Here’s simple ways to becoming a flight attendant.

Fluency in spoken and written English

Since working on a plane allows people to meet with different people all the time so the best way to communicate to each other is to speak international languages such as English. 

     2. Must be over 21+

According to the article called “How To Become A Flight Attendant: Ten Easy Steps” (2019), some international airlines need to serve alcohol, and for legal reasons, the applicants need to be at least 21 years old. However, some domestics airlines allows people who are at least 18 years old too. 

   3.Finish high school degree (at least)

The cool thing about being a flight attendant is applicants do not need to graduate college. A college degree is not needed at all as long as applicants can understand English fluently.

   4.Check the requirements of airlines

Each airline requires different certain requirements. Some airlines set a certain height of male and female but some do not if the applicants are able to reach at least 212 cm (“Are You Tall Enough To Be Cabin Crew”, n.d.). Also, some require TOEIC score results of 650 up and some require a score of at least 600 (Jeeranut, 2017). So check the airline requirements first in order to avoid the mistake.

Flight Attendant is More Than Just a Job

      Almost every girl in the world dreams of being a flight attendant. There are various reasons why girls desire to be a stewardess due to its benefits. Some of the advantages of being a flight attendant are able to travel around the world while getting paid, buy a plane ticket in lower prices, and also the allowance is higher compared to other jobs. All of these reasons attract many girls to apply aviation jobs. However, in order to become a flight attendant is not just about serving customers on a plane but it comes with many great responsibilities.

       Firstly, flight attendants are not just a glorified waitress but they are also in control of the lives of all people on a plane. A cabin crew needs to guarantee that every passage remains fasten seat belt in order to avoid unexpected accident. Moreover, according to the article called “Top 5 Reasons Why A Flight Attendant Job Is Hard” (2019), a flight attendant needs to ensure that every passenger on board stays safe and do not get lost. Passengers is more like children who need to be taken care of by a cabin crew. 

      Secondly, a cabin crew need to cope with turbulence while working. Turbulence is not avoidable for people who work on a plane. Walsh (2018) claims that a flight attendant must know the difference between simple air pocket and extreme turbulence because they have to decide to do an emergency landing or not. So the decision making of a flight attendant is very important for this issue.

      Thirdly, a flight attendant needs to be more aware and take care of their health more than others. As working in the low air pressure on a plane and the lack of sleep can lead body functions to be messed up. For example, jet lag is like a common thing that every flight attendant has to deal with it because traveling cross countries means you have to deal with different time zones. Moreover, traveling by place can affect to your body in various ways which can lead cancer, fertility and digestive problems, and many more (Steegar, 2015). All of these problems are able to increase stress toward people who work or travel on a plane. Hence, being a flight attendant is more than just serving food and drinks on the plane. They have to be responsible with people’s lives and always dealing with turbulence and their own health issues which being a flight attendant is more than just what it looks like.
