“Katherine!”

outfit swap???
I’m not keeping up with the October quite BUT it’s fun to draw ink regardless~
have some Katherine and Catherine
❤;; just for one night
He fancied his soon to be bored self with the shared bickerings among the thick crowd. Smoke of varying colors filled the dim museum, emphasizing the wonder that marched from eye to eye. They were not exactly bright lights funded for jumbled attraction, but more of a ray to lead thine eyes towards a newfound salvation, opposing every reason one could have to invite themselves over a mere grandieur. Preparations were neatly made, tuxedo of some sorts with a cut rose doning above the location where the chest pocket should be. Tonight was not and will never be quite special.
As to praise himself for not lacking in enthusiam despite being confronted by mere strangers, feet dragged him willingly to sight the variations of expensive waste. A shot to commemorate his survival and independency, an act that one would never think of celebrating unless they were kidnnapped to somewhere unknown with no means of exit discovered. Cocktails of mixed hues were ones the ladies of the night took a gulp in. Men being men, filling their bellies with buckets of golden beer accompanied by exaggerated fits of laughter. He wouldn’t deny he envied them for bonding though, he couldn’t really.
But he ended up being quite content of the situation he ended in. Despite no familiar face to tap his back when he’s had enough of the only brand of sake available, he has yet to falter and the hand that crawled upon his shoulder has yet to scare him and god, did he not expect an actual hand would dare touch him, at least not one that was owned by the only person in the city he was close or acquainted with. Recognizing her would be laughable, but her voice called him out before he was able to complain.
"I’ve been drinking for hours. You really got me there."
Funny how the only person she was acquainted with was also here in this party, but then again the world was small enough to be prone to coincidental meetings such as this. Ever since their last adieu from their prior meeting, she rarely had plans to visit him as she didn't wish to interrupt his plans (if he even had one). While it was true that both of them were stripped away from jobs and rules, that didn't mean they should abandon them completely. Responsibilities were the reason she was an ambitious woman, seeking for opportunities in exchange of wasting time pleasurably.
Women had fancied themselves with luxuries and make up to cover their identities, which would was understandable for him to not catch her until she spoke. Though she hadn't expected for him to throw him off guard that much, a sincere tone accompanied in her apology. ❤;; “Sorry, did I bother you? I didn't realize it was you until you turned around. I should have at least kept a distance before calling you out.”
❤;; “Did you bring anyone else with you?" She gazed around her surroundings, prepared to catch a glimpse of whoever he brought if that were the case. To admit she had come alone right off the bat would have led the conversation into an awkward stance, which was why she had asked just to keep clear of everything. Eyes then gathered towards the bar displayed beside them, an align of vibrant drinks waiting to be picked up by delicate hands and to be consumed for personal cheers.
❤;; start over
Streets quite abberant prolonged the uneasiness that strolled alongside the pair when they deserted their unchosen cage of uncalled reunion which both wordlessly approved of and accepted as there aren’t really much options for them to have the right to act so pathetically picky. The dire nod should be more than sufficient as a gratification of their inner minds and eyes would dawn to confirm such thoughts if only for the moment they’re currently participating in. Small chatterings issued from textured and aged corner to corner, yet the calmn and collected man heard nothing but her miniscule intake of air.
And how often does two people from the same constructed universe meet in a city so monstrously large? The chances were undeniably next to impossible, if not already. However, the two have closed and unknowingly reached such miracle which eventually led him to place his belief upfront and depend on fate once more. He already gave up on the mere possibility of her being the wandering soul to match and comfort his. Nevertheless, he silently reinstated his romantic feelings but with enough control to not spill the obvious though sure enough she was not a fool to not notice this.
Each step felt like he depended on a mere lifeline that was never there and though he was a fast walker at best, he conditioned himself to match with her pace as to not leave her behind. It might have been a good metaphor of whatever connection they have — how often he would stop and think to concern himself with her but never once suited her to rush. He of all people knew that pressure being involved in decision makings are usually tailed by numerous regret and even though her mind would still not change despite the small steps, he’ll remain.
