If I hear one more comment on the correlation between Nicolaās weight and her attractiveness, Iām going to SNAP. Not only is she STUNNING when not styled to tone it down and barely outside a regular size, but I just donāt understand how twisted our societyās view is on how women are supposed to look like, whatās considered attractive, and the VALUE it puts on freaking LOOKS and weight (and yes, I think minding oneās weight and healthy diet is important to maintain oneās health and hence the quality of life but I donāt see people concerned about blood sugar levels and vascular patency here). Are we out of the 1800s yet or what???
Itās 2024, have we not yet figured out that a pretty face and a skinny body is not all there is to a person? What about their kindness? Their humility? Honesty? Honor? Their ability to empathize, be a friend, care for their family and loved ones, for the world as a whole? Their generosity, their integrity, their values? Their knowledge and their bright mind and what amazing gifts it can share with the world?
I honestly donāt understand how we are still fighting this battle, Iāve been reading this in literary classics since I was a child, I thought we were past this.
P.S. And if we MUST talk about our bodies, why not promote healthy amount of movement, good fat-muscle weight ratio, clean air, eating more vegetables, drinking more water, less screen time for better eyesight, less toxicity and more coping skills? Oh, and more education on everything really, but particularly on how to arrange our lives so that we are healthier and happier both on the outside and inside? No, because who cares, right? Letās just blindly hate on an arbitrary aspect of someoneās appearance just because we want to win at something instead of, I donāt know, try and make this world a better place, focus on bettering our lives, just loving ourselves, or simply living in the moment - a moment of our life that we will never get back.
