People Watching

Katie hummed to herself happily, it was a beautiful summer day, and she'd just stopped by to get some fresh produce from one of the stores in town.  She was already trying to decide what she'd make with her items! There were so many possibilities!

And on such a beautiful day, she was happy to be outside.  She didn't have to work for a few more hours, so she was in good spirits as she headed into the town's square.  When she got there, she found a place to sit and found herself sitting down to people watch. 

Maybe she'd even spot someone interesting to talk to today!

  [text] oh that sounds like fun! just don’t get too crazy with the makeup though… try to be your wacky, Katie self. oh. and i don’t really have any advice, sorry :/ i’m not experienced with this sort of thing. trust me, if anyone’s the grand king of loneliness, its me. honestly i think i’m not even gonna have a date for prom.

You can do this by yourself, i’m (almost) sure of it! otherwise, i would’ve been over there in a heartbeat. you know i’m a master at doing nails.

  [text] a florist? That’s odd, but i’m not one to judge, that’s actually cool. i guess that means he cant be THAT bad. i just don’t trust any kind of date that comes from some kind of torture wheel auction you know? And don’t worry, he might actually be able to stomach your tarts. As long as you make sure to grind the sugar so that its extremely fine, and make sure the dough sits for 2 hours, and please, make sure to remove the seeds from the lemons…

[Text] He seems really nice! He wants to be a florist. Don't worry, I'm sure it'll be fine! It was because of the fundraiser anyways. HEY! He said he didn't like sweets that much, so I thought I'd try something with more tang than sweetness.  I'm going to give it my best try! Although I do worry he'll hate it... :[

“w-what…?” Carl said to himself confusedly. He should’ve been excited for his friend but instead, he was curiously concerned. Katie’s naive and hasn’t been with too many guys as far as Carl’s concerned. plus he feels like he’s her guard dog. but he tried to hide this and instead pretended to act kinda excited.

[Text] Cam! Do you know him? We just met, but.. I'm actually pretty excited. :) I don't know when we're going yet, but we're going for a picnic in the park. I'm going to try and make him something. I'm thinking lemon tarts, since they're not too sweet. What do you think? I've never been on a date before, so I'm a little bit nervous. >:

Pia's Bathhouse

  “I did! Thank you sooo much for coming~ It’s nice to meet you, Katie, I’m Pia,” she chimed, shaking the girl’s hand. Just then she remembered something that she had for the first person who came to her bath. “Oh oh oh!! Hold on, don’t move!” Pia let go of the girl’s hand and quickly went behind the bathhouse’s front desk. Hmm.. I know it’s here somewhere. “Ha! Found it!” Holding something behind her back, Pia walked back to Katie, “Here. This is for you!” She held out a small gift basket full of bath stuff- like soaps and lotions- for her to take.

“Anyway, what kind of bath would you like? I’ve been practicing with many remedies and soaps~! There are ones to help you relax, get energized, and anything else like that. There is also a normal one, too.”

Katie couldn't help but beam at the pinkette as they shook hands, super happy to be meeting another potential friend. She was having good luck today that way! "It's great to meet you, too! I-"

She paused with a head tilt of surprise as Pia told her to hold on, and then ran off towards the desk. What was she doing? The red head, blinked her blue eyes curiously and then she gasped in surprise. She was being given a gift?! Wow, it really was her lucky day! 

"For me?" she asked, a smile lighting up her face in absolute delight as she looked over the gift basket. "Wow, thank you!" she smiled up at Pia, not needing to think over the options at all. "I was hoping for something relaxing actually. I'm, kind of bouncy, since I..." she blushed and looked away with a shy smile, "I am going to be going on my first date soon, so.. I need to calm down a little...!"

  Rusk blew out a slightly exasperated breath as Katie petted his head, though he really didn’t mind. “I don’t care about him,” he protested, knowing it was in vain. “I just…don’t want to sit on him and have his death on my conscience.”

He raised an eyebrow at her foolish naivety. “Believe me. You don’t want this. The responsibilities, the commitment….it’s a nightmare. I’ll never be a parent.” He nearly shuddered at the thought.

"Mmhmmmmm!" Katie replied, although it was obvious by the expression on her face that she didn't believe him even a little bit. The way he was acting almost reminded her of Kurt, and it was hard not to giggle even more at that thought. 

"Aw, but a kitty isn't as bad as a baby, I'm sure! They're pretty self reliant, right?" but she did laugh at him all the more. "You don't want to be a daddy some day? I guess it would be hard to bake all the time with little ones running around and making a racket all day, eh?" she giggled at the thought. She did want kids, but not for a LONGGGG time! If she ever could find someone to be the daddy, of course.