Car horns filled the lively roads of Hive but he could still hear her jolt a query towards his direction, amazingly so. Sharp senses and contained composure was all he fleshed, he sometimes thought perhaps she liked loud ones and found more comfort in siding with them. He wasn’t exactly a silent person though, he just believed that every word that would lip beyond him should make sense as people are always and will always be listening — like how they do with each other now. "Damned how we’re both new here, eh?" Together, she states. He thinks so too.
There was nothing odd for a woman to find interest and shoot her curiosity towards a women’s clothing store. For a man to do that however, was entirely different story in itself. It would embarrass him if she was to ask him about his purpose of being there, but it was a relief that she seemed to have forgotten about it and they’re both fine with moving on. So as to not drag the topic of the store once more and avoid being interrogated by her, he carefully dismissed the very sentence and quickly recovered by directly answering her question.
This was his chance to speak more about himself than ever did with anyone. "Alive and fairing rather typically. Got no real desire to die in some strange place so you just have to make up with what’s there." Maybe he’s overdoing it but he’s actually having fun by just talking. "Trying to get the hang of things still and… getting used to talking animals."
These uncertain moments in which she had little to respond to had left her perplexed with someone whom she had rejected not so long ago. The feeling was not mutual to her, considering she was a woman who knew what to expect and what she wanted. Yet, for once, she couldn't come up with a resolution to this. Outwardly, she walked along his side without a fuss, acting maturely as she should have been. Of course, she was also taking this as rationally as possible. Vincent would have panicked by now, trying to reassure her everything would be alright through that frenzied expression of his. Simultaneously, it would have been her taking care of him by soothing his nerves.
Everyone would have noticed by now they were quite polar opposites that somehow had their fates intertwined temporarily for an extended period of time. Again, she had reasons for allowing herself to get that far with him. While he appeared to be a wreck, that was why she was there for him. In other words, she took responsibility for whatever the damage he could have done. Obviously, it didn't mean taking everything in and babysitting her past lover. Instead, she wanted him to take charge on his life by hoping to help him realize that. But in the end, it was simply too much for her to endure.
Heels naturally clicking against the cold pavement, thoughts only seemed to cloud her mind while remaining silent until she was addressed by the other. ❤;; “This wasn't expected, just this morning I was heading out to work and...” Not being able to complete her sentence, she was certain he knew the drill of the rest.
How often was it that two people from the same world came across a different one? If anything, she supposed she was thankful for that. It wasn't as if she wouldn't have been able to handle the weight that would have been brought upon this occasion, however like all humans she was concerned of the future. If she were to stay here forever... then what would happen to her life? Would she need to start all over? Heck, these steps that she took could signify that she already was. Only, there was a friend to trust by her side. Well... that's what she assumed, at least.
❤;; “I just hope we aren't completely lost. I don't want to be wandering around here until sunset.” She hadn't meant to complain, but the thought truly did bother her. They needed to go to assigned 'apartments', wherever that was. Surprises like these were not her cup of her tea, and it hardly was the time to joke around. What could they do, anyway. Didn't one of those people who was responsible for this say they were partaking some 'experiment'? The sound of it didn't ring quite fondly to her, finding no anticipations whatsoever with this circumstance.
Staying close by his side, the woman scrunched her brows carefully at his words. Fear wasn't the term to describe it, but rather a need for clarification. ❤;; “You saw those too? I assumed they were just costumes... This city is already starting to freak me out a little.” There weren't many things that caught on her nerves, usually overcoming them or brushing them to the sides. Pretending to think that everything displayed here was 'normal' was ludicrous in itself, or so that was what she was getting from this.
