Your familiarity will be the strongest with how good your relationship is with itthem. So who will you choose?

The MC’s best friend! (Or close friend depending on which ground you choose) Is he a he or a she? I DON’T KNOW!

Hiii Kat! It's L! And the reason why I'm saying this first, and am not just using anonymous, is because a) I don't want you to get shit for just being in contact with me, and b) because this way, if you decide to answer, you can answer privately just to me😼(there's an option for that)

Now, to continue with my long praise of one of the best stories that I've read so far.

Yes, yes, it is your story😂 I just finished it now this morning, after reading it for the whole day yesterday, and I have to say that I am loving how it's shaping up to be🤩 The characters, the action, drama, all of it is just wow🙌🏻🔥

I can't recall when I had so much fun with an IF/WIP. You had me laughing with my darling Vivian like a madman, so major points for that😂

And don't even get me started with that Vigil scene😭 I felt so betrayed, and I still do in a way, but it seems that he wasn't going to kill me? I mean shit, he didn't have to beat my mc into a bloody pulp, but here we are😭😤😂

Also, I hate you for making me choose between all these amazing characters😭 How do you expect me to be with someone, if that means that I can't be with someone else😭 (Vivian is my love, but so is Alice, and so is Adrian, and so is Elizabeth.... You see my conundrum😭😭😭)

You're doing some really amazing work, and I am so happy to see that, and I pray that you get so many patreon supporters, for you deserve them muchmore than many other writers that I know. I know that I'll be subscribing the moment I can🙌🏻

Aside from the fact that your story had me hooked and invested, and that it broke and mended my heart over and over, I just also wanted to add that it does have a decent number of typos, which are mostly coding things (swapping genders and text, for near the end there, Adrian and I went to watch a movie, and I wanted to tell her that I like her, but the scene switched me to watching a movie with Alice; just one example, but there are a others too), but yeah, just wanted to point those out, though that's just polishing, so don't stress yourself over those too much. You can easily fix those bad boys when you have the time, or are nearing the finish of your story, but as I said, as a good samaritan, I just wanted to inform you of those😂

Anywho, once again, it is an amazing story, which I love so, so much. It's so much fun, filled with such amazing storytelling and perfect pacing, and I am so glad to see you working on it the way that you do. You are truly a unique, amazing individual, and I wish you all the best, what with the story, but also with anything else in life🙌🏻🖤

Haha, Vigil also feels guilty as hell for that, I don't know if I'm showing it well (He's kinda detached, but tries his best to be there for the MC) He did need to let Adrian feel as if he was about to kill the MC to force Adrian out of the pendant!

Well, hate no more! You can choose between all of them! As long as their relationship stat is high, you can basically romance all of them ^-^

I did kinda hate in IF's where I had to choose, so for mine, I basically went "Nope, I'm not making people suffer through what I suffered!!" XD

Honestly I cherish these so much, it helps make the book so much better then before, and since I've read the thing 10,000 times, I sometimes gloss over it. So thank you so SO much for helping me! Just fixed it too ^-^

Depends on your choices! But if you choose well, she will! If you have high friendship stats/romance stats with her, chances are, she's prolly going to corner you in an alley for some good times, before turning a blind eye :>

Patron version has been updated again, mostly because It was supposed to end where it has ended just now. Most of week was also spent rewriting a lot of stuff, so it’s a bit more polished now as well!

Chapter 7: 36K words!

Chapter 1 has also been updated, where you can choose to skip over to chapter 6.2 and 7 (For Patroners). It gave me a few bugs in the beginning which forced me to do a lot of changes again, however it should be fixed now!

Hello I'm really sorry if this comes off as rude and demanding (it's really not my intention), but since the story is getting longer can we get the "skip to new update" option back?

I really like where the story is going and also appreciate the little details of flavored texts here and there throughout the demo each update, but it kinda takes me too much time to reach the new content each upds😭😭😭

This may or may not sound masochistic-ish but is M gonna punish me for cheating on them with V? So far they (may or may not) caught me lovey dovey with them but didn’t confront me about it so I was wondering if I got away with my cheating ass or is it gonna bite me later?

If M is dominant and you're a shy MC then yes, but only if you continue to persue V, if you romanced V, or told em you liked em, it will give you a choice where you can still persue em, and later on V will do something about it in the presence of M and thats when M is going to do 'something' about it.

not quite, you can just be good to the church's forces (not be a ruthless killer) and Vale may join your side. The confession does help!

Hi, I just finished reading your public demo and I like it overall, the world is interesting and the characters are great!

There were a couple parts that confused me though. The scene where the MC wakes up and Vale has them tied to the bed makes zero sense to me, not in that it isn’t in character for Vale, but in the fact that a trained supernatural warrior behind enemy lines didn’t wake up swinging the moment a finger was laid on them. Like genuinely how the hell did they end up in that position? And why didn’t they call on Adrien when they couldn’t break the ropes themself? Maybe because I was playing as fem MC, but I just couldn’t wrap my brain around that scene, if it was just the knife I could see a discussion, but the ropes made it seem really rapey, which was just wildly uncomfortable and I can’t picture a warrior doing anything other than fighting with all they’ve got in that situation.

The other thing that confused me was the MC’s reaction to John in chapter 6, MC could be pissed at Vigil, but seemed chill with the dude who orchestrated everything and kept Alex away from her? Did he use mind control magic on her? Why is MC so chill with him?

