KathNiel Week: Day 6 [May 10]:Â Fandom Crossover, Alternate Universe or Song Lyrics
Note: I’d just like to say that I don’t watch this season’s PBB but I do know Axel, Jane, Michelle and Alex are in it so they’re in the story. I also just found out that Axel has a girlfriend in real life. Whatevs. This is why it’s called an AU for a reason.
Also, this doesn't have that much skinship (sorry) because I wanted it to be realistic and I know Kath & DJ will definitely not be particularly touchy in a house full of cameras and people they just met especially since they haven't admitted as to what the real score between them is.

“So, iha, how’s the shooting for your new movie? Ang she’s dating the gangster.” Boy Abunda, host of Buzz Ng Bayan- the show Kathryn was currently being interviewed at, inquires.
“Masaya naman po, Tito Boy. I’m very excited for everyone to see it.” Kathryn exclaims.
Kathryn was actually wondering why suddenly she has this guesting on BNB when she has no new projects to promote- her new movie isn’t due to show in a month or two. She was also pretty sure that there’s no new issue about her because all they’ve been doing is shoot scenes and work on the movie. But nevertheless, it is work and it has always been a pleasure for her to be interviewed so that her fans may be updated and all that.
“So, the last day of April was Daniel Padilla’s concert, which you were a part of, kumusta naman yon? What was different from this year’s concert to the one last year?” Boy questiones. “Oo nga pala, congratulations sa inyong dalawa. It was quite an event and you looked beautiful.”
“Thank you po.” Kathryn says, sincerely. “Masayang masaya po yung concert. Like you said, successful talaga and that was all because of the fans and-“
Kathryn was cut off by a booming voice.
“Magandang hapon, Kathryn Bernardo.”
“Ay!” Kathryn was shocked. Was this really Big Brother’s voice talking to her?
“Uhm. Magandang hapon rin po, Kuya.” Kathryn replies, looking at Tito Boy and the staff with alarmed yet slightly amused eyes.
“Magandang hapon, Boy Abunda.” Kuya says, greeting the host.
“Magandang hapon rin po, Kuya. Ikinagagalak namin ang iyong pagbisita sa Buzz Ng Baya.” Boy says, warmly.
“Salamat.” Kuya answers. “Kathryn, nasabi sa akin na gusto mo raw pumasok sa bahay ko?”
Kathryn was smiling. She was excited yet nervous at what was happening right that moment. So she answers, “Opo. Gusto kop o.”
“Well, ika nga iha, your wish is my command. Papasok ka ngayon sa bahay ko.” Big Brother announces.
Kath was excited yet apprehensive. It all showed on her face. “Po? Ngayon na po? Agad?” She asks, one after the other, not even pausing for a breath.
“Oo. Ngayon na.” Big Brother answers her. “Sa muli nating paguusap, Kathryn. Paalam.”
“Oh my gosh. Is this really happening.” Kathryn asks, clearly overwhelmed. A production manager of PBB was approaching her with a blindfold.
“This just in mga Kapamilya, si Kathryn Bernardo ay papasok sa Bahay ni Kuya.” Boy announced to the camera and to the studio audience while a now blindfolded Kathryn was being escorted to a van waiting for her outside. Meanwhile, social media platforms were exploding with the news that the Teen Queen has now entered the PBB house.

“Kathryn, pwede mo ng tanggalin ang iyong blindfold.” Kuya states. “Magandang pagdating sa aking bahay, Kathryn Bernardo.”
Kathryn squinted to adjust her eyes to the blinding light after getting used to the darkness behind a blindfold and says, “Thank you po. It’s a pleasure po na inimbitahan niyo po ako sa bahay ninyo.”
“This is so exciting.” Kathryn giddily added.
“Kathryn, gusto ko lang malaman mo na nandoon na sa loob ng bahay ang iyong mga kagamitan.” Kuya informs her.
Kathryn thanks him and apprehensively asks, “Uhm, Kuya. Kasi may taping pa po kami eh, mga ilang araw po ako mags-stay dito?”
Kathryn looked around her, marveled at the room and the mirrors all around her. She couldn’t believe she was inside the Big Brother House. She used to dream about experiencing it for herself because it seemed to be such a great and challenging experience. In truth, Pinoy Big Brother was one of her guilty pleasures when she had the downtime to indulge herself.
