Today, is a new day.
Still on this...but why?
I’ve reconciled with the likelihood that a documentary about Marriott is a pretty big challenge in an era when so many can tell an immediate albeit fleeting story with images and social media. So why do I think Marriott is still a worthwhile documentary? I still think there’s merit in revealing how this in your face, game-changing moving artist brokered a career and inspired more than a generation on good old fashioned boldness and authenticity. OH yeah...then there was the voice...

When asked what his favorite Small Faces record was, the late, great McLagan told me, “I gotta say ‘Tin Soldier,’ I mean, it’s such a great song. Great sounds on it, it’s just a winner. I can listen to that anytime.” Read More: Top 10 Ian McLagan Songs | http://ultimateclassicrock.com/ian-mclagan-songs/?trackback=tsmclip

Wouldn’t he be so fully and completely proud.
It's July 1985 and while Rock and Roll's great and good are strutting their stuff at Wembley, Steve Marriott is propping up the bar of a dingy pub in Putney waiting to play to a small crowd of boozers. While he waits for the rest of his band, bitter and drunk, an encounter with a young revival Mod restores Steve's faith.
It’s been 18 months since I learned that a film was being made on Marriott, from John Hellier. The short film is now out. It’s worth a watch. For me, my interest in producing a portrait doc on Marriott has been renewed. I’d be interested in what others think.
Does he look familiar? This guy has a powerful singing voice which belied his small stature, and for his aggressive approach…
Yup! Well Said!
