So, I could really use some opinions on who to cosplay next. I really want to start working on a costume again maybe for ACen if I have the money to get a will call badge…, but I’m not really sure which character I want to work on first.

The costumes that I’m currently trying to decide between are:

Armin Arlert from Shingeki no Kyojin

Chihiro Fujisaki from Dangan Ronpa

Chizuru Yukimura from Hakuōki

Shion from No. 6 (including the jacket that’s not depicted)

I’m open to other suggestions if you want to throw them at me.

Protip Fandom: Chizuru doesn’t have to knock off heads to be a strong character. Stop equating strong as only meaning that a character must have physical strength.

Despite the fact that she’s a demon, she was never raised to be a fighter. Please at least try to take into account the time period. It’s not fair to judge her alongside men who are warriors—some of whom were raised in a dojo. Not alone are they incredibly skilled, but they have killed dozens of people prior to the beginning of the localized game.

Chizuru has never killed anyone before. She doesn’t really know how to fight that well. So of course she’s not going to want to train herself to be just like them and start killing people, and why should she have to?

The fact is she’s incredibly emotionally strong. She’s resilient, she’s caring, she’s kind, she’s loyal. For someone who has seen everything that she witnesses, and she stays true to who she is throughout the game, that’s amazing. Stop demeaning those traits, they’re good traits to have. They’re hardtraits to maintain when you’re living with an army and surrounded by death.

If you think every female character has to be a Fem!Shep that comes in guns blazing, “getting shit done,” then you don’t understand what it means to be a multi-faceted character. You don’t really care about representation of women in video games—because all you care about is that they cater to one idea of what it means to be strong. If you really cared, you’d support characters like Chizuru just as much because she is a woman, too, and she IS strong.
