Miya Atsumu x Sakusa Kiyoomi Masterlist Part 2 - Short
Note: This masterlist is only for mid range fanfiction (1k - 19k)
Two's more than company - 16k -
Atsumu collapses back on the bench. What was it that Inunaki said? Do ducklings imprint on the first thing they see after they hatch? Is Atsumu a mother duck now? A mother to two invisible ducks?
While stuck together with two invisible babies in an amusement park that grants its patrons magical powers, Atsumu and Sakusa work out their situationship.
2. Miscommunicating - 4k -
Atsumu didn't think it would happen again. This was Sakusa, who was on a whole other level of untouchable. He blows hot then cold, smug in his teasing, sharp in his comebacks, but he remains thoroughly impenetrable. Sometimes during practice, when he nails his serves, Atsumu would send him a grin and yell, "Did'ya see that Omi-Omi? I'm good, aren't I?" And Sakusa would just roll his eyes. Sometimes, he would mock Atsumu's Kansai accent.
It happened again. And again and again, for months on end. They don't talk about it.

Or, emotionally constipated idiots fall in love and the internet flips out.
3. the art of folding a handkerchief - 5k -
“Atsumu-san’s just realised he likes Sakusa-san,” Shouyou says simply, as though announcing the weather.
“Ahh,” Bokuto nods sagely, standing up straight and nodding his head, as though this is a perfectly normal thing to hear and not monumental in any way.
“'Ahh?'” Atsumu protests indignantly. “What do ya mean ‘ahh?’”
“We were wondering when you were going to notice,” Bokuto shrugs, and Atsumu gawps at him.
“'Scuse me?” he splutters, and whips his gaze around to Shouyou, who bobs his head at him in confirmation.
“How did you two notice before I did?” Atsumu blurts out.
"Most people do," Shouyou says softly.
-
In which Atsumu develops something annoying, like feelings for a teammate, but at least he has a couple of wingmen and Tobio's seemingly infinite resources to help him out.
4. you have tamed me - 5k - He wants to spend the rest of his life pissing Sakusa Kiyoomi off.
5. The olympic adventures of japan's national volleyball team - 8k -
“Guess what, Japan!” Hinata Shouyou beamed. “I’m home!”
There was an enthusiastic hoot behind him in the otherwise silent bus.
“And I’m also here with the rest of Japan’s National Men’s Volleyball Team, because — we’re going to the Olympics!”
--
A five-part vlog series by the Japan’s National Men’s Volleyball Team, with a generous helping of SakuAtsu.
6. do not separate - 5k -
He knows he likes peanut butter and the tuna onigiri Uncle Shamu makes for him. He knows he likes volleyball and the way his daddy looks so, so cool when he’s on court. He knows he likes drawing and playing with toy swords. He knows he likes reading and it’s even better when Atsumu is the one reading for him. He knows he likes to have pancakes in the morning but he also really, really likes tamagoyaki and he knows his daddy can’t make those at all. He tries, but fails every single time. He knows his daddy’s teammates like him and he knows they’ll help him if he wants to play with them one day. But the thing is he likes Uncle Omi-kun more than he likes the rest of them and that is a secret he won’t tell anyone that’s not his daddy. He doesn’t like to make people sad. “Omi?” “Yeah?” “Nao said he likes you more than he likes the rest of the team. Don’t tell’em.”
or atsumu is a single dad and kiyoomi can't help but fall for him.
7. your body, my home - 8k - “Fine,” he snaps. “I’ll get checked out. But I’m tellin’ ya—” and here he looks heavenwards, issuing a challenge to god themself, “—I’m not sick.”
8. Under Pressure - 8k -
Hinata and Bokuto realize that perhaps, just maybe, Sakusa might show affection differently than most. Unfortunately, it seems Atsumu is the object of such affections.
"Don't worry," Bokuto assures, "we're gonna teach you how to flirt with Tsumu."
9. Sakusa Kiyoomi is Gay - 7k - The pros and cons of swiping right on your very attractive teammate.
10. How to scare away your brother's boyfriend: a tutorial by Miya Osamu - 6k -
Suna was convinced he was overthinking things. That he was being overprotective, whatever the fuck that was supposed to mean. After all, he wasn't doing this for Tsumu's sake. He was doing it for his own. Because when the two of them inevitably break up, it would be Osamu left dealing with a crying, heartbroken Atsumu. It would be Osamu who would have to drive to his apartment every day with fresh tuna onigiri just to make sure the idiot still remembered to eat. It would be Osamu who would have to hunt Sakusa Kiyoomi down and make him regret ever looking at Miya Atsumu.
So no, this was not for Atsumu's sake. Not at all.
Or: Atsumu brings his boyfriend to Osamu's restaurant. Osamu is decidedly not happy about this.
11. A list of things Sakusa Kiyoomi hates - 7k -
“Just fuckin’ write shit down so ya remember it then.”
