Long time no seeee! I’m hella late with posting it BUT this Christmas I participated in jeanmarco Gifts Exchange organised by @jmgiftexchange. So it was my gift for @the-inquisition-needs-more-beees.

My blog’s been dead for the last couple of months weeks. All because of my lack of motivation. I was genuinely afraid of touching a pencil because I was convinced I lost my skill. Today though, I felt so bored I got down to drawing and it didn’t go that bad. I’m actually proud of how it went. Apart from the drawing above, I did some more sketches so don’t think it magically appeared with no warm up! 

I’m still in the ATSIT hell, let me be forgiven. @southspinner, I’m tagging you because I love your atsit!Marco and you need to see my drawing of him (which I shamelessly admit to liking). I also have some more digital sketches of Sasha and Michael saved somewhere but right now let’s admire Marco~

Last summer I started reading the SnK fanfiction All The Stars In Texas by the one and only @southspinner but somehow I dropped it halfway due to the lack of time and wow I’m rereading it. I’m quite certain I’ve never read anything (neither fanfiction nor book) as amazingly written as ATSIT. I can’t even express how much I adore your work, @southspinner! 

I needed to draw something to let all the emotions out and found this amazing photo of Carole Lombard which really reminded me of atsit!Annie. That’s my contribution to the atsit fandom.

I haven’t been posting for a few months because I was too overworked with school and preparing for my final exams. I’m already done with everything connected with school so I have plenty of time for myself and for doing things I should’ve been doing during my schoolyear to relax. However, I’ve forgotten about myself back then and everything - my skills, my knowledge about things that interest me - everything was totally neglected. Right now I need to start from the beginning and to be honest I’m not happy about it.

I’m tired of getting these stupid offers to work on people’s “passion projects” for free, usually with the promise of compensation when/if the project takes off. Guess what? I don’t care that you’re passionate about it, I care if you’re competent. When you knock on my door asking for free work, its a clear sign that you aren’t. You might have hopes that your project hits it big and that you’ll eventually get rich off of it, but if you REALLY believed in it, I feel like you’d be more willing to put your own livelihood on the line instead of asking an artist to do it for you. If I do a bunch of free work hoping it’ll pay off, I’m not doing other work that could actually feed me and pay my bills. And what happens when the project doesn’t get funded or some important factor blows up or everyone decides to quit out early? I get screwed. So, no. I don’t want to work on your passion project. Not unless I get paid up front.

The amazing feeling when you hold your pencil and it doesn’t matter what you draw. What counts is the process of drawing and it’s giving you so much fun that you feel alive again! Yeah, my finals start next month. Guess how much I care! A lot actually…

shading colour tips

hey yall its me the Art Mom™ to help you shade pretty

rule 1: DO NOT SHADE WITH BLACK. EVER. IT NEVER LOOKS GOOD. 

red- shade with a slightly darker shade of purple

orange- slightly darker and more saturated shade of red

yellow- i think like..a peach could work but make it a really light peach

green- shade with darker and less saturated shade of blue or teal

blue- shade with purple

purple- a shade thats darker than the purple you’re using and maybe a little pink (MAYBE blue)

pink- darker shade of red

white- a really light lavender or blue..or i guess any really light colour??

black- okay listen dont use pure black to colour anything unless you want to leave it with flat colours because you cant really shade black lol

grey- a slightly darker shade of purple or blue (less saturated)

brown- slightly darker and less saturated shade of purple or red

aaaaand thats all i got lol. let me know if there is anything i should add to this list!!