“Hindi ko pa pwede sabihin sa iyo kung ilang araw. Pero wa’g kang mag-alala kasi alam na ng mga director at ng iyong mga magulang na nandito ka sa bahay ko.” Kuya assures her. “May tanong ka pa ba, Kathryn?”
“Uhm.” Kathryn starts, she was still debating within herself if she should ask this but curiosity got the best of her, “Uhm. Alam po ba ni DJ na nandito ako sa loob?”
“Patay tayo diyan.” Kathryn whispers, more to herself, while dragging both of her palms on her cheeks. This is not going to bode well with DJ. “Uh. Uh. Uh, pwede po bang pasabihan si DJ na nandito ako? Okay lang po ba yon?” Kathryn bravely asks because knowing DJ, he will most probably be upset with her if she didn’t at least try to find a way to let him know that she’s going inside the Big Brother House.
“Hindi.” Kuya answers, after a beat. “Sa susunod nating pag-uusap, Kathryn. Enjoy your stay in my house.”
“Thank you po.” Kathryn says, dropping the subject because Kuya might get mad at her or she might come off as a pushover. Kathryn looked at her reflection in one of the mirrors and said, “Oh, Deej, I tried, ha? Hindi daw pwede na malaman mo eh.” After sticking her tongue out and laughing at herself, she fixed her dress and made her way into the house, looking forward to her experience.
Daniel’s phone was buzzing non-stop and he was getting annoyed. Why are so many people trying to communicate with me? He opened one text message that came from Patrick Sugui, one of his best friends.
Bro! Ba’t di niyo sinabi na papasok pala si Kath sa Bahay ni Kuya! Binigyan ko sana siya ng tips =)))) Loko lang!
Pumasok sa Bahay ni Kuya? Daniel thought, confused.
Anong bang nakain mo huy?! Ba’t naman siya papasok may taping pa kaya kami! Labo :)))
Ulol! Manood ka ng sarili niyong channel! Buzz Ng Bayan siguraduhin mo. Manood ka tiyak na alam mo ang sinasabi ko.
Daniel quickly went online and saw multiple videos of Buzz Ng Bayan on his timeline and the tweets all said that yes, indeed, Kathryn was already in the house.
What the hell? I wasn’t even told?
Daniel then calls his manager to ask if he can follow Kath into the house because duh, anong gagawin niya sa labas eh, wala naman si Kath. His manager doesn’t allow him to go inside the house because he still has a photo shoot early the next morning. “Pagkatapos nalang, okay?” His manager tells him. Daniel hung up the phone with a sulk and did what he could only do, tune in to Pinoy Big Brother and watch whatever Kathryn is doing in the house.
Kathryn is well on her way to meeting the housemates. She shakes everyone’s hand and quickly changes into house clothes to be more comfortable and to help in their tasks and in the chores. Of course, Kathryn is immediately comfortable with Jane and Alex because they have the most in common, seeing as they are celebrities and also because Kathryn and Jane have known each other for the most part of their lives. But Kathryn and Axel also bond the most because they found out that they have mutual friends, Arisse and Patrick. He teaches her how to cook a proper sunny side up egg (because that’s all he knows how to cook) and she teaches him how to fold his clothes and not just chuck them in his closet.
 While they are folding up clothes, Axel bravely asks, “Okay lang sa boyfriend mo na pumasok ka dito?”
Kathryn chuckles, “Hindi pa niya alam eh. Tsaka, hindi ko siya boyfriend, manliligaw lang.” Kathryn says, lying through her teeth.
“Ah so… Pwede pa pala ako?”
“Loko!” Kathryn says, amused at her new friend.
“De joke lang, that’s always how these kind of conversations go kasi. I felt the need to say it.” Axel says, a matter-of-factly.
“You’re weird.” Kathryn jokingly says while giving Axel the side-eye. They just both laughed right after.
Meanwhile, at home, DJ is seething mad, of course.
Takte. Wala bang respeto to’ng lalakeng to? Oo, joke yun pero hindi pa rin eh. Wala pa ako dun tas may ganon na? Screw this, no freaking way. Daniel thinks. Tol, pinaghirapan ko si Kathryn. Matagal ko nang isinigaw sa buong mundo na siya lang ang babae para sa akin and akin lang siya. Possessive na kung possessive. Boyfriend kaya ako. Hindi pa lang pwede sabihin. Argh.
