Classic Literature for you to read based on your BTS bias
Just some classics recs from me to you based on who you stan in BTS 🤗 happy reading! (a/n: these are just my opinions!)

I believe Jin to be an international treasure. Mr. Worldwide Handsome captures the hearts of all who know him, making him someone you’ll never forget. These novels have the same charm and impression that can be found in Jin, drawing you in with their beauty but making you stay because of the secrets they hold. They are splendidly written with abstract themes, incredibly controversial for their time. The protagonists in these novels are captivating and have a beautiful essence to them. The scandals make these novels very Jin-esque, and will have you on the edge of your seat. And Jin will come to you in your thoughts, saying,
“You will always be fond of me. I represent to you all the sins you never had the courage to commit.” - The Picture of Dorian Gray
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
Demian by Hermann Hesse
Personally, I think Yoongi has a dark aura to him. I don’t mean this in a bad way: I mean this in a captivating way. There’s mystery surrounding him - he’s incisive, unpredictable, and untroubled. Which is why I chose darker novels like Jane Eyre and Demian. Readers will be spooked by these gothic pieces but won’t be able to put them down. The trama and mystery in the lives of title characters fit well with Suga. But, this boy likes to sleep and relax too, and he has a playful side! So that’s where The Adventures of Tom Sawyer comes in. Tom Sawyer and Yoongi have the boyish charm we see in characters like Edmund Pevensie and Percy Jackson. All three novels are très Yoongi and will have you so invested in the plot lines probably making you think in the end,
“Reader, I married him.” - Jane Eyre
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
Hoseok is this fandom’s sunshine. He’s always so bright and happy, making ARMY’s - and Jamie Dornan - smile ear to ear. Which is why I chose those first two novels for him. These childhood classics are full of energy and adventure, bringing out the inner child in all of us. They are fun, bright, and filled with characters that draw us in. Just like our precious J-Hope. But, admittedly, Hobi isn’t always all rainbows and unicorns. No, he has another side to him. A side that he doesn’t show the world because it’s not what he wants the world to see. Which is why I chose Stevenson’s famous novel about dual identity. All in all, these novels are amazing, just like the ever energetic Hoseok. So remember,

Do you guys remember those high school papers we had to write about novels that were so confusing to our young minds but later on grew to appreciate because they were actually so amazing? No? Okay, never mind. When I think of Namjoon, I think about those novels I had to read that were so complex at first but when rereading them I actually understood them. That’s why I chose these novels. Our leader is a complex individual, I think, and has a lot of layers to him. At first glance you wouldn’t understand it but the more you get to know him and the group, you see the hard work and dedication he puts in. And if you’re new, well honey buckle up because,
“Thou hast seen nothing yet.” - Don Quixote

Sweet, precious, fluffy Jimin. This little prince strikes me to be the biggest romantic. Possibly more romantic than what literature has to offer. Except for Gilbert Blythe. That’s besides the point. Chim’s shyness and love for others didn’t go unnoticed when I had to pick novels for him. When I think about Jimin, I think about grand and spontaneous romantic gestures, rose petals in your bath with champagne and soft music playing, and writing your soulmate poetry as a way to say ‘I love you’ for the first time. Which is why I brought out three of the world’s most known love stories. They each have their own versions and visions of love, making readers fall in love with the characters. Like how you must’ve fell in love with Jimin. It was his dancing, wasn’t it? Hey, it’s been said that,
“To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love.” - Pride and Prejudice

The aesthetic I get from Taehyung is as follows: oil paintings hanging in a museum in Florence, writing poetry in a café on a spring afternoon in Paris, a night out in the town to see an ballet in Moscow. I get artsy and dramatic vibes from this baby boy so, naturally, I brought out two novels that I think fit V’s aesthetic well. Leroux and Tolstoy’s novels paint glamorous stories with complex characters in gorgeous settings. The aristocratic backdrop and fashion fit our fashionable baby boy. And because he’s a baby boy I had to include Anne of Green Gables on this list for him. They’re both imaginative, loving, and hella dramatic. They try to enjoy the pleasures of life through people they care for and laughter because,

The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
When I think of Jungkook, I literally think of a knight in shining armour. But not in the romantic sense. In the adventurous sense. He’s someone who likes a good escapade and likes to showcase his strengths and abilities whenever possible. And probably as often as possible. Which is why I chose these three novels. These stories reek of adventure and a good quest. One is about a famous war, one about a quest for revenge, and one about a journey for peace and harmony for a whole other world. These novels, much like Kookie, will have your heart aching. But for the characters in this case. The protagonists of these stories endure more hardships than one would imagine. But don’t worry, you’re not the only one. After all,

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of BTS as a whole is loving oneself and others. These seven men have created music that remind us that we should love ourselves and if we don’t, to remember that they love us. An indicator that we should show love and compassion to those around us. Remind people that they are in fact loved and are deserving of it. These books show us love in different was and how it is a powerful, unstoppable force. When reading these novels, try to envision the guys there with you, reminding you that,
“Things are never as bad as they seem.” - To Kill a Mockingbird
