Today I Saw Someone

Today I saw someone who looked like my friend that died earlier this year.

Can I call her my friend? She was kind of annoying. She was also sweet though, and I did like her. My brother liked her more.

I saw someone sitting outside a restaurant, and the shape of their face and the texture of their hair reminded me of her. For a moment, I thought they were her, and then I remembered that she’s dead.

It’s so weird. She was younger than me. I still barely understand it, even though I know people die all the time.
