I just remember reading that scene and being like, ‘wow, I’ve never been the persue-er in a scene’. I feel like as women we don’t get that opportunity as much and I just remember thinking ‘oh my god this is so cool I’ve never really got to be on this side persuing somebody and flirting with somebody so openly and unabashadly.’ It was a cool thing, I’ve never done this before. I love that scene, I just think it’s so direct and forward. It has the perfect amount of bravery and going for what she wants but also there’s a sensitivety and a sweetness to it. I think it just has all the elements. I’m such a huge fan of the way that scene was written, I really enjoyed it. It was just such a perfect introduction for the relationship of Waverly and Nicole. - Kat Barrell
oh to be called "my love" by your favourite person in the whole world
Emily Andras after tonight’s episode:
my gay ass was NOT prepared for THAT wayhaught scene at the end of 4x02…
Emily Andras really just went: give the gays everything they want. Everything.
Home is where the heart is

“I’m exhausted.” “I know, baby.”
One thing I just learned is that a LOT of deep sea creatures aren’t coloured black, but red: Red blends in so well in dark water that it APPEARS dark or invisible. In short, Ariel looks bald to other mermaids.
She wouldn’t look bald, but you know that scene where she is singing through the hole in the coral and reaching up?
In deep enough water she would have just been eyes and teeth and then a long skinny hand stretching out.
Also the reason that red is such a hot ticket item is that relatively few deep sea predators produce red light, and without that wavelength red colored prey is near invisible. There are a lot of red colored prey animals, and there’s some great video out there on how bioluminescence and photophores factor into hunting/hiding/finding mates in the deep sea of you’re interested in learning more.
It’s kind of similar to why you should wear dark blue or green when you’re hiding in the woods at night instead of Black. Black would make your outline and body shape more visible than if you’re hiding wearing dark blue or green, and with an irregular pattern you’re even more invisible bc itll break up your silhouette.
In deep enough water she would have just been eyes and teeth and then a long skinny hand stretching out.