❤;; “Hey, how about that one?” Slowing down her steps, she tapped him on his shoulder and pointed across a cafe much similar to the one that she had always visited with the other man. It brought some reminiscence, a comforting feeling to welcome when stranded in a strange destination.
❤;; “Valentine's Day is just around the corner...”
❤;; start over
A midnight scowl would lead to a further bane and he knew of that fact quite well. If he spoke, a gist of his surprise would follow as he did not expect her to put previous priorities behind to spend time with him — not like he sees it as anything more than a friendly company. They have done things like these in the past — ones that brought the whole group together — ones that made him appreciate her being all the more. He kept his thoughts to himself, an act that happens rarely as he was known to be the most honest in their clique.
But he knew better than to question her decisions. Unlike their local mutual friend who ruined everything, she doesn’t behave so sluggishly and poorly, which angered him when Vincent even had the audacity to suspect her of infidelity. His opinion wasn’t affected by his personal feelings, but more of the fact that he trusts her enough to not stoop so low. Then again, one thing that he couldn’t understand about her was how she kept on falling for people who didn’t know how to properly take care of her. But it’s fine. It’s what defines her as a human being.
The ferocity of life was hard to decipher. It’s how they’re both well-versed in maintaining their daily routines business wise. However, when it comes to romantic relationships it appears they both need a good kick in the head to wake up. She’s doing much better than him though, as she did not just jump in another relationship as most would have done so and yet he’s stuck in his box of contained feelings for her, not even having the right size of balls to tell her that his affections for her over the course of years hasn’t changed in the slightest.
"Heh… that’s a good load off of ours backs."
After trying to fill himself in if she’s really fine with not purchasing anything, he sighed in defeat and pressed both hands back in the pockets of his jeans. It was a habit that he didn’t recognize and didn’t care enough to acknowledge. He stared at her, back at the racks of dresses and shifted at hers again. There was something appealing in him being able to gaze at her and her eyes without feeling awkward, embarrassed or anxious — like it was natural for him to lay his own towards the woman he poured his heart onto, small deal.
"I’m fine with whatever. I haven’t ventured much so you go on ahead and lead the way."
Even though he gave her the signal to commence, he was the one who started turning first to head onward. He had to, for he remembered that he really didn’t have a reason to be inside a women’s clothing store — at least nothing he would admit to her of all people.
"Yeah, don’t mention it."
There was always a motto she had seemed to gone by, 'no one can stay broken forever, and instead had to find a way to fix themselves'. Each trial of love that had tested her capability had only become lessons of not falling so low for people, and as studious as she was with her morals, she was able to accept her flaws. It wasn't the tendency to fill in the void of her solitary, but the sensation that came from within. Love itself was a selfish matter, leaving the individual wanting for more and thus becomes prone to mistakes of forgetting loyalty.
Not only was she accused of a false rumor, but to hear excuses to put cheating in a different light was absolutely heartbreaking to her. Up until now, she had avoided being too dramatic with it. As well composed as she was, she knew emotions would get her nowhere. An outburst would only lead to complications of something that should have been let go of, and even then she had to blame herself for still being uncertain. With him not around, who would listen to her? He was the only one that needed to hear her opinions on this and no one else.
Of course, there was her childhood friend in front of her that was willing to be all ears for her. There were no intentions of sharing the burden with him though, which furthered the reason of keeping the issue isolated from him as much as possible. Both were stranded in this bizarre city with little knowledge of it, that should have been the main concern for now. Cooperation was acknowledged by her, not once had he made her raise her voice that exerted control.
In fact, it dawned upon her that this was a rare occasion of not having to be in charge for once and instead power was equalized between them. Frankly, she found it quite comforting in many ways.
Eyes lowered as she was told to lead the way, having to interrupt that notion with the truth of her position. Also, it seemed that it was him that wanted to make a pathway for them.
❤;; “I'm not familiar with the roads myself, so we'll have to look for it together. I only happened to stop by this store because it caught my attention.”
