semi eita wasn’t supposed to be that special. he sat in front of you in one of your classes, and subsequently, turned into your partner for the informative podcast project you had to do.
the premise behind the project was simple, almost deceivingly so. you and semi would have to choose a topic, create a thesis around which you’d create episodes, and of course, create a minimum of five episodes by the end of the five weeks you had.
viewership gave you extra credit, and so naturally, that’s what you decided to do.
at the present moment, you were situated on the floor of his dorm room, your mic set up against the rug of his floor while he fiddled with his computer to find the right recording software. a guitar took up all of his desk, lying across the wood like a sexy heroine in an old hollywood movie.
“is that your guitar?” you asked, watching his gray brows scrunch in concentration. “can you play?”
“yeah,” he nodded, “i used to play at nights after practice. i was a volleyball player. in highschool.”
“really?” you hummed, looking over his room. judging by the way it looked when you walked in, you would have never guessed. a metallica poster was hung on the wall, alongside some other artists he loved. his room screamed musician, more so than formal athlete.
“yeah.” a faint smile tinted his face as he looked at the guitar, and then back to you. “our episode today is on engagement within the college community, right?”
“right,” you responded, “and this is our practice run. so our live run is perfect.”
“yes. my band is playing at a basement show next week. think we could announce it. it’s definitely good for engaging with campus.”
“don’t see why not,” you shrugged.
“you should come too.” he paused for a moment, brown eyes warm and eager. “it would be good to see a familiar face.”
you thought that was the end of it.
until you saw him on stage…
