until one day a patient almost dies and she and Langdon lock eyes across the dead body and she knows she cannot do this again. She can't be silent, not again (coach - Grace -shame - regret -guilt).
But Langdon, realizes this too. And he is terrified. He has a fellowship lined up, a wife, a baby on the way, a daughter, a dog for christ's sake. So he goes to Robby first. Shows hospital logs that reveal Trinity has been logging out meds when they aren't needed. Trinity is summoned to an HR meeting and sees Robby already there and thinks they want to ask her about Langdon....But to her horror, she hears the words "suspension", "investigation", and "permanent record". She can't really remember the exact sentences they use, she disassociates during the entire hour closed door meeting. Her tearful and angry shriek of being innocent and pointing the finger at Langdon is of course not taken seriously.
Days later on the fourth of July, Dr. Al Hashimi comes in holding a box of bagels and is curious about why the name "Santos" is being whispered constantly by all the hospital staff.
Now I don't know how Baran and Trinity eventually meet. Maybe after Robby leaves, Whitaker confides in her about Trinity's situation and how he thinks she's innocent and if Baran can help in any way. And as she starts to look into things, she sees all the signs in Langdon that Trinity before only saw. Because like Trinity, Baran is familiar with having her guard up always in a male dominated field. She is used to being harshly scrutinized while male peers got away with mistakes and blatant inadequacy. Baran sees the things that people usually dismiss. The macho confidence that male doctors deploy to hide their own shortcomings. The way everyone is charmed by Langdon so thoroughly they don't look past his easy smile.
Baran questions Langdon only once about Dr. Santos, pretending to simply be curious about how Langdon was dealing with having to turn his colleague in. And as she sees the sweat beading on Langdon's forehead, alarm bells begin sounding off in her head.
Maybe one day Baran knocks on the door of an apartment (she gets the address from Dennis) and after a tense few minutes, the door cracks open and a young woman with haunting green eyes peer out at her. Baran darts her eyes over the pale face, taking in every detail and expression and feels a growing conviction settle within herself.
Trinity, unmoored and so close to slipping over the edge, sees this intense stranger standing at her door, asking her all the questions that Robby and HR and Gloria should have asked her weeks ago, and feels the beginnings of hope stir in her chest.
Cue, a slow romance developing over meetings between Baran and Trinity, where they discuss how they can reinstate Trinity and reveal the truth about Langdon.

and YES for the whitsantos of it all. Dennis would for sure be yapping away about his best friend Trinity to Al Hashimi. So much so that Baran has begun to create a folder in her brain called "Trinity Facts". And over the course of a few weeks, as she begins to investigate Trinity's suspension, routinely updates it.
Trinity Santos likes avocados. She swears like a sailor. She is a strong patient advocate. She is kind to children but secretly so bc she for some reason thinks it's embarrassing to be known as 'kid friendly'. She is grouchy and mean but not really bc she collects strays like its a hobby (Dennis, Victoria, Mel). Is a big fat lesbian (Javadi's words not Whitaker's).
Trinity had something very very bad happen to her a long time ago and as a result is always on the lookout for especially vulnerable patients (children, women, etc). Dennis reveals this quietly to Baran, pausing every so often as if weighing the cost of each word.
"Trinity would hate that I am saying this but ... I want you to know that she would never ever take advantage of a vulnerable patient ok? Langdon is lying. I don't have proof. But I know Trinity. She wouldn't do that. She knows what its like to be hurt by someone in power. She just- she could never do that. Never."
Baran stares at Dennis and believes him instantly. Her investigation isn't complete. But she knows that Dr. Santos is innocent. Maybe Robby had a point about gut instinct. He just applied it to the wrong resident.
Oh and when Baran gets around to questioning Yolanda? Her gut starts to actively scream at her.
"You never asked Dr. Langdon about Dr. Santos' suspension? Despite seeing absolutely no signs of Santos' drug abuse in the hospital or outside of work?" Baran's eyes were wide in disbelief.
This surgeon squirming awkwardly in front of her was sleeping with said resident for months and never even came forward to question the validity of Langdon's claims? God help her, Trinity Santos was failed by so many fucking people.
Baran could only turn and walk away in a stupor, shaking her head as she did so.

Baran spouting fucking poetry in farsi while bending Trinity like a pretzel in bed. And trinity only figuring this out weeks later from fucking Oglivie of all people. He casually peers over trinitys shoulder while she’s attempting to google the fragments of phrases she remembers Baran whispering in her ear and is like “oh that’s beautiful. Are you into Persian poetry?”
And trinitys is like “wtf??” And then proceeds to have the most mind bending conversation with evil huckleberry as she realizes Baran is actually in love with her??
The next day, Trinity drags Baran into an empty trauma room, hair a mess, eyes red and shouts “what do you mean you think ‘I’m your soul mate, the calmness of your heart, the remedy to your pains?!!’. Baran you said that to me while you bent me over the kitchen sink!! WTF!!!”
And Baran is all wide brown eyes and brain empty.
Meanwhile everyone can hear and see this bc trinity chose a room with all glass doors.
And among the Pittlings watching this, Ogilvie is slurping iced coffee and looking entirely too smug.