Following along his side, eyes caught glimpse of the man beside her. It was no secret that he developed feelings for her, considering it was him who had directly told her not so long ago. Was it natural to behave this way after a decline from the woman he seemed to care for? Perhaps, they were friends after all. To crush that bond with something so shallow would have been as despicable as it sounded; and yet, it was her that wasn't completely neutral.
This person, her friend who seemed to comprehend her, had given her the benefit of doubt to let this go far more smoothly than she had expected. She supposed that was enough for her to return those mannerisms too.
The last thing she wanted was another long-term relationship being torn apart by love. Silence bestowing them, she made attempts to make the conversation flow with a simple topic.
❤;; "So, have you been doing well? I mean, it's been long since I've seen you.”
❤;; just for one night
A ball was something she would have never imagined in partaking if not the invitations sent out. So instead of declining and letting it become a fruitless of an opportunity, she treated herself for one night in letting her enjoy the occasion after overcoming much thought.
Of course, for a ball she had chosen a dress that had caught the best of her interests along with a mask that hid her fair features. Hair tied into a bundle as she always preferred it to be, she set journey to the museum, a moment of appreciation given to its exteriors before entering. Immediately, she had noticed many that had come along with partners and friends, celebrating each other for the festive night. It hadn't pierced her to sulk her position, keeping it firm and poised like expected. Along the sidelines stood the crowd that came for a pleasant evening talk, musing themselves over the music that flowed in the air to set atmosphere.
Now standing beside the table occupied with refreshments, she kept a distance away from the populated sections, not wanting to become too overwhelmed by anonymous people yet. And it hadn't occurred to her until she wasn't alone near the aligned drinks. Head turned to the direction of the other, she first initiated a talk, an offer in which she hoped would be accepted in their terms.
❤;; “Excuse me-” A hand softly being placed on the broad shoulders out of sincerity, it then hit her.
❤;; “Jonny, is that you?” Even through the mask she was able to recognize very familiar features of her friend, a welcoming face in fact that had saved her from solitary. Almost scrutinizing him to clarify one last time, once she was satisfied she almost felt amazed that he would be in such a place like this.
❤;; “Did you arrive just now?”
You awake to discover 4 or 5 presents stowed away in your abode, all of which have been boxed in pristine, vibrantly wrapped boxes adorned with bows. Some of these boxes contain: a spray bottle labeled 'Bruh Repellant', several extremely classy pantsuits, a pack of ant traps, socks . (This is not to be published or responded to until the 25th. Happy Holidays!)
Everything seemed alright for presents, except for two that seemed to be a complete joke.
Very amusing.
❤;; “Where would I even need ant traps for?”
Maybe giving this to Vincent would be more befitting than herself.
❤;; start over
Past events must have cut through her deep, the laceration worsened the moment this unexpected occurrence arrived to greet with loose hands, waving off in the air as if to signify that freedom was no longer an option, only a crystallized version of sweet nothings that both of them have tasted in their fare share of love affair. Absentmindedness, a side of Katherine that shouldn’t have a place in her being, yet to deny it existed was denying her fully, in which he had no plans in doing, not in a million years. It was the antithesis of her and Vincent that he liked to acknowledge. Even so, they were similar and he has no choice but to accept it.
His mind is full of what ifs’ right now. What if it was him, what if she felt the same way, what if she wants to take her word back. Hell, despite her showing signs of exhaustion he’s still thinking about himself and to tell the truth, he was ashamed. She deserved a break from all these and he’d try not to make that burden heavier by lifting it off of her himself. To inter personal feelings aside would be preferable if he wishes for her to actually depend on him as a friend, as well as anything else. If there was something else that is.
