Flashback. Sense of trust.
The young woman looked over the museum and disintegrated what was left of her cigarette. It’s been a while since she joined the Delta - a gang that hunted down and stole artifacts for hire. At a point in her life when she felt particularly lonely she ran into Tony, the leader of the gang and… well… he was a charming man. Too charming not to agree to take part in his schemes. He promised her many things, friendship was among them. Yet more and more she felt like a tool, being the only mutant in the gang, her powers were utilized to break into buildings and such. ”Hey, Psyche!” that was the code name for her in the gang, only Tony knew her as Helena Jane Redford. “What are you waiting for? Let’s get in!” - one of the gang members shouted.
Getting into the museum was easy, a few doors to break, a few guards to brainwash… and soon they found their way to the artifact they were looking for. Hel frowned. Just a small box with runes on it. Amazing. Then usually Helena would just stand and watch the ‘professionals’ work. This time however things went quite differently. She felt someone put a rope over her and before she could react something heavy landed on her head. Jerry’s piece of a metal tube, she thought. “We’ve had enough of you, mutant freak, why Tony even…” - these were the last words she heard before she passed out. She was tied up and thrown aside, and then the gang set to work to bypass the heavy security. They all along had planned on getting the artifact and leaving her there for the police to find.
SHIELD had believed that Kate's ability would help them out in the investigation which was apparently extremely important. Well, important enough for SHIELD to take over. After a long time of Kate explaining that the sense won't work unless she's the one conducting the interrogation against the robber that had been left behind, they pretty much gave her a folder and shoved her into the interrogation room. At least that's what Kate felt happened.
She turned around after taking a large deep breath to calm herself down from those SHIELD agents. "So.. I keep getting told you were involved in stealing an artefact at a museum," Kate stated opening the folder before sitting down infront of this Helena character from what the folder told her, apparently her name was all they got out of her. "But they had left you behind I believe," Kate kept her ears open, waiting for a thought that would be useful. She could only feel the anger coming from Helena, her emotions were very strong she decided.
