Already posted a few of him but gangs leader is Mr. Caden Wallace, an old Scotsman who, after heartbreak and a rushed engagement, faked his death and fled to the states to start over. Guy was pretty bitter and angry with the world at that point and didn't take him long to get on the wrong side of the law.
Not too long into his new life, during one of his jobs working for a wealthy family as muscle for hire, the guy met and fell hard for their med student daughter, Miss Magnolia
She honestly wasn't impressed with her parents choice in bodyguard who seemed to only take the job for their booze but sjdkff several months and jobs later and the lady fell hard for the outlaw, running away with him the night he was set to leave town for good
Many years on the run and three kids later, the Wallace's ran into a group of deserters from the Irish military who had fled to the states. A single father and his small daughter he hoped for a better life for, Lorcan and little Mirin (don't have sketches of them yet) and then Lorcan's best friends Sean and Brónach (along with Brónach's wife Blathnaid)
Wallace had sympathy for the dad in the group and offered to let them set up camp with his family for a while (and a while became indefinite when the men started riding and pulling heists with him to keep themselves afloat- very mixed feelings about that and very different levels of trust in Wallace within the small Irish group- the drama between friends over it is an understatement.)
Few years later and the absolute worst happened, Caden and Maggie's oldest, Gayle, was killed by a rival gang during a job with dad when he was only in his mid teens, leaving the couple completely shattered. Bronach was trusted as Wallace's right hand man at that point, the old man just couldn't handle being the only one people looked up to to make decisions anymore. Not long after the Wallace's lost their daughter Lir to illness as well.

Around the same time, another permanent addition to the small gang, the muscle and best hunter of the group- norseman Aasmund and his best friend Dagny (rip need to draw Dags still BUT I love the lady so much, she and Sean tend to care for the horses and she has this huge old drafthorse shes had forever and she and Aasmund payed to bring overseas with them when they moved)
Several years later, when little Mirin is around 10, Caden and Brónach stumble across two young boys around Mirin's age who are all on their own in the world but refuse to leave each other's sides. Wallace gives them a little money and when the boys try to rob the adults a few days later, it takes a little convincing but Alistair and Cillian are welcomed into the fold.
The bulk of the drawings and story beats we're playing with are around 8 years later when the boys and Mirin are around 18 and Miss Maeve, who's about the same age, has recently joined. (Aasmund and Dagny found her pickpocketing to survive after her father died, his business went bankrupt and she was left alone in the world. They managed to get her out of a tricky situation where she almost got caught robbing someone blind, but a story for another day.)
And like yeah! I'm just rambling and there's a lot more about personalities and who gets along with who, different situations that go down and such but ajdjfkf those be the cowboys (and girls)
(Oh! A much later addition to the timeline is Miss Zelda, who during a robbery of her home begs to join the gang to escape her rich family and live her own life freely. It mayyyy or may not put a lot of heat on the gang though by adding elite kidnapping charges to their rapsheet)