She wasn’t thinking of that day too, was she? Perhaps he should make it clear and convince her that it’s no big deal, that she’s worrying about something so menial. He understands why she had to reject him and it’s not just because she just went through a breakup but more of the idea that maybe he just wasn’t her type. Shrugging once more and returning the hanger back to where it belonged, he thought of better ways to explain things to her and brush off her concerns. He made an attempt to mumble but realized afterwards that she might want to hear it clearly from him. Placing a hand in front of his face to rub his knuckle against his nose, he sighed before pulling it away.
"Do you want to go somewhere after this?" Anywhere would do. They could drink their problems away and discuss about respective future plans. Just anything that could let them forget for now. "If you’re thinking about last time, I’m fine." If the fact that he cried was an indication, it sure was a bullshit one. Stare didn’t shift, locked with hers as to address how serious he was about the things he said, the things he did and the things he’s bound to do. "We’re friends, aren’t we? Just because you rejected me during that one time doesn’t mean I should and would just leave you on your own."
It must have been insincere for her to tease him about that, a fault in which she shouldn't have meddled with at all. Pressure must have been taking her mind, to act not like herself and pretend to be someone she wasn't. Though, she wasn't trying to be exact. She had never forced her demeanor into someone she didn't want to be. Frank and composed to what she truly believed was right, that had always been her character. Perhaps being too honest may have given its thorns for avoidance in relationships, therefore requirement in bearing them and being able to sort it out was essential.
Relationships had its fair share of twisting fates up, one day everything would work out while the next would all go down. That was a reality she knew and kept in mind, knowing how it wasn't always as simple as she'd like them to be. Only, would it hurt if love gave her another chance? Would it be too selfish to ask for someone that would finally be her one? Desperation was far out of her realm, but such roaming thoughts were inevitable from given times. Moments like these where she happened to spy on the person who had asked her out were exactly what made her consider them.
Eyes wandered down at the clothing racket, giving a thoughtful look of ponder at his offer. No tension was there to force down a 'no', and his tone held sincerity to what he had stated. He had made a valid point, there was no reason for her to become intimidated by a long term friend whom she trusted with a respectful eye. And it had been such a long time since both were able to communicate properly out of their busy lives. Maybe a conversation where arrangements and jobs weren't involved would be refreshing, a break to replenish what had been repeated and instead catch up on each other without further interruptions.
Of course, no plans were scheduled when she was isolated from them all. Eyes softening at the other, she spoke to clarify her final answer.
❤;; “I suppose.”
❤;; “How about we go right now? I can't guarantee we'll be able to find somewhere like the Chrono Rabbit, but we can always settle in for a new one.”
Her sweet tooth would take course in action after both agreed to a location, but she was also open for any other ideas that he may had in mind. Heart at ease with no conceptualized compulsion to make matters worse, she assumed that this was a bliss. Sealing her lips, she parted them once more to mention her gratitude.
❤;; “By the way, Jonny, thanks for making this easier. I really appreciate it.”
divinisms:
「 ♪ 」 — It should have been simple, really. Something even a child could do, but there she was, struggling with it anyway. During her wandering of the city a figure had brushed by her and knocked her hair out of her ponytail. It should have been fine, but upon picking the tie off the hard ground she discovered that it had somehow been broken in half. She remained in that place attempting to fix it ever since. It was her only means of keeping her hair back after all, having it blowing around all the time would be such a nuisance.
❝I…❞ She doesn’t know how to respond at first. The woman addressing her seemed quite dignified, she probably thought Tiki was a complete idiot for struggling with something so juvenile. ❝I must look quite silly to you, don’t I?❞
An observance of the handed situation, she immediately noticed the broken accessory in which attempts were given to recycle its usage. Frankly, she didn't deem the style as too horrendous, it actually felt more natural. Letting it loose was a trend nowadays, wasn't it? Well, at least it was encrypted in those fashion magazines she happened to pick up once in a while. Letting the analysis sink in, she supposed anyone would have a difficult time in having to tie a broken ornament.
❤;; “It isn't that bad, don't worry about it.”
