You gasp, juice dripping down your chin and fingers as you take a bite of the ripe peach you’d pulled out of your bag. You try not to let any of the sticky liquid drip onto your towel, cupping underneath the fruit with your other hand as you lean to the side to let it hit the sand instead. Giggling, you shake off your hand, straightening to look at Rafe propped up on his side across from you.

“Want a bite?” You offer, shifting onto your knees to reach him better. He smiles as you position a hand under the peach while he takes a bite. He catches your wrist before you can pull your hand away, bringing your fingers to his mouth to lick off the rest of the juice.

“What a mess.” He remarks, lips curling into a smirk, as he holds your neck to kiss you. His thumb swipes across the top of your chest. “It’s everywhere.”

You grin, “Then I guess it’s a good thing we’re by the ocean.” You jump to your feet and start jogging to the water, picking up your pace when you glance back and see him running toward you.

He catches you from behind and pulls you to his chest, kissing anything he can reach as you bend in on yourself, giggling. Once you make it to the water, you both wade out far enough that the water is up to your necks, splashing each other on the way.

“Truce!” You exclaim. He narrows his eyes, splashing you one more time as he grabs your arm to pull you closer. You laugh, calling him evil, but wrap your legs around his waist anyway. Your arms rest easily over his shoulders, and his hands grip the backs of your thighs as you kiss him. He can still taste the peach in your mouth.
