Way more abstract in terms of lyrics but definitely expressed through the sound…which defers from earlier examples of the 70s, which fits with contemporary sensibilities. But it still holds the same level of nuance the older songs had reg the disconnect between dreams and reality iconic places have on people. I love how her work subtly confronts materialism and status with honesty/recontextualization and without too much cynicism.