Daniel ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. He can’t go barging to the PBB House now cause it’s near midnight, that would just be disrespectful.
This is torture. DJ thought as he watched the happenings on his TV screen.
The “supposed moments” between Kathryn and Axel were being showed on screen, complete with slow sweet background music. The moments were nothing normal friends wouldn’t do, it was just the producers and staff members trying to push something that’s clearly not there.
Tsss. Para may ma issue lang eh. Daniel thinks.
Then, the good night hug between Kath and Axel were showed (Kath hugged everyone but of course, they would emphasize this hug), complete with slow motion effects. Daniel was about to throw the remote control at his TV when it cut to Toni Gonzaga’s commentary, “Hmmm, parang may something tong si Axel kay Teen Queen, ano?” Toni says. “Personally, I don’t approve, Team Daniel kaya ako.”
“YES! Thank you, Ate Toni! You da best!” Daniel exclaimes.
Hindi na pwede to, ginagago ako nito eh.
Daniel then looked for his phone. He now has to look for it because what was the point of always holding on to his phone when the one person whose texts and calls he’s waiting for can’t text or call him. He later finds his phone perched on one of the shoes under his bed (don’t ask). Quickly, he looks for his manager’s number and presses call.
“I know, I know, it’s late.” DJ says when his manager finally picks up after 3 rings. Daniel gets impatient when he has a plan that needs executing. “Paki-resched nalang ng photoshoot ko kasi pupunta ako sa Bahay Ni Kuya first thing in the morning.”
“Daniel-“ His manager starts but was cut off by Daniel saying, “Gawan mo nalang ng paraan please. Minsan lang to. Good night. Ahlabyu.” Daniel says before hanging up.
Let’s do this. He thinks as he thrusts his clothes into a carry on luggage.
The next morning, DJ is already at Kuya’s confession room even before the housemates’ wake up call. He has never woken up that early without anyone trying to push him out of his bed. He also woke up smiling and excited at the prospect of today.
“Oh, Daniel, napabisita ka sa aking bahay?” Kuya asks.
“Opo.” Daniel nods in affirmation.
“Kinuha niyo kasi girlfriend, este, ka-loveteam ko eh.” He says with a cheeky grin. “Tsaka, partners po kami. Kung papasok siya, karapatdapat lang din na papasok din ako sa bahay niyo.”
“Hmmm.” Kuya says, mulling over Daniel’s point.
“Tsaka, walang kwenta ang bakod ng bahay niyo para kay Kath kasi mismo diyan sa loob may ano na eh.” Daniel mumbles. “De loko lang.” Daniel says with a smile, quickly taking back his words.
Daniel already has a list of reasons why he should be let in Big Brother’s house and he was on a roll so there he was listing off his reasons while Kuya just hums at him.
“Tapos, miss ko na po siya. Bago lang kaya kami nagkita after three weeks of not seeing each other. THREE WEEKS YUN BIG BRO!” Daniel reasons, emphasizing his last statement.
“Hmm. Nagdala ka ba ng iyong mga gamit?” Kuya asks.
“Siyempre, boy scout kaya ako!”
“Oh sige, Daniel. Payag na ako. Pwede ka nang pumasok sa bahay ko.”
“YES!” Daniel shouts, pumping his fists in the air. He quickly stands up and fixes his hair while looking at his reflection in the numerous mirrors around the confession room.
Nasayo na ang lahat, minamahal kita pagkat. Nasayo na ang lahat, pati ang puso ko. Lahat na mismo nasayo, ang ganda, ang bait, ang talino.
The housemates’ wake up call was DJ’s song, which left the housemates wondering why that song was playing. Alex and Jane kept teasing Kath that maybe DJ is going in the house, too. All the other housemates agreed because why else would that song be their wake up call? Kathryn was passive though, “What if kasi nandito lang ako kaya yan yung wake up call natin? Psssh, kayo talaga.” She says, trying to shrug off their teases.
“You wanna bet?” Alex says, challenging Kathryn and shoving her.
“Ano ba, ate. Busy yun.” Kathryn replies while shoving Alex back.
“Sige na nga. You chikka me about your lovelife nalang.” Alex inquires, teasing Kathryn with her eyes.
