Enid had finally scraped together enough tips from the Weathervane to escape her chaotic family. One year lease on a tiny one-bedroom apartment in the city, signed and sealed. Life was finally looking up especially after Yoko gifted her the bright pink car despite Enidâs initial protests. âYou need wheels, Pup. Consider it a housewarming present.â
It had only been a week with the shiny new thing when disaster struck.
âFuck!â Enid hissed, rubbing the back of her head as she stumbled out of the back door of the car. Her heart hammered against her ribs. She was already late for the biggest job interview of her life, personal assistant to some big-shot executive and now this.
âFuck!â Enid huffed, still rubbing her head as she fumbled for her phone and dialed Yoko with shaking fingers. âPick up, pick upâŠâ She said, biting her lower lip and tapping her foot.
The line rang one, two and then the recipient replied, âYo, E! Howâs the new car treating you?â Yokoâs voice filled Enidâs ear.
âI fucked up, YoksâŠreal bad.â Enid voice cracked.
Yoko sat up at her desk chair, âWhat happened? Are you ok?â
Enid looked down at herself, âIâmâŠfine. I thinkâŠâ
Yoko sighed in relief, âOkaaay, so whatâs the problem, Pup?â
âOk, soâŠplease donât be mad.â Enid started.
âWhy would I be mad?â
Enid whimpered, âI hit a FerrariâŠâ
âWhat? Were you going fast? How bad is the damage? You sure youâre ok?â Yoko rapid fired.
âIâŠI was late for an interview and thought taking a short cut would be bestâŠhow was I supposed to know a Ferrari would be parked in the narrow alleyway?!â Enid rambled, âAny way, I saw it and thought I could pass through andâŠnow my car is stuck and it has the Ferrari pinned against a wall, side swiped and I donât know if or not totaledâŠâ
Yoko sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. Of course something like this would happen to Enid⊠âWhatâs the license plate?â Yoko asked.
âUmâŠAI77250âŠâ Enid replied, now pacing behind both cars while she assumed Yoko was searching the plate on her Pc.
âShitâŠâ Yoko said in a low tone, âI was afraid of thisâŠâ
âWhat?! Whatâs wrong?!â Enid panicked.
âThe car you hitâŠitâs jet black isnât it?â Yoko asked.
âMm yeahâŠwhy?â Enid replied, now pulse racing.
âFuckâŠâ Yoko curse once more,
âThe only jet black Ferrari in the city belongs to THE Wednesday AddamsâŠâ
Enid almost dropped her phone. She had heard about the infamous Wednesday Addams. She was the heir to the Addams empire. She was a ruthless business woman AND to Enidâs now demise, they woman whose assistant she had applied to beâŠ
âYouâve got to be kidding meâŠâ She gasped.
âNot unless Batman is in townâŠso, fuckâŠIâll call the insurance, stay put and breathe, okay? Iâll call you back.â Yoko reassured.
âOkâŠthank you, Yoks.â Enid whimpered. She decided to stand against the opposite wall, just staring at the damaged sheâd caused when she heard the sound of heels coming down the ally. âOh, no no no no noâŠâ she scrambled to stand straight as Wednesday Addams stopped dead in her tracks, frowning, staring at the cars and her and back to the cars, her phone pressed against her ear, âBianca, I will have to call you backâŠâ Wednesday said into the phone, voice low and velvet. She eyed Enid up and down once more before she spoke again, âSome hot girl wrecked my car.â She flashed Enid a smirk as she walked straight up to her making Enidâs heart skip a beatâŠ