It was probably supposed to be a joke, just Osamu being as annoying and unhelpful as always, just reminding him that he shouldn’t have bothered trying to count on his brother for help. He’s forgotten about the whole thing until a few days later when he’s shopping and comes across a small, black notebook shaped like a cat, and his brother’s stupid suggestion flashes through his mind. Before he knows it, the cute little notebook is dropped in his basket, purchased, and in his possession.
Or, the one where Osamu suggests Atsumu keep a notebook to track all the things Sakusa hates that he does, and he takes it further than he means to.
12. Notice - 7k -
Embarrassingly, Miya Atsumu is the third person to notice his crush on Sakusa.
And it's his crush in the first place.
13. all that you were - 4k - Sakusa confesses to Atsumu with all the enthusiasm of someone reporting a traffic jam.
14. Tethered - 5k -
Kiyoomi and Atsumu aren’t dating, but Atsumu thinks they are.
__
“Hey, so what’re we doin’ on Friday?” Atsumu asks. He tucks his head over Kiyoomi’s shoulder and watches him pour hot water over the coffee grounds.
“Friday?” Kiyoomi says, looking halfway over his shoulder and nearly bumping noses with him. “I don’t know what you mean.”
“Friday? The 23rd? Our anniversary, dumbass,” Atsumu says. He pulls away and goes to grab mugs for their coffee when Kiyoomi pours out the last of the hot water. When he turns back, he raises his brows at Kiyoomi’s blank expression.
15. terminal curiosity - 9k -
“Hey, Miya—”
“I saw the sex stuff in your bathroom,” Atsumu violently blurts against his will.
Time stretches out, eternal, unending… the void at the beginning and end of all things coming to claim Atsumu as he stands in his borrowed house slippers by Sakusa’s door. There’s a ringing in his ears, or perhaps it’s the laughter of some vengeful god.
Sakusa’s expression doesn’t outwardly change. His eyes feel like they’re drilling holes in Atsumu’s head.
“It’s not sex stuff. It’s bondage gear.”
16. all i do is crave - 12k -
If Sakusa is looking straight at Miya, instead of the back corner where he’s supposed to be aiming, it is not of his own volition, or in any way his own fault. So it is also not his fault when his serve— with all of the power he can muster— goes on a very different trajectory than he intends. It is most definitely not his fault when his serve hits Miya fucking Atsumu straight in the side, and Miya bites down on his own tongue.
Five times Sakusa didn't know what to do about how attractive he found Miya Atsumu, and one time he did.
17. confessions - 9k -
So far their relationship had progressed with minimal complications. Kiyoomi had somehow managed not to ruin anything yet, or scare Atsumu away with just how crazy in love with him Kiyoomi actually was.
And that’s why Atsumu could never, ever find out about Kiyoomi's secret fanboy infatuation with him.
18. Wishful thinking - 5k -
Atsumu said into the heavy silence, “You can’t say you’ve never thought about it.”
"Thought about what?" said Sakusa.
Atsumu smiled to himself, smug. "You know."
"No, I don't."
"You know. Of course you’ve thought about it. There’s no reason to be ashamed, Omi-kun. I’m a real catch.”
Sakusa was appalled. "You're disgusting."
"You flatter me. I'm not judging you. I can't lie and say I haven't thought about it, too."
Sakusa shifted, slowly, to peer over his shoulder. He wasn’t scowling, but his expression was unreadable. “Please tell me you’re joking.”
Atsumu wasn't joking, and he was about to get more than he bargained for.
19. Building momentum - 9k -
“Well yeah, but I didn’t think… I didn’t know if you’re that kind of boyfriend,” said Atsumu.
Sakusa raised an eyebrow at him. He didn’t seem to understand what Atsumu meant, and that wasn’t surprising. Atsumu wasn’t sure what he meant, either.
After a moment, Sakusa said, “How many kinds of boyfriends are there?”
Atsumu winced. “Well, uh… two kinds, I guess. The kind you take home to your family and the kind you don’t.”
Sakusa seemed to consider that. “Which kind am I?”
Atsumu didn’t want to talk about this He wondered if he could fake a heart attack to get out of the conversation. “I dunno. That’s up to you, I guess.”
20. Fall into you - 8k - He’s dating Narcissus himself, but it’s fine. Kiyoomi knew this side of Atsumu from the beginning, and he fell for him just the same.
21. moisturizer? i hardly even know 'er! - 18k -
That was the worst thing about Atsumu Miya that Sakusa had logged to date. Even against his preexisting list of offending traits, nothing else even came close. There was no way it was normal for one person’s faults to occupy his mind so goddamn much, and for so goddamn long, too, but here he was, and he utterly loathed it. Whatever the case, after much deliberation, Sakusa had landed on this. Atsumu Miya was tragically, objectively, extremely attractive. or sakusa takes it upon himself to get atsumu into skincare. falling in love was not necessarily part of the plan