My hyperfixation of the week was Wednesday's soundtrack, so here's some highlights (mostly wenclair related)
Wednesday and Enid each have a main theme that changes instruments and intensity depending on the mood and a secondary theme that appears at specific moments. It is so satisfying to hear the melodies having their own dialogue in parallel with the characters.
Wednesday's second theme appears when:
She talks about the last time she cried and Nero's death to Enid
Her parents call her and she recollects her first week at Nervermore
Enid finds her after hiding due to being overwhelmed by the crowd
She says something nice to her father
She is nice to Pugsley
She comes closer to her mother for a wi-fi kiss
She indirectly says to Enid that she missed her
She tells Enid that she will never forget her
She is in denial about her power and Morticia mentions Ophelia
Enid question her about what happened at the Pyre
Wednesday is a control freak, unconfortable with emotions, so this theme is about being vulnerable, something she only allows herself occasionally around her family and Enid. While her main theme is a minor ascending scale, her second theme is a descending scale. It sounds like a relief but it's gradual, cautious.
This theme is used several times in season 1, but almost disapears in season 2, because Wednesday becomes obsessed with control and denies all signs of vulnerability.
Enid's second theme appears when:
She gives Wednesday a snood for her birthday, matching hers
She comes out of the forest after her fight with Tyler as a werewolf
She tells Bruno that she can't imagine her life without Wednesday
She thanks Wednesday for saving her life, and Wednesday compliments her by remixing her words
She tells Wednesday that she is her pack
This theme accompanies words or actions that have a deep meaning to Enid, as expressing her affection for Wednesday. Its comforting melody illustrates their special bond and the soft side of Enid's personality.

Skull tree rescue
When Enid takes the decision to wolf out in order to save Wednesday, a new theme appears. I'm definitely not a music expert, so I don't know if it's related to her second theme, but it's the same vibe, more dramatic though.
Tyler and Wednesday theme
This theme can be heard in the score "First kiss".
(The first, and the last time)
It appears when:
Tyler accepts to drive Wednesday to the train station but for free
Wednesday tells him that she goes to the Rave'N with Xavier, and he shows his disapointment
He invites her to diner for her birthday but she declines
He asks her if he did something wrong because she ghosted him after the ball
Tyler asks if they can reschedule their date
He tells her that he wants them to be more than friends, and they almost kiss
They kiss
The particularity of this theme is that it's firstly associated with Tyler. The first notes appear when he's on-screen, and they match his mood. Then, it gradually becomes his and Wednesday's, as if he had transmitted it to her.
After the kiss this theme disappears, and doesn't come back in season 2 (unless I've missed it).
The Season 2 puts music in the spotlight
One of the new characters is a music teacher, who has a vision of music related to control and emotions, two other strong themes of the season
Agnes created a riddle that requires knowledge in music.
She chose the heart to make the organ guess, another recurring pattern, which can have several meanings → *
Romeo and Juliet - Dance of the knights (Prokofiev)
This song introduces season 2's plot: A masquerade (the gala, deception, secrets) and a confrontation between two families. It's a ballet by Sergei Prokoviev based on William Shakespeare's famous play. This part takes place during a masked ball, when Romeo and Juliet meet each other.
If this is supposed to refer to the relationship between Wednesday and Tyler, it’s an epic failure, in my humble opinion.
(Don't fear) The reaper (Blue Öyster Cult)
After Wednesday learned that Enid and she were going to die if they didn’t break the curse, she plays this song on the cello. It is about not being afraid of death, because it is inevitable and also:
"a love song where the love transcends the actual physical existence of the partners" Dharma * **
It mentions Romeo and Juliet once again. Maybe romance is something Wednesday has in a corner of her head after all, since it inspired her the two songs we see her play on cello.

Die Entfuhrung Aus Dem Serail - The Abduction from the Seraglio (Mozart)
The Abduction from the Seraglio is a singspiel about Belmonte rescuing his beloved, Constanze, with the help of Pedrillo, his servant. I don’t know if it’s intentional, but I think this refers to the plan to save Bianca’s mother in this episode.
Swan lake - Waltz (Tchaikovsky)
We can hear this part of The Swan lake during Enid and Bruno's dialogue at the gala.
This story is about a cursed maiden, condemned to transform into a swan in the daytime. The only way to break the curse is to find true love. To prevent the prince from saving Odette, Odile (the black swan) takes her appearance to deceive him and break the promise he had made to her. (It's VERY summarized)
I wonder if it is an intentional reference to this scene:
But in this version of the story, the prince is unworthy of Odette and Odile saves her.

This one is one of my favorite fics ever. It’s Wednesday/Enid/Bianca and it’s part of a series of fics that are SOOOOO GOOD!!! Again, I love this fic to bits and I’m planning on rereading it soon lol. And that’s just something I don’t do lmaoooo. Anyway, it’s Wednesday coming into accepting her full eldritch identity and learning what it means to be an Addams in love. I absolutely 10000% recommend this fic! PLEASE give the author so much love, they deserve it.