Most of the housemates, including Kathryn, are in the kitchen, preparing the food for their breakfast and setting the table while the others were doing morning chores and mulling around here and there when they heard the creaking of the confession room door,
“Hello? Nandito po ba ang pinakamagandang babae sa buong mundo?” Says a voice. A voice that Kathryn knew very well- a voice that she would recognize anywhere. Daniel’s face then poked around the corner to the kitchen. Kathryn’s face broke into a huge grin that she couldn’t hide even if she tried. The housemates, specifically the girls, squealed and couldn’t hide their twitterpattedness at Daniel’s effort.Â
Daniel was all smiles, nodding at the other housemates in greeting. He would have hugged them and shook their hands if it weren’t for the bouquet of yellow roses & a box of cheesecake he was holding in both hands, which he swiftly puts down on the table.Â
Kathryn was pleasantly surprised, even if she felt that he was for sure going to come in the house to follow her. She runs up to him and places her arms around his neck and then leans back to say, “Hey you.” Daniel chuckles and pulls her in for another hug while whispering, “Hi, Ba. Na miss kita.” They both lean back, without letting go of hug, and grinned at each other- as if they haven’t seen each other for more than 24 hours.
“Don’t do that again.” Daniel says, warning in his tone and in his eyes.
“Yes po.” Kathryn says, still grinning at him.
“Ravioli.” Kathryn adds and she is rewarded with a split-second brush of Daniel’s lips on her cheek before he replies with, “Ravioli, too, my love.”
Ravioli was their code word for the words I love you because of course, they had to make one seeing as to they are such public figures that even whispered conversations are still not a safe place to say those words. Now was as good a time as ever to use their code word because you can’t get anymore public than Pinoy Big Brother’s House.
“EHEM. EHEM. EHEM.” Alex interrupts. “Ma walang galang lang po. Sorry ha pero you know, we’re here also. Share naman kami sa moment niyo, ano ba.” She says, jokingly. Kathryn and Daniel move apart but never really apart apart because these two don’t have and inkling as to what space is.
“Ay sorry. Hi, Alex! Miss ka na raw ni Robi, huy. Wala na partner niya.” Daniel says greeting her and leaning in to make beso. “Nagdala pala ako ng cheesecake para sa inyo.”
“Eh ang flowers? Para sa amin din yan?” Alex asks, with a huge mischievous smile on her face.
“Ah eh. Siyempre hindi.” Daniel answers. “Next time nalang, magdadala ako ng garden para sa’yo, Alex.”
“Ah! Oo nga pala guys, this is DJ Padilla.” Kathryn interjects, introducing Daniel to the other housemates. Daniel gives them all warm smiles, shakes their hands and hugs them, too.
“Axel meet DJ. DJ meet Axel.” Kathryn says, complete with hand gestures between the two guys. While this exchange is happening, the other housemates are now back to doing their chores and whatnot.
“Bro, nice to meet you.” Daniel says, holding out his hand.
“You too.” Axel answers while grasping DJ’s hand in a firm handshake.
“Friends sila ni Pat, Deej.” Kathryn informs Daniel, trying to ease the tension between the two boys.
“As in Pat Sugui?” Daniel confirms.
“Yep. They were actually at my send off party.” Axel answers.
And that’s what set the mood for the twosome’s friendship. Axel and DJ became fast friends after that. This may be because of mutual friends or because of the fact that Daniel likes to befriend all the other guys who show the slightest big of affection towards Kathryn. Case in point: Dominic Roque, who admitted to having a crush on Kathryn and wanted to work with her, is now one of his best friends in the industry. Keep your friends close but your, in this case, karibals closer.
Kathryn and Daniel are adjusting extremely well in the Big Brother House and also to the housemates. After 3 days, they already get into the groove of doing chores, participating in the household task for that week and getting to know the people in the house with them. On third night of their stay, Kathryn and Daniel have a bit of an alone time by the pool so they talked about their experiences in Europe. They were sharing one lounge chair, Daniel’s arms wrapped comfortably around Kathryn.
“Pero pinag-usapan na natin yan, Bal.” Kath complains, with a pout.
“No, we haven’t really finished talking about that.” Daniel insists. “Gusto ko malaman ang lahat lahat. Kung ano ang kinain mo, kung sumakit ba paa mo sa kakalakad, kung nag tantrums ba si Lhexine. Lahat, Baba.”
“Sige na nga cause I want to know everything about your trip, too.”