❤;; “Seems to be broken as good, we should get you a new one. Do you know any places where we could get you another?”
ladypoetamagicien:
Rosie turned, scanning the road to decide which way to go. There was a coffee shop nearby. Oh right, that way. She gestured with a nod of her head and started in that direction.
A few moments later, the woman asked her a question.
"Just two weeks. Took a few days to figure how to get by without a permanent living space, though. My name is Rosie, by the way. Rosie Lalonde. Did you just arrive?" Rose waited for an answer, pushing her hands into the pockets of her sweater. It was quite a lot colder than when she had first been deposited in the underground caverns of District Gamma. Thankfully, she had been able to obtain some winter clothes without too much hassle. Truthfully winter clothes had really been the least of her concerns thus far.
Two weeks, almost coming close to a month in a couple more weeks. Thinking of how such a long frame of time wouldn't bother her was something she picked up on, but perhaps she was accustomed to it by now. After all, what did those scientists say again? They were in a social experiment? The thought of it was somewhat terrifying, being left ambiguous of what this 'project' was all about, but she hoped that it wouldn't be too much of a concern.
❤;; “Yeah, I'm Katherine. It's nice to meet you.” Not a moment was she sidetracked in her thoughts, her mind still clearly catching up with what she was saying. But something caught her off guard once again, a valuable detail that was announced by the other. Wait, she didn't have a house of her own?
❤;; “Don't you have an apartment?”
ladypoetamagicien:
Rose had been on one of her explorations when a stranger asked her a question. She quickly caught on to the fact that she was a PC- a real person, imported to the city, as opposed to the numerous pedestrians that wandered around.
"Certainly. Would you like me to take you there? I often found myself turned around when I first arrived." She looked the woman up and down, somewhat pleased by her appearance. She could always use more people to talk to.
Thankfully, the person whom she caught attention was someone who seemed to know better in locations than she did. Obviously, her lack of knowledge came from the fact that she was new to the area. It would only be days until she memorized the Sectors spread across the streets.
❤;; “That would be wonderful.” A notion of thanks was given before letting her lead the way. For a second she didn't have much to say with the new company, quietly walking along her side in a fashionable manner. A question then came to mind, in which made her ponder whether if she truly wanted to ask it or not. In the back of her head, she doubt that she wanted to know the answer but she knew herself well that she couldn't just deny the truth.
❤;; “ So how long have you been here?”
❤;; start over
Hard to pronounce why he began liking Katherine in the first place. All things considered, it wasn’t really that complicated of a matter. She was a woman worth admiring for being able to patch things up and somehow manage her world with her own hands, not needing someone’s help. However, like many others, she can feel pain and she sometimes have everything against her wants. If he was the one who comforted her , that night her heart ached, would things have taken a better turn? Vincent was a good person, but hell, even he could tell that his best friend didn’t deserve someone like her. She was better off without him.
He wasn’t happy to hear about Vincent cheating, especially when the one his best friend was cheating on was the person he held deep affections for. While it’s true that he had every right to tell the other to piss off, in the end, the relationship of the two was something only they have the right to give a damn about. Still, there’s no helping that he feels awful for not telling Katherine. She was his best friend too, she deserved to know that her boyfriend, or rather, ex-boyfriend cheated on her and yet he decided to keep zip his mouth and turn a blind eye on everything. Can he really say he respected Katherine better?
Even if he did let her know of the infidelity, she wouldn’t just believe him. Katherine was the type to confirm things to people first before jumping and forming her own conclusions, which in turn, would be just him betraying Vincent too. Hell, he betrayed the both of them in the end and he hasn’t said a single word of apology, not like it would matter anyway. He shrugged at the comment, discomfort evident in his eyes. Certainly, she’s just holding onto an attempt to lighten the load, but if he was to admit, her chosen method this time was rather poor. Probably because of their surreal situation.
"Quite the comedian. Katherine, I’m not seeing anyone."