  Success. Carl wittily avoided the topic at hand and gives himself an imaginary fist pound. good job Carl, way to go, you didn’t screw up for the first time. He puts down the tea on the table because lets face it, he’d be done with it in two seconds if he doesn’t put it down. He smiles to himself and picks up his pencil. He pokes her on the nose with it and says, “you know i’d just love to hear all bout how im mean, but don’t forget, we have some business to take care of.” Carl grabbed a couple papers in a ‘trying to be cool’ way but ended up spilling them across the floor. “Geeze, slippery little things aren’t they…” He fumbled to get them all back in place and finally placed them in front of her. “those things are greasier than my lasagna”

"Hmmm...." Katie stared at him, continuing to pout at him as he poked her in the nose.  What a butt! "Fine! But only because it's school related!" she muttered huffily, although she was sure he knew she was forcing it. She couldn't be mad at Carl that easily, she cared about him far too much for that. 

"Ah!" she winced as he knocked over all of his papers and couldn't help but giggle at him a little as she knelt down to help him pick them up off of the floor. Typical Carl! For someone who made such beautiful cakes, it always amazed her how clutzy he could be. "Here, let me help. You're clumsier than me, you know." she chuckled a little. If she was that bad, Neil would have likely fired her by now. "And you aren't entirely off the hook, you know. I know you're hiding /something/ from me. And I /will/ find out what..."

Dear Diary - June 7, 2013 (Before meeting Pia)

Today was a fun day!  Our fundraiser went really well, and I got to meet a whole bunch of new people!  It's always a lot of fun getting to see new faces and make new friends! And I got to talk more to Luna today, too! I wish I had known it was her birthday, I would have tried to make her something!  Oh well, next year I'll know in advance at least.

Oh! And uhm... I got picked for a date!  I'm actually really excited.  It was my first time meeting Cam, and he's really nice, and... Cute... Aha! I can't believe he picked me over Felicia!  I mean, I know it's just a friend date, but... I'm excited. And a little nervous. 

Luna is going to come over and do my make up before I go meet with him, too, so that should be good! Maybe she can give me advice, since she and Adam have been dating a while already, and this is my first time.  Not that this is a date-date! 

Uwaaa! I need to go relax! My heart is pounding! Maybe I'll go check out that new bath house...

Pia's Bathhouse

  Sweeping the floors, Pia let out a sigh.. Though the bathhouse has been open for a couple of days, there were no visitors whatsoever. She began to lose hope in the bath and started to think that maybe this wasn’t the best idea. She stopped sweeping and placed her hands on the top of the broom stick and rested her head on top of her hands.

Just when she was sure that she was going to give up, she heard the bell from the bathhouse door. Pia quickly sprang up, dropping the broom, and running to see who came, “Welcome~! Have you come to take a bath?”

Katie gave a little jump when she heard the broom drop from the other room, and she looked towards the source of the noise just in time for Pia to come running out.  The girl sure looked cute, what great hair!  Katie couldn't help but smile brightly as she nodded to her. 

"Hi! Ya, I wanted to check this place out. You just opened, right?" she didn't think she'd met this girl before either, but they looked about the same age. She strode forward and held out a hand to her. "I'm Katie, by the way. Nice to meet you!"

Pia's Bathhouse

Katie had heard rumors about this new bath house opening, and she couldn't help but find the idea a good one.  She'd had an... Interesting day working at the fundraiser and she needed some time to relax and unwind. Not to mention think things over.

As she approached the bath house with a backpack slung over her shoulder, she skipped inside and looked around the cute little waiting room. "Hiya! Anyone home?"

Dear Diary - June 2nd, 2013

Hmm... So, what has happened the last little while? I feel like I haven't been updating this enough lately.

Well, Carl and I have been hanging out again recently. It's like we picked up right where we left off!  I guess that's the good thing about best friends, isn't it?  I feel like he's hiding something from me, though. He smelled all... Flower-y?  Hm...

Oh, and I got to find out Rusk's secret! That he's been hiding a kitty cat in his room! Muffin is so cute! 

Not much else has been going on, really. I've been getting prepared for the fundraiser. I sure hope we win! I want to go to the beach with all of my friends! <3

Trying to get myself back into my groove. Also - I’ve missed my actual style, so this is kind of a combo of styles? Idk… There’s a ton of mistakes, but at least I drew something? Also, I officially hate umbrellas.. xD