They started telling each other about random things from their trips. Jumping from one happening to another, from one country to another, from a funny story DJ told about Tita Karla to when Kathryn almost got mobbed by fans and photographers in Italy, what they bought in what country and even to that one hotel’s complimentary shampoo that reminded DJ of Kathryn’s smell, that’s why he took a small towel and washed it with the shampoo, quickly dried it and slept with it.
“Hindi talaga enough ang Facetime and all those videos we recorded and sent to each other, Ba.” Daniel says, with a slight frown that made lines appear between his eyebrows.
Kathryn reached out and straightened Daniel’s frown while maintaining a smile on her face, “That’s okay, babe. We’re here now. Tsaka, healthy din kaya ang temporary distance.”
“Healthy. Sus. Okay na yung unhealthy basta magkasama lang tayo.” Daniel complains.
“Ah sus.” Kathryn says while shoving Daniel’s face, to hide her ear splitting grin at his words. “Bolero forever.”
“But really, Kath. Iba pa rin kung kasama tayo nags-sight seeing.” Daniel says.
“If I know, ang sight-seeing niyo ng kuya mo ang yung mga magagandang Europeans.” Kathryn teasingly says, complete with a roll of her eyes.
“Huy. Wa’g ka nga. Sinisimulan mo ha.” Daniel reprimands.
“Pero seryoso na kasi, I wished I was there with you.” Daniel says, softening.
“Ako din naman ah. I wished you were there too.” Kathryn says. Daniel reaches out and finds Kathryn’s hand and intertwines their fingers together. He then places a kiss on the back of her hand.
“But we’ll go there together soon.” Kathryn says, surely with affirmation. “You’ll take me there, yeah?” She looks up at him, asking.
“Of course, babe. Ask me for anywhere and I’ll take you.” Daniel says, planting a kiss on her bare shoulder. “Just you and me.”
“Hmmm. I can’t think of anywhere right now.” Kathryn manages to say because her tiredness was catching up on her and she was yawning every 4 words. “Save that thought for later?”
“You have all my time, babe.” Daniel says, placing her head on his shoulder and kissing her forehead.
Kathryn and Daniel were having the time of their lives. They succeeded in tasks. They kept getting teased by Alex.
They had to learn how to take a bath in under 10 minutes because of that one punishment Kuya did to them. (“Ano? 10 minutes lang ang shower time?” Kathryn asked, alarmed. “Oo.” Daniel replied. “Sabay nalang tayo, Ba.” He said with a wink. “Payag ako.” She said, stepping up to the challenge. “Ang tanong… Papayag kaya si Kuya? UWE, DANIEL.” Kathryn said, laughing as DJ’s smug expression turned sour at the realization).
They cooked breakfast for the other housemates. They played in the pool. They participated in the weekly tasks. They even were the ones in charge in one grocery list making meeting. (“Si Kath and DJ na mag lead ng meeting na to.” Alex suggested. “Parang mommy at daddy lang.” One housemate commented. “Oy, wa’g nga kayo.” Daniel said, brushing off their teasing looks. “Weh. Kahit gustong gusto.” Axel said, high fiving Daniel).
After 5 days, they eventually had to leave. (“Sama ako sakanila, Kuya.” Alex pleaded.” “Ha! Dito ka na daw hanggang big night.” Daniel teased. “Excuse me lang, kailangan ko pa magtrabaho.” Alex responded. “Kami na daw mag tatake-over nga place mo sa Banana Split at dito sa PBB.” Kathryn said, amused. “Hoy! Ang dami niyo na ngang projects, ang dadamot!” Alex complained. “Joke lang! Pero seryoso na, sama ako sa inyo. Huhuhu please mga bebe.”)
They said their farewells and goodbyes to the housemates inside. Kathryn told Jane to just be true to herself while DJ, who bonded so much with Axel told him that they should hang out in the outside world (“Sama natin sina Pat.” DJ added. “Of course, bro. See you.” Axel said. Then they gave each other those half-hug, half-handshake things that boys do.)
They thanked Big Brother for the opportunity, no matter how short it was because they both had a blast. “Parang staycation na yun namin ni DJ.” Kathryn said.
Through that experience, Kathryn and Daniel found out that the best way to learn more about themselves was to learn more about each other. For a brief while, they felt like they were legitimately normal teenagers except nothing is ever normal anymore when it comes to them.