By now, it was natural to become the victim of another broken heart again. It happened last time, so what was the difference now. The answer: nothing. It was the same old routine where she would have to deal with it regardless of what anyone told her. Even comforting words now seemed like dust compared to before. From this, she realized that maybe she was rushing things too quickly, not observing carefully before choosing her poison. Love was terrible, yet it was endearing in many ways. All she wanted was to start a life with a spouse she could depend on, someone that was honest to her instead of hiding their backs to her. Was it too much to ask? Maybe, considering how things ended up.
This time, she wasn't going to fall for the same methods again. If anyone wanted to prove their love to her, then they needed to be straightforward with it. No double crossing fingers of 'forever and more', just laying the answer right in front of her. From her perspective, it was better to get over it rather than having to drag it along like some sort of luggage. Of course, Jonny could have fit the description she listed out, but again she simply couldn't see him like that for now. They were just close friends and nothing beyond that boundary, two people that were trying to find this 'soul mate' that apparently was out there somewhere.
The joke gone unappreciated, she went back to her usual self, cutting off the fun that she rarely showed. He could have at least went along with a small laughter, even if it was a sarcastic one. If he was going to act that way though, then there was no point in really pushing the efforts as well. She should have expected that, Jonny was a guy who knew what he wanted. He was someone who would commit his love to his one and only, almost never slacking off until the feelings completely wore off. In a peculiar sense, she could say that she was like that too. Except it was her who decided to cut off the strings between her and Vincent when the latter option came.
❤;; “Look, I'm trying to make this as less stressful as is it. Right now, I don't know what I'm going to do.” There she was, her admit to being clueless from this point on.
❤;; “I just... can't go on like this anymore.” A soft tone this time, she felt as though she said her defeat in this. Her life was built up for a future, but it still lacked for her to be dissatisfied about it.
❤;; start over /jonny/
Forever was such a funny word. There’s no certainty in it now, is there? It could be just a temporary thing or maybe they can leave the place and they have yet to try. Still, what was so bad about all these? Perhaps the fact that they’re away with their respective families and the gang not being together for now. Well, if he managed to find her then surely there’s a chance they’re here too, just somewhere. They can try setting up some announcements so others can reach them back if they happen to find anyone. Remembering that they don’t have pictures though, the idea just crumbled in his hands.
He already set himself up for a new start even before he saw her, surely she was just thinking about doing the same thing prior to reuniting with him. In short, there’s nothing to worry about. Even if there is, all he can do is support her in the sidelines as he have always done. Despite the rejection, they were still friends who have known each other for two decades and more, so there was no reason to feel distant, or at least he didn’t have any excuse to give. The fact that he feels just the same as he did towards her before, it shouldn’t be any of her concern. He can deal with his own feelings without bothering anyone, not bothering her.
It wasn’t rare to see her this anxious, but trying to make up of what reality is right now wouldn’t do any of them a favor. So, without the intention to gloss over her feelings, he’d ask her to breathe and find her chills, wherever place they went.
"I don’t know," he sighed. It was a obviously a rhetoric question but he’s not one to keep silent when being asked. "Don’t think too much about it, it will just tire you out. Anyway, are you doing alright so far? Other than the evident confusion."
If she had to say something about Jonny, it was the fact that he was always well thought out with what he had to say. Straightforward, mostly collected, he was the opposite of what she had to deal with when it came to her ex. So bonus points for him on that, but obviously it took more than that to convince her right through. Vincent was the person who gave her advice and comforted her as well, although he had a difficult time doing that compared to the other. It was just incredible how the tables have turned, really. But men were just complicated specimen, weren't they. They can be just too hard to read sometimes, often times even trying to cut through some other way to satisfy themselves.
With family and known acquaintances away, she might as well be considered lost in a situation like this. No mother to call her how things were going with relationships and so on, no career to take care of for now. Honestly, she didn't know how to sum her feelings up about this.