Sorry for the long post, I’m really enjoying your writing and looking forward to reading more of your work and seeing where the story goes! (Alex my love, and Marcus, protec that baby)

6k Words read, and the chapter has now been finished!

I want to re-read and polish it more, so I’ll extend the release date to 15 just in case. I wanna do re-runs and all that so there aren’t any errors.

Tuesday’s updates!

I kinda got better like, yesterday, and wrote only 2k words. So yeah… However, I am going to try and double down and write at least 8K words this week. I need to pump out a chapter on the 10th so there’s that.

The book is at 24K words and I do believe it’ll get to maayybe 30K words. It has the first NSFW (Well, the good kind not the bloody kind lol) with Alex/Alice so that’s pretty good. Any who, thanks for sticking with me you guys! Hope you have a great rest of your week!! <3

I know this is a silly question but I literally don't know anything about describing environments in writing as in weather or surroundings etc. When do you think it is most relevant to mention them?

I'm asking this as someone who has HARDLY EVER written anything before

HELLOOO!!! THIS ISNT A SILLY QUESTION AT ALL this actually one of the first things my lecturer taught us when i started my uni course!

Describing environments, weather and outfits is one of the trickiest things in a novel/fic because if done at the wrong moment it can take the reader out of the story and break the flow that a paragraph has, SO HERE ARE MY TIPS FOR WRITING SCENERY:

One of the most important things to think about when writing is that a reader is going to be entering a story with pre-conceived ideas and images of everything that will be mentioned inside it. E.g., if the author writes about a 'house' and its innards, the reader will often put in its place an image of a house from their own memories, because of this when an author goes out of their way to describe anything inside that house it will break the flow and immersion that the reader had.

To stop this, you want to describe as little as possible while retaining as much of your concept as you can. What this means, is you need to describe the "vibe" of a room and any important objects inside it.

Examples of this: "The room was cold, damp where rotten wallpaper sagged astray from each wall." Here, we know that the room has been abandoned/is in a state of disrepair, but the readers imagination is not hindered - they are still able to insert their own furniture and layout. The exception to this rule is as I mentioned previously, when an important object lies within the room.

Let's say that a messy room is important to a characters personality, or, that a character needs to pick up an item from a table, or interact with any kind of furniture (as most characters do.) Continue to use this rule, but add to it.

Example: "The room was cold, damp where rotten wallpaper sagged astray from each wall. It's contents, a sofa and a small coffee table, lay rotten with disuse; littered with scraps of old trash and food wrappings. 'Character-A' took a small, cautionary step forward and grabbed at a half melted piece of chocolate from atop of a couch cushion, a grimace settling across her face." Instead of bombarding the reader with a full paragraph description of the room at once, you are slowly feeding objects to them and telling them how they are supposed to feel about the environment. Without hindering the readers imagination too much, you guide them into seeing the version of the room that you want them to.

A key thing to note is that you should always mention how light or dark a room is, as it sets the tone for an entire scene.

When it comes to outdoor environments, there is a lot more freedom to describe and explore your surroundings. Since being outdoors means a character is going to be in a much larger space with less semantic connotations, a reader is going to have a harder time inserting their own images into this environment.

There are two approaches you can take to describing an outdoor environment: The worldbuilding approach or the pathetic fallacy approach:

Example of worldbuilding: "I took a sharp breath, a cloud of condensation forming before my face. A crisp chill filled the air, carried along by dry, orange leaves that rattled across the pavement and stuck to the wet concrete." This scene suggests the story takes place in late autumn/fall or perhaps early winter, it has no relation to the main characters emotion and merely serves as an environmental tool to help the reader understand the time and place in which the story takes place.

Example of pathetic fallacy: "My nostrils flared as I let out a sharp breath, the air before my face fanning out into a sodden cloud. A crisp chill filled the air and sunk itself deep into my bones, it bit at the swollen skin beneath my eyes; delicate from tears freshly shed, and carried along with it dry, brown leaves that rattled across the pavement and stuck to the wet concrete." By connecting the weather to the main character, there is an inherent connection between it and their emotions. Pathetic fallacy uses the weather as a tool to set the mood for the main character. E.g., if it is storming then the reader will understand the main character is upset, if it is sunny the reader will understand that the main character is happy.

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

It is always relevant to describe the characters surroundings. There should be a description every time they enter a new room; how in-depth this description is should be dependent on how important the room/environment is to the story - if the room only appears once, then it isn't necessary to give it too much thought, but if it is a room that the character will enter multiple times then you want to be as descriptive as possible so that they can remember it when the character returns.

With creative writing, there are no rules; what I've said in this post isn't definitive and does not need to be followed, if you believe that your work would be best understood if you offered your audience an in-depth description of the environment (something that should most commonly be done if the surroundings are not 'common', i.e., a fantasy world or something wildly specific) then you shouldn't stop yourself from doing that! Writing is all about experimenting and figuring out what works best for you.

Environments shift dependent on the perspective in which the fic is being written in, 1st POV often creates a biased narrative that follows the strict memories of the main character which allows an author to be more creative with the psychology of an environment (an example of this would be the 'Red Room' from Jane Eyre and how Jane's memories of the room paint it differently from how the room really is), while 3rd POV allows a more realistic and direct description.

I KNOW YOU ONLY ASKED about the relevance of describing environments but i lowk went off on one... I JUST LOVE TALKING ABOUT LITERARY TECHNIQUES i get excited, i hope this helps! if you plan on writing anything, you should share it with me i would love to read 👀
