📖 Story: Diala… Still Holding On

Diala never imagined her life would turn into a daily fight for survival.

Diala is 31 years old, from Gaza.

She graduated in Health Administration in 2017, got married in 2019, and is a mother of three:

Hisham (6 years old), Moamen (4 years old), and little Taj… her miracle baby.

Before the war, her life was stable:

a home, a car, jobs for her and her husband, and a sense of security.

But in a moment… everything was lost.

With the war, Diala lost her home, her stability, and her livelihood.

As famine spread, her health severely declined due to malnutrition, leading to kidney stones and the placement of a stent to ease her pain.

Despite everything… she was pregnant.

On May 7, 2024, Diala suffered a serious head injury, resulting in a skull fracture while she was in her fifth month of pregnancy.

Doctors faced a heartbreaking decision… her life or her baby’s.

But against all odds, Taj survived and was born—a symbol of life in the midst of suffering.

Today, Diala and her family of five live in a tent that cannot protect them from the heat of summer or the cold of winter.

And her struggle is not over…

💔 She urgently needs two surgeries:

The first: reconstructive surgery for her head injury

The second: removal of kidney stones and the stent

💔 Her family also needs at least $50 per day just to cover basic food and essential needs.

Still, Diala continues to hold on.

She is not asking for luxury… only:

a safe place, a chance for a dignified life, and a stable source of income to protect her children from hardship.

Her goal is to raise $25,000

to start over… and rebuild a life for her family.

I am Mamdouh Al-Amoudi from Gaza, The father of five children: Lana, Muhammad, Amin, Youssef, Yazan, and my wife Samia. We are currently living horrible conditions that are heavily affecting my children’s health. My son, Muhammad is ill with pulmonary atrophy (a chronic, progressive lung disease) and needs to travel abroad for treatment (pictures of the diagnoses are provided). We have been displaced more than 5 times due to the war and genocide, which has affected his health condition.

I'm struggling to provide my children with the food and nutrition they need. We can't afford anything for my family because the prices are increasing rapidly as food is becoming very rare to find. We're living in dangerous circumstances; our homes have been destroyed and our dreams shattered. It makes us sad to see our bright children being robbed from a childhood they deserve. We need donations to help us leaving Gaza for better life as we can find proper treatment for our son Muhammad and better environment for our children.
